01:00Your very emotional reaction at the end there, was that kind of a release from what's been a kind of rollercoaster a few days ?
01:09It's weird. It could be, but I'm not aware of it, you know ?
01:12I wasn't coming in today feeling like how I reacted at the end. I think it was more how the match went today.
01:20I think obviously if I'd won, let's say in straight sets, I probably wouldn't have a different reaction, but it was very genuine.
01:26I think, you know, the last game, you know, to win the match by just breaking on the last chance you have before a tiebreak is like the highest pressure.
01:33You know, because then, you know, you're just a few points away from going into a tiebreak and having to deal with really high, high, high pressure.
01:40So it was kind of my last chance and I was able to play just the right way.
01:45You know, take my chance, kind of stepped in early on the return, had match point, came back, match point again, came back and really believed until the end.
01:53So I think all that pressure just, you know, boiled out at the end.
02:05Hello, Felix. This match confirms two stats that I've read in the ATP notes today.
02:11You won more or less two-thirds of your tiebreaks and two-thirds of your decisive set this season.
02:16I mean, it's not...
02:17Two-thirds?
02:18Two-thirds.
02:19Okay, it's two-thirds, yeah.
02:2030 out of 45, something like this.
02:21Yeah, okay.
02:22Or 31 out of 45.
02:23What's the story behind this ability to be, I mean, to be very effective when it counts the most?
02:29Yeah.
02:30I mean, as a player, you know you will get into difficult and tight situations at this level.
02:39I mean, I would love to win every match in straight sets, maybe the way Sinner does, right?
02:44But, you know, for most of us players, it's like, especially at this level, you know, you will be in tight situations when it comes down to it.
02:51So I try to prepare myself when I practice or mentally to sometimes, you know, put a certain challenge or a certain importance on that specific point or that specific ball.
03:02And I try to be, okay, on this rally I want to be really precise or I want to, you know, not make any mistakes.
03:07So I kind of try to build myself and my game to be ready for those moments.
03:12And then, you know, you try to stay, you know, emotionally.
03:16Like, you try to take those out and then just be pragmatic, you know, and be clear with your mind and make the right decisions at the right moment.
03:25So that's all I think about.
03:29Felix, this is such a different tournament to anything else you would play through the year, unless it's Davis Cup or United Cup or something like that.
03:37So when you come into a tournament such as this, do you come in with a thought process?
03:44I expect to win.
03:46You know, I believe I can win.
03:49What is the mental view on that score?
03:54Well, no, first you think I need to be ready and focused and sharp like from the very first day, very first point.
04:06And I think when you play the best of the best, I was telling my coach actually the other day, like, you feel that every point matters so much, right?
04:13You feel that there's such high pressure on the, you know, first point of the game or even 30-love, you're up.
04:19But, for example, I don't know, with Sinner, like, I was up 40-15 one game, I hit a double fault, and all of a sudden I'm 40-30, but I'm not as relaxed as if I was playing somebody else.
04:28So you know that all week you will be dealing with this kind of high pressure, so you prepare yourself like this for that.
04:34And then you just, for me personally, I approach a day at a time because, you know, no reason to project myself too much.
04:43I try to get the first win. I wasn't able to win the first match.
04:46This is great that this tournament you can actually lose a match and still win the tournament.
04:50So now today it was like, okay, let's get the first win on board, right?
04:53Because you know that then it's almost over.
04:55So now that I've won today, you know, you're kind of able to get a relief of, okay, now you're in this tournament.
05:01And if I do win again, then I'm really in this tournament. So I kind of look at it this way.
05:10Hi, Felix. What is your feelings about the next match against Zverev?
05:18We played not that long ago, and it's obviously better that, you know, the match went my way than if it was the other way around.
05:25So, you know, you step on the court with maybe a little bit more confidence.
05:29But let's see how it goes. Obviously, we know each other well.
05:33We've played since, you know, 2019 every year almost.
05:37So, yeah, he knows what he needs to do. I know what I need to do.
05:41But let's see who can execute their game the best on Friday.
05:46Ok. So, great.
05:50Thank you.
05:52Thank you.
