Multi-instrumentalist Mike Lewis, a Canadian by birth, began his musical career in the Toronto-based band "The Big Town Boys." In 1964, he left the band and went to study in Munich. In the early 1970s, seeking fame and fortune in the music industry, he actively participated in the German music scene, where he met the then-famous producer Conny Plank. Initially, as a pure experiment, under the name "Wired," they created the album "Free Improvisation," the content of which perfectly matched its title. A few months later, Lewis, Plank, and American percussionist and composer Michael Ranta recorded a session that was released only 40 years later on the Belgian label Metaphon under the title Mu in a limited edition of 500 copies. Plank then helped Lewis record his self-titled solo album, Wuschel, and finally, in 1973, Mike released another album, this time under the rather odd name Moosknukkl Groovband, where he and his band play a much more down-to-earth and quite enjoyable experimental guitar-and-keyboard prog with a touch of blues-rock and boogie rock. His former bandmates from The Big Town Boys were brought in to record the album. Released on the Spiegelei label, the album was limited to 3,000 copies. Apparently, this marked the peak of Mike Lewis's creative career. Unfortunately, after the release of this album, he and his bandmates disappeared from the musical spotlight.
