Trump: 'The Automakers Are Going To Make A Lot Of Money' Thanks To Tariffs

In a press gaggle on Air Force One, President Trump predicted that automakers will make "a lot of money" due to his tariffs.

00:01Mr. President, have you had any more outrage from the automakers?

00:04And are you reconsidering that at all?

00:07No, not at all.

00:08The automakers are going to make a lot of money,

00:11the American automakers or international automakers,

00:16if you're talking about they're going to build in the United States.

00:20The people that are going to make money are people that manufacture cars

00:24in the United States.

00:26Outside of the United States, that's going to be up to them.

00:29I don't care too much about that.

00:31But you have a lot of companies coming into the country to manufacture cars.

00:37As you know, the Auto Workers Union, I did great.

00:39I won Michigan by a lot.

00:42But the Auto Workers Union, they were fantastic to me.

00:44But now they're really fantastic.

00:46And even Sean Fain, who I don't know, but he obviously wasn't a supporter of mine.

00:52He's a Democrat.

00:53He said wonderful things about Donald Trump.

00:56He said, I can't believe this is finally happening.

00:58The people that make, manufacture automobiles in the United States

01:04are going to make money the likes of which they've never seen before.

01:08But beyond that, we have the computer companies, the chip companies,

01:12the pharmaceutical companies.

01:14We have lumber.

01:15We have everything, steel.

01:17They're all going to do really well as long as they do their product

01:21in the United States.
