04:413-1 Spurs.
04:42Dermed love Spurs.
04:44Bu benim için,
04:45hiç bir soru var.
04:47Bu benim için.
04:48Lexi.
04:49Ya Dermed?
04:50So,
04:51I'm one of the Cork Spurs.
04:53That's good, isn't it?
04:54Ya,
04:55I might go to the pub with them,
04:56you know.
04:57I play sport,
04:59I watch it,
05:00and it's my kind.
05:02Dermed has ASD,
05:04and ASD is Autism Spectrum Disorder.
05:07A lot of it is very sensory based,
05:09so how things smell,
05:11how things feel,
05:13the noises,
05:15those all take a very big toll on Dermed.
05:17Hey boys!
05:18But for the most part,
05:19Dermed is really holding his own now at school.
05:22What's up lads?
05:23You alright?
05:24That's good boys.
05:25Dermed will sit down on a Saturday,
05:28he will watch Match the Day,
05:30and he will analyse all the results,
05:33so that then when he is talking to people,
05:35I think he's learned through sports
05:37how to strike up a conversation with people.
05:39I tell you now Holly,
05:40it'll be top class fun,
05:41I tell you now.
05:42I mean,
05:43Dermed's excelling in the school,
05:44I mean,
05:45he's doing his junior cert.
05:46Dermed's the same as everybody else.
05:48Dermed, consistent.
05:50He's a student of the school.
05:51Yeah,
05:52junior cert is going to be
05:53a massive achievement for me.
05:55He really wants to be a good student,
05:57he really wants to show
05:58that he knows the information.
06:00He definitely knows his stuff,
06:01and he's not afraid to talk to teachers,
06:02or talk to anyone.
06:03He's just very straightforward.
06:04Owen,
06:05I'd say Pastor Claudio might go
06:06Vacario,
06:07Paro, Romero,
06:08Van de Ven,
06:09Udagi,
06:10Basuma,
06:11Madison.
06:12Do you know of people who have been cyberbullied?
06:30I think so, yeah.
06:31Cyberbullying has become one of the biggest issues facing teenagers today.
06:37It just causes such anxiety,
06:39because it's like...
06:40And the Leaving Cert students want to create a safety net
06:43for the younger students coming after them.
06:45Bullying happens.
06:47If you get bullied,
06:48here's how to deal with it.
06:49Yeah.
06:50Are we missing that completely?
06:51I feel like there's a big difference,
06:53because bullying has changed over the last few years.
06:55It's always like the adults,
06:56and what we're being taught about in class,
06:57is always like five to ten years behind.
06:59Like, the approach is always how to prevent bullying.
07:02It's always going to happen,
07:03so I think a better approach is,
07:06how do we give a safe space to help students come forward?
07:09Running with that idea of creating a safe space in an online world,
07:14Come on in, folks.
07:15The school has invited in family psychotherapist and author Richard Hogan.
07:20Isn't it much easier to say something about someone behind your screen, isn't it?
07:27People find it easier to bully people online,
07:30because it's not in real life.
07:31People kind of feel like,
07:32oh, they won't actually get hurt,
07:33or nothing bad will actually happen to me.
07:35Online bullying is just like,
07:37you're too scared to say it to their face.
07:39They think they're a big person over the phone,
07:41and they get shy and scared, like, in person.
07:45So they don't have to deal with consequences in real life.
07:48Think your child, you know, would never do that.
07:51They can, and they do.
07:54This is the real problem with cyberbullying,
07:56is that it's in the pocket,
07:57it's up in your bedroom,
07:58but now you're there and your phone is buzzing,
08:00and, you know, people are, you know, saying things about you.
08:03It might have gone viral amongst the school community there.
08:05So that stuff is particularly insidious and problematic
08:08for a, you know, a young person whose whole life
08:11at that age is about being connected
08:13and about being accepted.
08:15You know, you put up an image, let's say,
08:17on TikTok or whatever it is, Instagram,
08:20and everyone goes, gorgeous hun, stunning babe,
08:22I love the lashes hun, XXOO,
08:25oh my God, babe, you're so stunning, right?
08:28And then someone says, your eyelashes are gappy.
08:31Why does a comment hurt, do you think?
08:34I think if you're already insecure in your own head,
08:36someone saying it can reinforce.
08:38If someone points out something
08:39that you're already insecure about in yourself,
08:41all of a sudden that stuff is like,
08:43it's straight in there.
08:45Don't cyberbully.
08:47Go find a hobby.
08:48Yeah, find a hobby.
08:49Get a job, too.
08:50Stop being so concerned about what other people are doing.
08:52Honestly.
08:53Yeah.
08:54Do you ever hear the term bandwagoning?
08:55Have you heard that term?
08:56Do you know what I mean by that?
08:57You say, oh, you say, oh, yeah, she's that,
08:59and she's that, and she's so fake, and she's so this,
09:01and then all of a sudden everyone's going,
09:02yeah, she's so fake,
09:03and then something goes up in line, yeah, going,
09:05this girl, and then a picture of something fake,
09:07and then everyone's liking it.
09:08We're all somehow joining in on somebody being,
09:11like, targeted,
09:12and all of a sudden you're thinking,
09:13like, you're walking to school thinking,
09:14everyone thinks I'm fake here.
09:16It can be profound, can't it?
09:18So fast put on line, like,
09:20it's going to be there forever.
09:21You don't know what you could do now,
09:23with Photoshop and AI and all that stuff,
09:25like, so that could ruin you for life.
09:27The world is scared.
09:28It is.
09:30TY student Nicole has spent more time at home
09:33than in school this year.
09:35Chronic absentee is the word that you would use.
09:37I'm in every single morning.
09:38I just leave.
09:39I am interested in going into either law or psychology,
09:43or possibly politics after school.
09:44Yeah, expectations.
09:45I'll be straight up with you.
09:46You're saying you'd like to go into LCA.
09:47I wouldn't let you inside the door of LCA,
09:48because your attendance is appalling.
09:49Często przez tą panią płakała
09:50i przez tą panią tak naprawdę była niechęć chodzenia do szkoły.
10:05Being a part of, like, organising the prom is really enjoyable,
10:13and it is something that you do get a good laugh out of.
10:20In an effort to make her stay just a little bit longer,
10:23Paul is channelling Nicole's passion for fashion
10:26through the TY Prom Organising Committee.
10:29There's a lot of work to do.
10:30We have to make sure that we have everything gathered together
10:33and then actually make sure it all works
10:35and then get it all set up.
10:40This side.
10:41They're slightly closer together.
10:43That's grand.
10:44Oh, my God.
10:45Them ones are too close, not these.
10:46They were too close.
10:47Then you moved it to for our house.
10:49You could have told me.
10:51When she's here, she can be really, really good.
10:53You know, there will be times where we just don't want to be there
10:56or it's a bad day and so on.
10:58That's part of the learning.
11:00The only place she can do that is in here.
11:02One student who's walked in Nicole's shoes is Alana.
11:08Alana?
11:09Yeah.
11:10Is that you with a book open studying?
11:14Tis, girl.
11:15I'm always studying.
11:16Marie, what are you going to do?
11:17It's hard making all these decisions when you're so young still,
11:19like, you know?
11:20Yeah, but at the same time...
11:21Like, your future is in your hands now when you're still so young
11:23to be dealing with all that.
11:24You'd hate to find yourself in that situation, 18, 19, and, like,
11:27have a dream that you're really passionate about, but you can't.
11:29Just because when you were 16, you just weren't on the move
11:31to the Leaving Cert like Janine.
11:32If no one's on the move to the Leaving Cert, I didn't want to do it either.
11:35I feel like I just don't really have the motivation or the energy for it.
11:38Like, I feel like if I...
11:39Well, currently.
11:40But, like, I didn't afford it.
11:41I didn't either.
11:42But, like, my attendance has gone so bad either, and I'm not going to be able to get back
11:45into, like, a routine.
11:46Like, I feel like either way, like, whether do I do the Leaving Cert or I'll say, like,
11:49I won't get much further or better with the Leaving Cert.
11:52What?
11:53Girl, you can't be thinking about it.
11:55No.
11:56Because I don't, like, I'm not an academic person.
11:58Yeah, but you're limiting yourself.
11:59You're being like, I can't get any further.
12:00I can't get any better.
12:01You're only 16 years of age.
12:03You can't limit your whole life now.
12:04Like, your life's only starting.
12:06There's definitely way more opportunities available by doing the traditional Leaving Cert,
12:09like, you know?
12:10I mean, I'll do it if she'll do it.
12:12You can't make major life decisions based on what your friends are doing.
12:17Nicole has made a decision that, you know, certain things are not worth her time.
12:22Now, we and I will challenge that on a regular basis because if she goes through life like
12:28that, then she's going to have some battle.
12:30Coming up, it's the last day in school for the class of 2025.
12:36Woo!
12:37And Luke is going out with a bang.
12:39I will be here.
12:43I'll call the cat.
12:45Always Discreet.
12:46Strong Protection.
12:47Incredible Discretion.
12:48Always Discreet.
12:49Strong Protection.
12:50Incredible Discretion.
12:51Always Discreet.
12:52Strong Protection.
12:53Incredible Discretion.
12:54Today is an emotional day for the sixth years at CCS.
12:58It's absolutely fantastic to see you here.
13:13This is a really important day in the life of the school.
13:16Woo!
13:17Well done.
13:18Emotional.
13:19I'm a wreck.
13:20I was bawling in the car.
13:21I was bawling last night.
13:22But it's fine.
13:23I'm keeping it together as of now.
13:24Luke O'Meara.
13:25It hasn't really hit me yet anything.
13:26It doesn't feel like the last day.
13:40Graduation day is really important to the students.
13:43The teachers and the parents to mark the passing of these students through the school.
13:48Oh my God.
13:49Hysterical.
13:50I stopped crying.
13:51She started crying and I looked over at her and then I started crying and I was in the
13:56front row.
13:57I was like, no, allow me to catch.
13:59I always cry at that, but a lady gave me a tissue.
14:03Oh my God, look at us in first year.
14:19Smiles and graduation certs mark the end of their years in Cargilline.
14:23But there's still time for one last musical performance.
14:27It's Luke's teacher-student super group.
14:30I'm buzzing.
14:34I'm absolutely buzzing.
14:35It's going to be good.
14:42And I was just watching him and he was just so absorbed in it and he was really enjoying
14:45it and the singing was lovely, so it was very emotional.
14:48But then, of course, he got the opportunity to play the drums and I like I couldn't take
14:52my eyes off him.
15:00And you know what?
15:01It was absolutely brilliant.
15:02It was the best we had played, I think, through all the rehearsals.
15:12But I think it's nice to be kind of playing out to school because music was a big part
15:18of my TCS experience, really.
15:34Although he spends the majority of his time in mainstream classes, Diarmuid also works
15:40individually with resource teacher, Mr O'Donovan.
15:44Which kid do you want to start first?
15:46Red or green?
15:47I'll go with the green ones.
15:48Green.
15:49Right.
15:50Will we do a bit of Irish as we do it?
15:52Of course, yes.
15:54Right.
15:55Super.
15:56Right.
15:57Out with the green Gansies there.
15:59What's green in Irish again for me, Diarmuid?
16:02Um…
16:03Gloss.
16:04Gloss?
16:05Right.
16:06Let's get out the Gansies glass.
16:07I honestly think he's by far the best fella to have a talk with.
16:12What's Irish for a player?
16:15Imroar.
16:16Imroar.
16:17And Imroar is he?
16:19He.
16:20In French?
16:21An.
16:22Lovely.
16:23He's so bright, so caring, so loving, and just as a quality.
16:28If we mark him by that, he's amazing, he's a brilliant human being.
16:33Today also marks the school's first mixed ability rugby training session.
16:39We knew that there was two or three lads within the school that wanted to play mixed
16:43ability rugby and we said, you know what, let's have a go of it.
16:46You know, you're not excluding them because they have an additional need.
16:50They're playing and they're being part of a squad and they're being treated the exact
16:54same.
16:55Set.
16:56And Diarmuid is in his element.
17:00I actually feel like this is really going to work out this year, so I'm hoping fairly
17:04soon we might be able to get him into the jersey and get him represented in the school.
17:08Three, two, one, set.
17:09You're not sick here, mate.
17:10Two stunts.
17:11I was too close.
17:12Do you want to have another go?
17:13We'll do one more.
17:14Do you want to have another go?
17:15Do you want to have another go?
17:16Do you want to have another go?
17:17We'll do one more.
17:21Nooo!
17:22I'm ready.
17:23I'm ready.
17:24I'm ready.
17:25Like that.
17:26Like that.
17:27It's not like that.
17:28It's not like that.
17:29They're like right at the start.
17:30Has it hit you, like, has it proper, like, are you getting hungry?
17:31Do you know what it is?
17:32Just wake up your lips is dry, you're just thirsty in the morning.
17:33It's a wait.
17:34So what time do you guys pray at?
17:35Like how many prayers do you have a day?
17:36Five.
17:38Fast and all that.

32:41Always discreet, strong protection, incredible discretion.
32:53Always discreet, strong protection, incredible discretion.
33:01After a grueling two weeks of exams, it's Alana's last day in Kargiline.
33:07And she's ready to start looking at her school days in the rearview mirror.
33:12All done. Just finished my last exam.
33:18Every decision I've made for the last two or three years has been leading up to this day.
33:22And it's just kind of, it's very overwhelming so like it just doesn't hit ya.
33:27I didn't think it was going to happen. Ask my mother, ask anyone, no one thought I was going to get to it.
33:31And I did.
33:33My god, I thought this day would never come.
33:36Oh, yeezy flowers. Brilliant.
33:39Ahhhh!
33:41Anyway, it's all over, done with and I am so happy.
33:44And we can start getting on with our lives that we get.
33:47Oh done! Oh! Praise the lord!
33:49Mixed emotions about leaving but, all I know is that I'm definitely ready for what's next.
33:54Welcome to the big bad world.
33:58With his Leaving Cert also behind him, Luke has decided to take a year out.
34:11But first, a chance to reflect on just how far he's come.
34:15I think I did a Leaving Cert I'd be happy with.
34:18And I don't know if the Leaving Cert, like, somebody else would be happy with but it's what I'm happy with.
34:22100% ADHD medication was the job.
34:25Next is hopping on a flight straight to Fort Ventura in the Canaries.
34:32Get that for him.
34:34Oh no.
34:35That was my, like, this is like my learner's permit.
34:38Our family is big into scuba diving from my dad's side.
34:41So now I'm off with all my gear for six months to be an instructor to take people out on dives.
34:51Oh, I'm buzzing. I'm so excited.
34:55It's time for the first day of the next chapter of Luke's life.
35:00Half of my school days behind me is definitely an odd feeling but it's a good one.
35:05I'm not looking backwards, I'm only looking forward.
35:07I'm gassed. I'm so excited.
35:10Oh, look, it's been fine. The bedroom is emptied, literally emptied.
35:15House will be quiet for them.
35:17House will be quiet.
35:18No, I'm delighted.
35:19Plenty hot water as well.
35:20Plenty hot water, yeah.
35:27We are immeasurably proud.
35:30I'd say we'll hear from Luke when there's mild crisis.
35:34Yeah, everybody needs money.
35:36Yeah, mild crisis.
35:40He's a good kid.
35:41He's a wonderful kid.
35:42And again this week so many things have happened that make you look at him and think,
35:47well, he's just a wonderful kid and yeah, we're very proud.
35:50It's also a massive end of year moment for Diarmid as he gets to line out for the school.
36:06I think sometimes with schools people can underestimate the effect that extracurricular activities can have,
36:13whether it's sports or drama or whatever it is.
36:15Very best of luck to you, lads.
36:17And obviously you're investing a lot of your own time into it and some people, you know, they're willing to put that time in.
36:22Other people, you know, they've got other stuff in their lives that they want to invest their time into.
36:26For me, I'm delighted I can invest my time into something like the rugby within the school.
36:33And it's a privilege to give that time because you feel like you're actually doing your job.
36:37Right, gents, grab your gear bags and everything from the boot, please.
36:41It's just a very normal school that do extraordinary things.
36:45Right, Diarmid, on you when you're ready.
36:47Get ready, get ready, get ready.
36:48Go on, Olin, let's pump those legs now.
36:50That's it, that's it, go on.
36:51Getting mixed ability to rugby up and running into school, I think it's so important.
36:55It's never going to go away now.
36:56Clear off now, Diarmid, that's it, clear off, clear off.
36:58Well done, Diarmid, good stuff.
36:59And that's what rugby is about.
37:00Everyone being welcome and feeling like they're part of a group.
37:04Forward.
37:05Can you drop me on my arse for a second there?
37:07I play rugby for Balancholic Warriors.
37:10My role is sent forward.
37:13Ready, ready, ready, go.
37:15It's like where you have to go on the wing and stop the attackers from coming up.
37:20Drive on as much as possible and then go down.
37:24I need a little bit of aggression, okay?
37:27One, two, three.
37:28Go on boys, get out there.
37:32Stop.
37:33In with Eric, let's go.
37:34Go on Eric, chase it now.
37:36Go, go.
37:37Get after him Alex.
37:39Diarmid wants to win, he is fiercely compassionate.
37:42That's ridiculous, that's the other way.
37:45Go Caelan.
37:46He digs deep for everybody.
37:49He wants them to succeed.
37:51Yes, we're on.
37:52We're done lads.
37:53On the build up to him coming onto the pitch, he might as well be another court.
37:58That's at least a yellow card.
38:00He is giving out advice, he is telling lads what to do.
38:03Put him out.
38:04Get the ball off him lads.
38:06He is just so invested in the team.
38:10Go on, you're gone, you're gone.
38:13It is a joy to see.
38:15Go!
38:16Woo!
38:17We're back in it.
38:18Yeah, I definitely should be a commentator when I grow up.
38:22Now we need another one out back, Aaron.
38:24I think we need to keep going at him and then we might get tries if we keep going like that.
38:30But we need to show a little bit of aggression to get back.
38:33It's time for Diarmuid to finally walk the walk.
38:37We'll put him on the pitch.
38:38It's time I get them boys.
38:40The eyebrows go down, he is determined.
38:43Okay, Diarmuid is ready.
38:45I'm going on.
38:46I'm going on.
38:47He is going over the whitewash.
38:48Let's go Diarmuid Daniel, let's go!
38:50Let's go Diarmuid!
38:52It felt really good coming on.
38:55That brightens my day up really.
38:57Let's go Diarmuid, big scrum!
38:59That's it David, come on!
39:01He's going to corner, flag it!
39:03We nearly had it but we didn't.
39:06Right, in you go lads, shake hands.
39:08Hard luck today, look.
39:10My favourite part was just like coming on and like helping the boys like push on
39:15and showing some good fighting spirits and all.
39:19Well done boys, give yourselves a round of applause.
39:20And someday we will win some more matches.
39:22Today wasn't that day but you know what, it didn't matter because
39:25for Diarmuid getting on that pitch and representing the school,
39:28I think everyone that was there with him, that was the win that they wanted.
39:33How did you find today?
39:34Great, at least we put up an effort like...
39:36Do you know what we did?
39:37Diarmuid's had the best year and we get to have three more years of it.
39:41I've had an absolute fantastic year from my point of view.
39:45I need to teach you to be a greedy rugby player.
39:48And I think Mr O'Donovan, he doesn't see him as a child with autism,
39:52he sees him as Diarmuid, who goes to shoot...
39:57Sorry.
39:59Yeah, I'd say I'll do it in the cup now.
40:01Cup competition, so you're going to get greedy from me.
40:03Yeah, if I was going to give this a score, I would give it 10 out of 10.
40:07We'll make it happen Diarmuid, we'll get ourselves a win.
40:10Lovely.
40:11Doomsday is here, Mother.
40:24The day Alana has been dreading has arrived.
40:27I know, this is great.
40:29I'd say it'll be fine, I'm like, my heart's going a bit like, whatever.
40:33I'm excited for it.
40:34Will you have a cup of tea?
40:35I will, absolutely, Jesus Christ.
40:37I have to go to all my major life events with a cup of tea.
40:41For Luke, Leaving Cert Results Morning lands with a splash.
40:47Everything happens for a reason anyway.
40:49Do you know what?
40:50Whatever she gets, it'll be grand.
40:53Yeah.
40:57Okay, let's see in a minute.
40:59All these emotions are going to come out now.
41:01I'm going to end up screaming some of my results.
41:05Login failed.
41:10All right, ready?
41:11Okay.
41:17Oh, my God!
41:20Okay.
41:21The higher the number is, the better.
41:22All right.
41:23H3, H3.
41:25French, I thought that was 04, 05 territory.
41:28Business, I didn't think that was H2.
41:30Home Ec, I thought that was maybe H4.
41:32Oh, my God!
41:33I have so many people like, this is the best I could have done.
41:36And it's higher, 1, or 5.
41:37What a result for Alana.
41:39Just amazing what she has done.
41:41She's a force to be reckoned with.
41:43Kerrygline Community School won't be the same without her.
41:45Oh, what?
41:46Irish, 04.
41:47English, H2.
41:48Maths, H5.
41:49German, H4.
41:50Physics, H5.
41:51Okay.
41:52Engineering, H2.
41:53Music, H3.
41:54Dude.
41:55I haven't done the points yet, but that's not bad, is it?
41:56Got a H1 anyway, in politics, which was like...
41:59I always thought I got a H1 in politics.
42:01And I'm so proud.
42:02I'm so proud.
42:03We've got some crazy points.
42:04If she's happy, I'm happy.
42:05And she has enough points by all accounts to get her course.
42:07So, all is good?
42:08485.
42:09That's good, isn't it?
42:10625 is the maximum.
42:11Good count.
42:12And when Luke is the only one, he's the only one.
42:14I haven't done the points yet, but that's not bad, am I?
42:16Got a H1 anyway, in politics, which was like...
42:17I always thought I got a H1 in politics.
42:18And I'm so proud.
42:19I'm so proud.
42:20I bet I got some crazy points.
42:22If she's happy, I'm happy.
42:24And she has enough points by all accounts to get her course.
42:27So, all is good?
42:29485.
42:30That's good, isn't it?
42:31And when Luke comes up for air...
42:34Very happy with the results, guys.
42:36Everybody at home, if you're wondering, H5 in maths.
42:39Which is absolutely delighted with it.
42:41So, Mr. Romani, thank you very much.
42:44To see him get the results that he got at the end of it,
42:46not just pass, but actually really well in maths
42:48and Lehman Circle higher level, it was a joy to see.
42:55You can't believe it.
42:56We're absolutely over the moon for him.
43:00I do know this.
43:03That coming out of the Leaving Cert without a feeling of shame,
43:07a sense of shame, you know, and really understanding,
43:10even for ADHD people, that's really hard, I think.
43:13So, yeah, we're delighted he gets to leave it behind him
43:15and move on with his life.
43:17Hey, Dad, how are things?
43:20Is that a bad, aren't you glad?
43:21Great, I just got the results there, Dad.
43:23It went the best it could have gone.
43:24Seriously.
43:25Your God, I split it up.
43:26You know, you see this date when you're on, like,
43:285th or, you know, 22nd of August, 2025,
43:31or whatever year we have now, and you're like,
43:33yeah, whatever, like, when you actually get here,
43:35it's ridiculous.
43:36Luke, signing out.
43:38See you in the future.
43:45What a year it's been for Carragalline Community School.
43:48Do you know what?
43:49I love coming in here every day.
43:51Morning, four cheers.
43:52I'm really proud of this school.
43:54I'm really proud of what we do.
43:55The what is about this school,
43:57but I just think the students have a phenomenal sense of humour.
44:01It's like a different world.
44:02It's like you're in a protective bubble.
44:05I think it's the best thing in the world ever.
44:08School is a community.
44:09It's about bringing people together,
44:11getting them to feel like they're part of something.
44:15People often say, like,
44:16it's not a job that you do for the money.
44:17Like, it's vocation and you get into a gig like this
44:20to see kids progress and to help them as best you can.
44:22You know, I think everyone here in Carragalline
44:24is very invested in that.
44:28It's an absolute privilege to work with young people.
44:31It really keeps you in touch with what's going on.
44:36It's one of those weird emotional roller coasters.
44:40You start off with a year group that you hardly know
44:41and then it builds, it builds, it builds,
44:43and then suddenly it's done.
44:49It was a great experience.
44:54Yeah, just don't follow me anywhere else, lads.
44:58Follow me on TikTok or Instagram.
45:00Cut, cut, get rid of it.
45:02Crime journalist Nicola Tallent spills her guts
45:19on keeping her nerve in the series finale of Living With Lucy,
45:22up next on Virgin Media Play and One.
45:52And so, let's go through it depth andından here.
45:53And I was wondering the Berry Tribune.
45:55How far romance won the Moose?
45:57I feel it nearby when you start-up.
46:01You're so not all I know.
46:02And the only way that you are being supported.
46:04And that is with my Lat Berger.
46:06It's RBF.
46:07How about this?
46:09How about those любовations?
