Elmira — Lady Of The Mountain 1972-76 (Denmark, Heavy Psychedelic Rock)
Recordings by a Danish band made between 1972 and 1976. Their entire output was released on disc in 2000 on the Danish label Orpheus Records. The album is underground psychedelic heavy rock with generous organ contributions and decent guitar solos. Blues and folk tones are occasionally evident. An unfairly forgotten band from 1968-76, they were never released during their lifetime. The band existed for approximately eight years, and was one of the first in Denmark to play heavy music, but for some reason left nothing but rehearsal recordings from 1972-76. The disillusioned musicians never appeared again, and the surviving master tapes were found and, as far as possible, edited. The author of the lyrics is the famous poet Benny Andersen.
