00:00Meanwhile, Senator Ronald Bato De La Rosa was absent again from the Senate session and his whereabouts remain unknown following reports that the International Criminal Court, or ICI, has allegedly issued a warrant of arrest against him.
00:16Senator Panfilo Lacson said he tried to contact De La Rosa to offer advice on facing possible criminal charges not to encourage him to hide.
00:24Questions have risen on whether the Senate would protect De La Rosa if an ICC warrant is confirmed.
00:32Lacson and Senate President Tito Soto explained that the Constitution gives limited immunity to lawmakers, but it cannot be used to indefinitely avoid arrest.
00:42Meanwhile, Senate Minority Leader Alan Peter Cayetano stressed that only Philippine courts can authorize arrests and that any ICC warrant must go through local legal processes.
