00:00Dakota Fanning hopes dating will end soon so she can start a family.
00:04Dakota Fanning is ready for the next stage of her life.
00:08In a new interview for Birdie, the former child star, 31,
00:11is hoping to have children sometime in the near future.
00:15Every year that goes by, you're more in tune with who you are
00:18and with what you want and don't want, she told the publication.
00:21I'm associating this decade with the next part of my life.
00:24I've always wanted to have kids.
00:26That's something I've never questioned and has always been really important to me,
00:29Fanning added.
00:31So hopefully dating will end soon and this next decade will bring that into my life,
00:35she said.
00:36The Man on Fire actress has been in the entertainment industry since the age of five
00:40and has since become one of the most blockbuster names in showbiz.
00:45She also spoke about being in the limelight at such a young age,
00:48telling the outlet that the label of Acting Wise Beyond Her Years
00:51was unceremoniously slapped on her.
00:54This narrative was placed on me, Fanning stated.
00:57Everything I said or did that made people say that about me was just
01:00who I was and who I am.
01:04I know it's not a bad thing, but it felt so heavy and negative to me.
01:07I definitely have gone through times where I'm like,
01:10I'm just the age that I am.
01:12I'm still learning about myself and I'm not going to be perfect all the time,
01:15she added.
01:17Fanning then explained how she won't make the whys beyond your years choice at every step.
01:22The Georgia native admitted that there have been instances
01:24where she had to work through that narrative.
01:27But very fortunately, I've always had a strong sense of myself
01:30and a healthy ability to block out what feels untrue or too heavy.
01:35I'm good at compartmentalizing, she said.
01:37Fanning's younger sister, Elle, 27, has also made her mark in Hollywood.
01:42And the duo are even starring together in the upcoming drama, The Nightingale.
01:46The historical flick hits the big screen in 2027
01:49and is an adaptation of Kristen Hanna's novel of the same name.
01:54The plot follows two sisters who are stuck in World War II era France
01:57and must stay together to survive the horrors of war.
