00:03A top Toyota executive has corrected remarks made by President Donald Trump,
00:07who claimed that the automaker had pledged to invest $10 billion in new U.S. auto plants.
00:13While emphasizing Toyota's ongoing commitment to American manufacturing,

00:28two investments made during his first term in office.
00:32Therefore, we didn't specifically say that we'll invest $10 billion over the next few years.

00:44reflecting our principle to build where we sell and buy where we build, the company statement read.
00:50With nearly $50 billion already invested and 49,000 direct employees across the United States,

01:00supply chains, jobs, and customers.
