00:00From the Peck and Teller Theater at the Rio Hotel in Las Vegas.
00:27Here's our host, Brooke Barth!
00:43Welcome to Fool Us. Magic is like a man bun. Sure, I'm seeing it, but I don't understand it.
00:49So here to help us make sense of it all, the magic part at least, is our well-groomed duo, Penn and Teller!
00:57Whenever our dapper duo can't figure out how a trick is done, they give away a Fool Us trophy and a slot in their amazing Las Vegas magic show.
01:21Let's meet our first magician of the night.
01:26I do live in Madrid, a good strong magic community. I feel gratitude for the Spanish magicians before me.
01:32I was a teenager. I was starting doing magic. My parents sent me to Dublin, Ireland. I had a deck of cards with me. And what I have learned is my magic is a way of communication.
01:44It doesn't matter which language you speak. Magic is for everyone. I use a lot of cards and I also use poetry. I write poetry.
01:54If I have everything that I am, but I don't know. If I have everything, but I don't know who I am, then what do I have?
02:05It's fully in Penn and Teller. I would love it to happen, but what is really amazing to me is that there are millions of people to this television.
02:15All the audience I could connect with, with a piece of magic that has been inside of me, and I want to give it to them like a present.
02:23Give it up for the magical Paco Agrado.
02:34Oh, thank you. My pleasure. Before we begin, the hair is real. Penn, Teller, thanks for hosting me, and we'll try to do some magic.
02:51You know, years ago, many years ago, I was playing with cards at night and realized that four of them started talking to me.
03:06And no, they were not the four queens, not the four kings, not the four aces, but the four deuces.
03:18Teller, could you point any number between one to seven, let's say? Four. It was at four o'clock. I now remember.
03:31I'll put it here. Four, four, four, four, and four, because after a few hours playing with them, I realized that they could cross the table.
03:49And in this night, with a beautiful piece of music in the background, it was a very, very magical moment.
04:02What?
04:03What?
04:04What?
04:05What?
04:07What?
04:12What?
04:13What?
04:17What?
04:20What?
07:24This is a true story, everyone.
07:26This is a true story, but I said, when life gives you this opportunity, when the train comes, man, you've got to take the ride.
07:34That's amazing.
07:35That's it.
07:36That's it.
07:37That's it.
07:38We hope that this has been an amazing moment for you.
07:41It's been, for sure.
07:42It happens very few times in a lifetime.
07:46Thank you, man.
07:47Okay, Paco, let's find out if your spontaneous magic and attitude has earned you a Foolist trophy.
07:53Let's go for it.
07:54Penn and Teller?
07:55Let's start by saying, Paco, that we love you.
07:57Wow, thank you.
07:58It's that simple.
07:59You're just fabulous.
08:01And your whole style is just gorgeous.
08:06Just everything.
08:07It's that wonderful thing that some people don't dare do in magic, which is you say what you're going to do and you do it.
08:16And it just makes it straightforward and clean.
08:20And it's a great act, but now it's time to play the game.
08:23The reappearances, we have some ideas on.
08:26The vanishes, I want to say something.
08:29You're familiar with Taylor Swift, and I'm wearing a bracelet that says folklore on it.
08:35And that means you're listening very closely for some code words about that kind of lonely record that Taylor did.
08:44And the cover of it, which was so stark.
08:49And it's really hard for you to get out of what I'm saying, not because of the language.
08:56The language is very clear.
08:58But the reason you're having trouble understanding the code words is there are no code words.
09:04You fooled us.
09:14You fooled us.
09:16You fooled us.
09:17You fooled us.
09:18You fooled us.
09:19You fooled us.
09:20You fooled us.
09:21Bravo, Bravo, everyone.
09:23Thank you so much.
09:28Thank you so much.
09:32Thank you so much.
09:37It's just beautiful.
09:38Penn and Teller just gave away a Fool Us trophy, but don't go away because they've got more magicians
09:44to take on when Fool Us returns.
09:48Fool Us is back and the stage is set for our next incredible act.
10:06We came on Fool Us and we're foolhardy.
10:11We told the world our love story.
10:13And then we said this.
10:15We wanted the Fool Us audience to be the first to know if we fool Penn and Teller tonight, we're getting married.
10:21Guess what happened next?
10:23Wow.
10:25Did you know it could do that?
10:26I did not know it could do that.
10:28We're engaged now.
10:31And we're back again with another kind of love story.
10:34Call it mature love.
10:37Now it's love with mortgages and chores.
10:40But we still keep the magic alive.
10:43And hey, we're engaged and we're in Vegas.
10:46Getting married here is as easy as grabbing a cheeseburger.
10:48Anything can happen.
10:49We don't know if we'll fool Penn and Teller again.
10:51But we're sure we'll surprise them.
10:54Okay, someone ought to fix that.
10:58I couldn't agree more.
11:08Please welcome back mental magic duo, the Cosmic Romantic.
11:16Penn, Teller, you've been working together for 50 years.
11:19Elizabeth and I have been partners for just three.
11:21We haven't reached our golden anniversary yet.
11:24But we've learned that relationships work when you have a shared vision.
11:27It's true.
11:28In fact, every year we make a vision board together and bless it with a Latin chant.
11:32We know that sounds crazy, but last year almost everything on our board came true.
11:36We bought a house, won a Foolish trophy, and got engaged.
11:40We actually got to Vegas a couple days early this time to celebrate our engagement.
11:51It's been fun.
11:52I think.
11:53Actually, I don't remember much of anything.
11:55Now we have even more big dreams.
11:59It's true, but our vision board this year isn't finished yet.
12:03All we have so far is a picture of us and a little sticky note here I'll put in the corner so that we can sign our work when it's finished.
12:13Oh, and show them the back.
12:14Of course, I almost forgot.
12:16It says, live, laugh, love.
12:20That's a cool quote I made up.
12:23She's a trendsetter.
12:25Penn, Teller, since you two have been such an important part of our story, we would love for you to help us finish this board.
12:32Would you please come join us?
12:34Thank you, guys.
12:39In front of you, we have a ton of different magazine clippings laid out.
12:44In just a second, you're each going to select one.
12:46But first, Elizabeth is going to blindfold herself.
12:49I'm going to use my powers of clairvoyance to see what images you choose.
12:53Then I'm going to use my much more limited powers of drawing to record what I see.
12:59Lower your expectations.
13:00I failed art in preschool.
13:02I'm sure you'll do great, doll.
13:04Okay, guys.
13:05Let's begin.
13:06Penn, grab whichever picture you'd like.
13:08Uh, okay.
13:10Everyone calls out to you.
13:11This one.
13:12Oh, jeez.
13:13This one calls out to me.
13:14Okay.
13:15Think about that.
13:16Place it on the board wherever you'd like.
13:17Wherever I want, I'd like it to be over here.
13:19Perfection.
13:20And do I pin it in place?
13:21Please, feel free.
13:22Teller, same thing.
13:23Whichever one calls out to you.
13:27Okay.
13:28Place that on the board.
13:29Well done.
13:31I got to say, the board's looking pretty good already.
13:33Nice.
13:34Let's do a quick check-in.
13:35Elizabeth, how are you doing over there?
13:36Uh, just got the cap off this marker.
13:39All right.
13:40She's a little behind.
13:41That's okay.
13:42Let's do this one more time, guys.
13:43Penn, again, whichever one calls out to you.
13:46I guess so.
13:47Okay.
13:48But see it in your mind.
13:49Place it on the board wherever you'd like.
13:50I do see it in my mind.
13:51And I'm placing it there.
13:52Teller, same thing.
13:53Whichever one calls out to you.
13:55Now the board is looking really good.
13:57Uh, one more thing, guys.
13:58It would be a great honor if you autograph this beautiful work you just created for us.
14:03Uh, Penn, if you please sign the top line on the sticky note.
14:07And Tyler, if you sign just below, we would appreciate it.
14:10This also adds value to the board in case we ever hit some hard times and need to sell it.
14:13We'll be good.
14:14All right.
14:15Elizabeth, how are you doing?
14:16Just finished.
14:17And, uh...
14:18Oh.
14:19I was blindfolded, so please be nice.
14:21Well, what do you say, guys?
14:22Should we see if we all share the same vision tonight?
14:24Sure.
14:25All right.
14:26All right.
14:27Elizabeth, how are you doing?
14:28Just finished.
14:29And, uh...
14:30Oh.
14:31I was blindfolded, so please be nice.
14:32Well, what do you say, guys?
14:34Should we see if we all share the same vision tonight?
14:36Sure.
14:37Even though Elizabeth was blindfolded and all the way over here, your pictures and her
14:42drawing are nevertheless a perfect... mess.
14:50Wow, that is not good at all.
14:53Yeah, it's pretty bad.
14:55All right.
14:56Well, uh, better not next year, I guess.
14:58I guess, yeah.
14:59Although I will say, this design here, it looks kind of familiar.
15:03It does.
15:05Hey, you remember when you wanted to celebrate our engagement by getting a tattoo?
15:09Mistakes were made.
15:11Look, we had a little too much fun.
15:13Elizabeth got a tattoo.
15:14Let's check it out.
15:15All right.
15:16If you insist, come close, boys.
15:19You're gonna wanna take a good look.
15:22Underneath Elizabeth's dress, below her garter, is a very specific-looking tattoo.
15:30Oh, my God.
15:31There's a lady...
15:32There's a ladybug on the bottom.
15:37There's jelly, there's a necklace, a kite, everything in the exact right position.
15:42Is it a perfect match?
15:44I think so.
15:45Incredible.
15:46Incredible.
15:47A miracle!
15:48But, um, guys, there's still one more thing that we'd like you to do.
15:54In order to make sure our vision board dreams really do come true, Penn, would you please bless this board with a Latin chant?
16:00We have one written on the back.
16:02Tell her.
16:03Don't help him.
16:04Acepticime alter ut legimuta cum cumem.
16:14That was even close.
16:16You did great.
16:17Not even close.
16:19Do you think it worked?
16:20I do.
16:21I do, too.
16:25Penn, that Latin phrase he wrote, just married us in holy matrimoni.
16:30Oh, my goodness gracious!
16:34Congratulations.
16:36It's not over.
16:37It's not over?
16:38And that sticky note you signed?
16:41That was actually the marriage certificate, legal in the state of Nevada.
16:51All right, Penn, it's official.
16:52What do you say, Penn?
16:53Do you not pronounce us manning wrong?
16:55I sure do.
16:56Okay, and we're gonna need some privacy over here.
16:59Of course.
17:00Yes, okay.
17:01That's better.
17:03That's better.
17:12Thank you, guys, for joining us.
17:16The Cosmic Romantics!
17:21This is definitely a coolest first.
17:23Do you have a cool engagement story for us?
17:25Yes.
17:26He proposed during a needle swallow routine.
17:29Much like Teller's classic.
17:31When he was taking the needles out, there was a ring at the end of it.
17:35I struggled a little bit.
17:36I struggled a little bit.
17:37I struggled a little bit.
17:38So does anybody know what was happening tonight?
17:40I mean, I had to tell my mom.
17:42She's in the end.
17:43I hope so.
17:44Oh, she is?
17:45Well, congratulations to all of you and my brother and some friends.
17:48All right, Eric and Elizabeth.
17:50Let's find out if you're gonna get a Fool Us trophy for your wedding presents.
17:53Let's do it.
17:54Are we ready?
17:55Okay.
17:56We're ready.
17:57Come on, boys.
18:03No pressure, boys.
18:06You are our favorite people in the world.
18:10That was just so wonderful.
18:12You're gonna make me cry again.
18:13We just loved it, loved it, loved it, loved it.
18:15I mean, it was just fabulous.
18:17I said to Teller when we first came up with the idea for this show.
18:21I said, if we go 14 years, someone will probably get married on the show.
18:27So our dream has come true.
18:29Thank you so much.
18:30It was just terrific all the way through.
18:32It reminds me of the story when I almost got married.
18:36It was 1981.
18:38I was in New York City.
18:40I'm not gonna give the woman's name, but she was in Rock and Roll.
18:43The Stones had just come out with the album Tattoo You.
18:47Mick was there, and I was talking.
18:50We were gonna get married.
18:51And Lou Reed, who you may know as one of my best friends,
18:54he was there with me.
18:56And the idea was that Lou was gonna be my best man.
18:59And then he got distracted and ended up trying to drink Mick Jagger under the table.
19:05And it was just chaos.
19:07And I finally made a decision to not get married that night
19:11because of Lou Reed.
19:14So that's when that all fell apart.
19:16But I think you have a much, much better chance of your marriage being just absolutely wonderful.
19:23And as you know, I'm speaking in code.
19:25And you know a lot about speaking in code.
19:27I know you do.
19:28You're probably picking up a few things.
19:30And that brings us around to say that I don't think we're gonna give you a trophy for your wedding present,
19:37but we will get you a Cuisinart.
19:39We're gonna get you a Cuisinart.
19:40We're gonna get you a Cuisinart.
19:41We're gonna get you a Cuisinart.
19:42We're gonna get you a Cuisinart.
19:43We're gonna get you a Cuisinart.
19:44And I think I snuck a few things in there.
19:46Did you figure it out?
19:47Because that could possibly be a real story.
19:48I think so.
19:49I think so.
19:50Do I get a hug?
19:51Aww.
19:57You didn't fool them, but you got a Cuisinart and a kiss from Helen.
20:03Thank you so much.
20:04Congratulations.
20:11Anything can happen up here.
20:12We've gotta take a tiny break, but Fool Us will be right back.
20:30Welcome back.
20:31If you're just joining us, we've had one successful fooler.
20:34Will our next magician be the second?
20:38Hi.
20:39I am Kingsley.
20:40Watching Harry Potter as a kid convinced me that magic was real and that the world could be a magical place.
20:47I wanted to learn everything about it.
20:50The first trick I learned, a simple sponge ball trick, made me feel like I was bringing magic to life.
20:56I was hooked and dedicated eight hours a day to practicing.
21:01I'm from Guangzhou in China and my family has always supported my passion.
21:06They always give me great advice to make my shows better.
21:09Tonight, being here feels like I've stepped into Harry Potter's world, a place where magic truly exists.
21:16Preparing for this show took three years, but even if I don't fool them, I hope my performance leaves Penn and Teller spellbound.
21:25Here's some sleight of hand from Chinese magician Kingsley Shu.
21:37Applause.
26:35How are you?
26:36Good.
26:37So Kingsley, is this your first time in the U.S.?
26:40This is your first time in the U.S.?
26:42Yes.
26:43Yes.
26:44And what made you want to become a magician?
26:45When you practice magic at home, do you practice magic at home, do you practice alone or do you have an audience?
26:55He practices in front of his cat.
26:59You practice in front of your cat?
27:00You practice in front of your cat?
27:01Yes.
27:01Wow.
27:02A magic cat.
27:04A magic cat.
27:05That's amazing.
27:06So, do you get notes?
27:09Do you get feedback?
27:09How does one know?
27:11That's universal.
27:12That's universal.
27:22So, how do you think your cat will react if you bring home a philosophy?
27:25Whoa, meow.
27:26All right, Kingsley, let's find out if you're a fantastic magic trick fooled, cunning teller.
27:36Are you ready?
27:37I'm ready.
27:38Boys, are you ready?
27:39Ah, Kingsley, you know, this is such a wonderful, colorful, terrific act.
27:44We have so many different kinds of acts on this show, and this is one that I really love with all that color and all those effects, and some of them incredibly original.
27:55The walking pen across the table is great.
28:00The Rubik's Cube out of nowhere, just wonderful, and all of it entertaining and crowd-pleasing.
28:06Now, you did a hundred and thirty-seven different tricks in this routine.
28:13Wow.
28:15We are now going to go through them one by one, and every one of them will be a pun or a code word,
28:27and every one will be translated into Chinese one by one, and then you will have those puns
28:36explained to you, and then figure out whether we figured it out or not.
28:40So, first of all, on the very first thing, when you...
28:45I've just been told we don't have time to do all...
28:49137 bilingual puns for that routine, so I'm just going to say you had a lot of techniques.
29:00We're familiar with those techniques, and we love the act, but do not think you fooled us.
29:06It was wonderful.
29:08And they now hate us.
29:09Sorry.
29:10Wonderful.
29:11Well, Kingsley, you didn't fool them, but you were wonderful.
29:15Thank you for being here with us, and good luck to you.
29:17Thank you so much.
29:18Thank you so much.
29:19Kingsley Shue.
29:20Ken and Taylor try to keep their cool confronting war magicians before dazzling us with a trick of their own, so stick around.
29:35Welcome back.
29:50Let's meet our next world-renowned performer.
29:54Hi.
29:56I'm Damien Duby from France.
29:58I'm excited to be in Vegas for my first performance in America.
30:02But no matter where I am, my heart is always in my small hometown, in the French Riviera.
30:09Growing up, magic wasn't seen as a serious pursuit, but it didn't let that stop me.
30:14I learned from older magicians in the one little magic shop in town.
30:18They took me under their wings when I was 13, and they're still my friends today.
30:23Winning first prize for mentalism in the French magic championship was a dream come true.
30:29Next year, I hope to win the world magic championship.
30:32It's another chance to step out of my small town and show the world what I can do.
30:37I hope I fall pen and teller, but as exciting as that would be, the real magic is knowing that my family and friends are cheering me on.
30:45Coming to us from France, say bonsoir to Damien Duby.
30:57Wow.
30:59Hi.
31:00My name is Damien, and my journey as a mentalist has started 25 years ago in an airport.
31:07But before telling you more, I would like to take you on a trip.
31:12Here is four flags from four different countries.
31:16Please take anyone you want.
31:19All right.
31:21This one, and this one for you, Madame.
31:23Perfect.
31:24Now, something is missing, of course.
31:26Before your flight, here is your boarding passes.
31:34Yes.
31:35So please, Madame, with the French flag.
31:39Good choice.
31:40Take a boarding pass.
31:41Nice.
31:42And please put it around your neck and follow me.
31:45Just here.
31:46Yes.
31:47Perfect.
31:48You, sir, with the Japanese flag, please take a boarding pass.
31:53Put it around your neck.
31:56And again, please stand here.
31:59At your turn, Madame, with the USA flag.
32:02Wow.
32:03Take a boarding pass, put it around your neck, and please follow me just here again.
32:09Very nice.
32:10At your turn, sir.
32:12Oh, wait.
32:13Sir, do you want to take this one?
32:16Yes.
32:17I know.
32:18I'm a French mentalist.
32:19All right.
32:20Please, sir, take it and have a look.
32:23Put it around your neck and place here.
32:26Very nice.
32:28Now, everything is ready.
32:30So, welcome to the Degrees Cocktail Bar.
32:36To make yourself at home, please let me buy you a drink.
32:41Here is the little drinks menu.
32:42Now, you will all have to choose one among this list, starting with you, sir, with the
32:49flag.
32:50Please, what is your choice between virgin mojito, orange juice, water, apple juice,
32:56café latte, cranberry juice, iced tea, and delicious strawberry milk.
33:02Let's do the mojito.
33:03Mojito.
33:04Very nice.
33:05Well, in order to remember it, of course, I will pair it with your country, which is the
33:10UK.
33:11Very nice.
33:12At your turn, Madame, please look at me.
33:15Are you ready to order?
33:16Yes.
33:17Yes.
33:18Between these remaining drinks, what is your choice, Madame?
33:21I'll take the café latte.
33:23The café latte.
33:24Very nice.
33:25Fresh prepared.
33:26Here.
33:27Well, the same.
33:28I will pair it with your country, which is the USA.
33:32Nice.
33:33All right.
33:34At your turn, sir, please look at me.
33:38Be focused.
33:39One, two, three, four, five, six remaining drinks.
33:43Are you ready to order?
33:44I am.
33:45What is your choice?
33:46I'll have a water.
33:47Water?
33:48Only water.
33:49Great.
33:50Okay.
33:51With your country, which is the Japanese flag.
33:54Perfect.
33:55And then for you, Madame, with my French flag.
33:58Are you ready to order?
34:00Great.
34:01What is your choice, Madame?
34:02Strawberry milkshake.
34:03Strawberry milkshake.
34:04Strawberry milkshake.
34:05What is a delicious strawberry milkshake?
34:08With the French flag.
34:10Perfect.
34:11Thank you very much.
34:12But now, you've made choices among 40,000 possible combinations.
34:19But you have to know that I also made my choices long before the show began.
34:32And remember, upon your arrival on stage, you choose a flag and then you pick a boarding pass.
34:39But imagine, if with the coffee latte here, my prediction could be the coffee latte.
34:48That would be crazy, right?
34:53So, let's go even further with the water inside.
34:57Have a look.
34:58Oh, yes.
34:59The water.
35:00With the Virgin Marito, maybe we could have, oh, yes, Virgin Marito, of course.
35:07The strawberry milkshake.
35:08What a perfect match.
35:09In fact, I've got a last surprise for you.
35:24Remember, upon your arrival on stage, you choose a flag.
35:28But please, sir, pull on your boarding pass.
35:31Pull on it.
35:32Pull on it.
35:33And open it.
35:34And imagine, if inside your boarding pass with a U.T. flag, we could have the U.T. flag.
35:40That would be crazy.
35:41Let's go with you.
35:43And please do the same.
35:45Pull on it.
35:46Open it.
35:47You've got the U.S.A. flag.
35:48And have a look inside.
35:49I hope to see the U.S.A. flag.
35:50Please, please.
35:51Put on it.
35:52Put on it.
35:53Don't worry about that.
35:54With the Japanese flag, if we've got the Japanese flag inside, that will be a miracle.
36:02Completely.
36:03Please.
36:04Oh, wow.
36:05And of course, Madame, can you do the same?
36:08Can you put on it?
36:09Can you open it?
36:10Can you show to everybody if inside there is the French flag?
36:14The French flag.
36:15Bravo.
36:16Thank you for your help.
36:17You can go back to your seats.
36:18Thank you very much.
36:19Damien Duby, everyone.
36:21Hello, Damien.
36:22Hi.
36:23I understand that you're also an award-winning magician.
36:24Tell us about your awards.
36:25Yes.
36:26You have two hours with this axe, which is brand new for me.
36:39I won the French championship of magic in mentalizing category with a French flag.
36:43This routine.
36:44Wow.
36:45Congratulations.
36:46Thank you very much.
36:47And then after, I did the European championship of magic, where I won an invention award for this routine.
37:01So do you mean that this is all original?
37:03Yes.
37:04This is an act completely original and unique in the world, of course.
37:07Do you perform in America often?
37:09No.
37:10This is my first time in America.
37:12Amazing.
37:16All right, Damien.
37:19Let's see if the boys have figured out how your magic is made.
37:22Penn and Teller.
37:23Ah, Damien.
37:24Nice to meet you.
37:25Good luck, Damien.
37:26Good luck, Damien.
37:27The first thing Teller said when you finished up was, that's a good trick.
37:36Very well laid out.
37:37And it's really, really nice.
37:39Now the problem with this kind of thing, the whole trick is engineered beautifully.
37:43The problem with this kind of trick in figuring it out and designing it is there's only so many ways you can do it.
37:51So Teller and I were going back and forth and finally decided on one.
37:56And then we also worked on the boarding passes.
37:59And I will say again for those people at home that may not understand, we're both wearing microphones.
38:04The whole time we're talking, there's people in a truck outside listening to everything we say.
38:10And when there's a case where we don't really know, we throw it to the judges.
38:16So in this case, we usually get the boo or the tear when we decide whether you win, but we don't know now.
38:24We have no idea whether you fooled us or not until Brooke talks to the truck and they tell her.
38:31So we will sit here in suspense and let the audience decide whether to love or hate the judges.
38:37So this is really cool when this happens because we're going to go to the judges.
38:42Okay.
38:43Okay, so I'm talking to the judges and they're telling me, uh-huh, you did not fool Penn and Teller.
38:52Ooh!
38:54Ooh!
38:55Judges sucked!
38:56That's not for me, that's from the judges.
38:58I loved your act.
38:59Everybody, he was wonderful.
39:03Fantastic act.
39:05Totally amazed.
39:06Thank you so much for being here with us.
39:10Danny and Duby.
39:14Up next, the TV premiere of a routine by the stars of our show Penn and Teller.
39:19Stay close.
39:22Welcome back to Fool Us.
39:23Tonight, our dapper duo will give us another glimpse into the inner workings of magic as they close out our show.
39:40Give it up, everyone, for Penn and Teller.
39:42Hi, boys.
39:43Hey, Brooke.
39:44How are ya?
39:45I'm doing very well.
39:46Are you, Syl?
39:47Great.
39:49You know, Brooke, when you do a show like this, by necessity, you give away some magic secrets.
39:54And some magicians think because we've given away a secret, they can no longer do that trick in their act.
39:59They can no longer use that gimmick.
40:01And we don't think that's true.
40:02For instance, here's a gimmick we really love.
40:04It's called the Peak Deck.
40:05The Peak Deck.
40:06These two decks look just like they're the same, don't they?
40:08They do.
40:09But this one is not.
40:11This is called the Peak Deck.
40:12You can see the top card right through there.
40:14Can I touch it?
40:15Sure, it's just a piece of plastic.
40:16Cool.
40:17Just a piece of plastic.
40:18And you know about that now, but you can still be fooled by it.
40:22That's our whole point.
40:23Would you like to see another technique?
40:24I would, of course.
40:25Here's a prediction here.
40:26Okay.
40:27And we're going to just go through the deck and just say stop whenever you want.
40:30Stop.
40:31So you want that one that's down there or the one in his hand?
40:34This one.
40:35That one down there, all right?
40:36Okay.
40:37Now that's our prediction, the Three of Clubs.
40:38That one down there is the card we predicted.
40:40That's the Three of Clubs.
40:41Oh, that is.
40:42Now if you've gone with the one in the hand that I was trying to get you to go with,
40:46that's the Three of Clubs, and this is the Three of Clubs, and this is the Three of Clubs.
40:51The entire deck is the Three of Clubs.
40:54And that's called a Force, and it's done with all the cards being the same like that,
40:59an entire deck of them.
41:00And you can see that the Force looks pretty stupid when you do it face up.
41:04You do it face up, it's just an insane thing.
41:07Because then, just say stop.
41:09Stop.
41:10Okay.
41:11Now, our prediction there means nothing, unless we tell you this, Brooke,
41:15that our prediction is really on the other side of the card.
41:19And the prediction says you will stop at the last real card.
41:24And you did, Brooke.
41:25You stopped at the last real card.
41:27Because under there is just a pick-up.
41:31So we told you we could fool you again with a pick-up.
41:34And you did.
41:35And we did fool you again with a pick-up.
41:37I love that.
41:38Thanks for giving me an insight.
41:39It's good, guys.
41:40Thanks for watching, and please take a peek at the next episode of Penn & Teller Fool Us.
41:46Good night, everyone, from Las Vegas.
42:18.
