00:30Well done, Irina. Incredible season and great week.
00:36And also, like, I'm sure you have this very clear goal for next year, given your standards,
00:41because, you know, I know you're a little disappointed in how you played in the biggest matches of the year.
00:47So I'm sort of curious about what you think when you sort of look back on this year
00:53about, like, your approach to those matches and things you might be able to do differently
00:57so you can play as well as you know you can play in the biggest moment.
01:04Well, I actually think that, like, looking back, the only thing I would change is my emotions in those big matches.
01:11But overall, it was, yeah, it was a great tennis fight and players just were better than me in those matches.
01:20And if I would have to go out there again, I would, yeah, I would, like, tennis-wise, I would do the same things.
01:28Maybe I would just try to be in a better control over my emotions.
01:33And that's it, and this is sport, you know, you cannot win everything.
01:38And I feel like with some tough losses, you're getting much better as the player and the person, and this is how you grow.
01:48Congrats on an amazing season.
01:50I'm just wondering, you know Elena really, really well, and you've played her in the slam final and everything.
01:55But the way she was playing today, what was the most difficult part about today?
02:00Well, I feel like she, yeah, she just decided that she's just going to step in and go for her shots.
02:09And without, like, thinking and without, like, adopting any decisions.
02:13And I think she was a bit more brave today than me.
02:18And sometimes I was probably slowing down my speed and maybe going in the wrong targets.
02:28And maybe sometimes I didn't play the smartest game that I can show.
02:35So, but yeah, the most difficult was that, like, she was just, like, going for her shots.
02:40And she was, like, making those lines and lines after lines.
02:43And, you know, I was, like, just trying to stay in the game.
02:47I was just trying to wait for opportunity.
02:48And when I had the opportunity in the second set, I think I just, I put so much pressure on myself.
02:56Like, oh, this is the opportunity.
02:57I have to take it.
02:58I have to take it.
02:58And that's why, like, I couldn't, like, first point, okay, I should play incredible.
03:02And the second one, I didn't return.
03:04And then it's a bit, you know, it became a bit more emotional.
03:06So, I think maybe next time in those big moments, I will just play as a regular point without, like, thinking that, oh, this is my opportunity.
03:17On and off.
03:21Lorena, many congratulations on the performance that you have been doing all this tournament.
03:26It was great watching you.
03:28I want to know, you said, like, Lorena played very, Alina played very well.
03:33And that's right.
03:35And you also played very well.
03:37You just mentioned that the emotions part.
03:40I mean, will that be something you'll be working on in the offseason before the season begins?
03:46And how will you be working on the way?
03:49I think.
03:50I guess by doing this mistake over and over again.
03:54Next time, I show up on the big matches, and I'm in a better control.
03:59But, yeah, I mean, I was maybe a little bit emotional today.
04:02But it didn't really affect my game.
04:05I was just, like, maybe overthinking today.
04:09Maybe too much.
04:10So, I think it wasn't like I lost complete, like, control over my emotions, and I lost the match.
04:15No, I think she played incredible.
04:17I didn't use a couple opportunities I had.
04:20And, yeah, basically that's it.
04:22That's just tennis, you know.
04:23Sometimes you win.
04:25Sometimes you lose.
04:26And that's how you learn.
04:27Thank you.
04:27Marina, I know it's a very tough loss for you today.
04:36But just like many people have been saying, congratulations, because you have had an incredible season.
04:41And I have a very important question for you.
04:45What are you most looking forward to doing in the Maldives?
04:48And can I recommend swimming with sharks?
04:50Well, that's my biggest fear.
04:53And I hope that I'm going to fight this fear.
04:55You should do it.
04:56I don't know.
04:57It's scary, you know, because I don't want to be in the news like, oh, so Blanca got thrown by shark.
05:03They are quite homeless.
05:04Yeah?
05:04Okay.
05:05I mean, I will try, but I have my feeling that the moment I will step in the water, I'll go out, like, in a second.
05:15But, yeah, my biggest goal is to work on my ten lines.
05:18And, yeah, I want to see one caller of...
05:24We need to see the evidence on your Instagram, please.
05:27Yeah, for sure.
05:29For sure, guys.
05:30Okay, girl, we're going to deflect.
05:36We're going to deflect.
05:37We're going into fashion.
05:40I want to ask you, okay, so you teased us with Vogue for this Nike Arena collaboration.
05:45Can you talk about this beautiful cutout dress you've been wearing?
05:47And what can we expect for 2026 fashion on court with you?
05:51Yeah, I mean, this dress was kind of like, let's say, together work.
05:59Me and Nike, I just threw a bunch of ideas I had, and I was able to push them to give me, yeah, in a way, like, my own dress.
06:08And I think it turned out being, like, really cool dress.
06:11People loved it, which is important.
06:14And, yeah, unfortunately, next season, it's not going to be that special for me.
06:22But...
06:22Why?
06:24Exactly.
06:26Maybe we should just start messaging Nike, Instagram, and, like, putting some pressure on.
06:31But let's wait for 2027, because that year you're going to be sick.
06:36Hey, Irina, I am so excited for your off-season and your time off, but a tennis question for you.
06:47At this, I know, sorry, I'm so sorry.
06:50At the very, very top of the game, which you are literally there, are there things technically,
06:56obviously you're working on the emotions, but in terms of your actual play on the court
07:00that you know you want to work on before next season?
07:03Yeah, there is so many things I would like to improve in.
07:09There is a few technical things that I'll definitely work on in the pre-season, and I'm not going to tell.
07:19But I think, like, at this point, it's just, like, you know, 1% of the time.
07:24You just work a little bit on something, just get better a little bit in something,
07:29and it's already, like, a huge benefit.
07:32So I'll definitely try to work on my emotions and technical parts.
07:39There's a few things that I would like to improve.
07:42Irina, congratulations, regardless.
07:45That was a tough season.
07:46How do you mentally regroup after such a tough loss?
07:51And what do you think was the key moment where you thought, okay, this is not my game today?
07:57Well, you never think like that on the court.
07:59You still, like, every match you play and sometimes, you know, things are not going your way,
08:05you still have your hopes that, okay, maybe I'll find my game.
08:09And when you just keep, you know, keep digging, keep trying, keep fighting,
08:12and most of the times you're able to turn around things.
08:17But sometimes, yeah, sometimes players are better in the day than you.
08:23And how to recover after such a tough loss?
08:26I mean, the good thing that I'm always there.
08:31The bad thing that this season I lost most of the biggest finals I made.
08:36So I guess I'll just sit back on Maldives, having my probably tequila,
08:43and think back and try to analyze my maybe behavior, my emotions,
08:49and think that actually it's been pretty good so far.
08:52I just need to get a little bit better, push myself a little bit more,
08:56and hopefully next season I'll improve.
09:00Hi, Irina.
09:01Probably not the way you wanted this week to end,
09:04but overall, how have you enjoyed Riyadh?
09:05How have you enjoyed being here in Saudi?
09:08Yeah, yeah, I enjoyed my time, and yeah, I really enjoyed my time.
09:14And, of course, not the result I wanted to finish this season, this week.
09:20But as I said, so many things to be proud of, and I enjoyed my time here,
09:24and I cannot wait to leave to have my time off.
09:28But I'm excited to come back here and hopefully do better.
09:32Thank you.
