Mayfield's Mule — Mayfield's Mule 1969-1970 (UK, Heavy Psychedelic Rock)
The only album by the band, formed in 1968 by guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter Chris Mayfield, who had previously played with The Moral Set and later collaborated with Nirvana, Johnny Gustafson, Gene Latter, and Ian Hunter. After recording three singles, Mayfield's Mule began working on an album at Abbey Road Studios. But something went wrong, and the album's release was postponed, replaced by an incredible Uruguayan release, released on the Emi-Odeon label without the band's knowledge. Mayfield's Mule later invited brothers Mike and Andy Scott. After this, all the musicians went their separate ways: Andy Scott joined The Sweet, Sean Jenkins played briefly in Henry Cow and died shortly before the release of this album, Chris Mayfield collaborated with John Kongos and Noel Redding and continues to work musically to this day.
