Scientists captured faint photon emissions from living creatures, revealing a hidden glow that vanishes the moment life ends.

00:00I'm going to pour one out. Yeah. For the mice. What scientists did is they rounded up a bunch
00:05of mice. They did. Four of them to be exact. I don't love this part. They put them in a dark
00:11room, dark box. Yeah. And they could see that the mice were giving off these little tiny amounts of
00:17light. And now here's where it gets hairy. I'm so sorry. They did kill the mice. I know. When they
00:22killed the mice, the light stopped. And so to prove that that wasn't just light coming from
00:28the heat source, which is one of their theses, they actually wormed the bodies of the mice back up.
00:35So I guess like pour water back into the cup just to prove that it wasn't heat and it was in fact
00:41light. It turns out they did not give off any more light. And so that basically proved their theory
00:46that this light was coming from the processes in your cells and not the heat itself.
