00:00On June 19th of 2024, a case of being in the right place at the right time would occur for
00:12law enforcement on the scene. But the encounter with the suspect wouldn't end so peacefully.
00:19Let's take a look at the shocking story and find out what actually happened.
00:24As you drive down the road, occasionally you may see a police car parked
00:29and ponder what they're doing behind those tinted windows.
00:33On some occasions they are passively patrolling the areas, other times they're taking a much-needed
00:38break from the stress of the job. But when serious police matters arise, then it's pedal to the
00:44metal. And that would be the case in Bisbee, Arizona. As a state trooper vehicle was sitting
00:50idle in a Circle K parking lot, a woman in distress came running toward the car after exiting a green
00:57sedan that had just sped off. She told the officer she was kidnapped and assaulted by the driver of
01:04the vehicle, who was later identified as 27-year-old Jacob Patrick Netherby.
01:10The state trooper would call for medical services for the woman and report the green sedan.
01:16To his surprise, information came back of the vehicle matching a description regarding a troubling event.
01:21The same car possibly was involved in a homicide that happened earlier in the day, in Tucson, Arizona.
01:30With the recent report from the state trooper, more officers was on the lookout for the vehicle.
01:35A deputy across town was able to spot the car in question leaving a Chevron gas station.
01:41He attempted to perform a traffic stop on the suspect. However, the driver was not interested in
01:47stopping for the sirens. Instead, he would provoke a police chase. As the driver fled, during the
01:54pursuit, he would fire rounds through his back and side windows. Nearby law enforcement in the area
02:00responded to the shots fired call.
02:03Hey, if there's anyone near Barnett Road, CCSO has shots fired at them from a possible homicide
02:09suspect shot at the CCSO deputy's vehicle. Took a right on Catherine.
02:17By Deer Point. Is it downtown? So I'm heading that way now, up just north of Deer Point.
02:23I'm coming up. Who's got a visual? Hey, sounds like the suspect is a possible one
02:31at a homicide suspect, so be careful you use arms. While attempting to evade the police units,
02:36the driver would turn onto a dead-end road. The responding officers identified his error
02:42and blocked off the road going back. However, the driver decided to take a minor detour off-road
02:49and fired more bullets out of the window. Law enforcement would return fire in this instance.
02:56The green sedan would stop in a nearby field across the road.
02:59Don't move! Don't move!
03:06Put your hands where I can see him!
03:08Keep your hands where I can see him!

03:28Let me see it.
03:31Show me your f***ing hands.
03:34Okay.
03:36.
03:38The suspect would be removed from the car after receiving a fair
03:56amount of damage.
04:26The suspect would receive more medical treatment once EMS arrived on the scene.
04:56Grab the gurney, let's load and go!
05:03We're not in veins.
05:05We're probably going to have to drill in, so that's what it is.
05:11We're just going to try and get the gurney over here, get him on as quick as we can and
05:14we'll start working on the station.
05:19Does anybody have anything else, gauze or something, just to kind of squint up this
05:24ruse right quick and we'll...
05:25Oh yeah, absolutely.
05:26Is this something hard to keep it from getting any worse if we can here?

06:10Go Everything, breathe.
06:13I got my son.
06:16He was transported to the hospital via helicopter and would make a full recovery.
06:26In August 2024, Netherby was indicted by a Pima County Grand Jury on first-degree
06:32premeditated murder in connection with the death of Christopher Crishaw.
06:37He also faces additional weapons-related charges,
06:40and the case remains pending in Pima County Superior Court.
06:44What are your thoughts on this wild story?
06:48Was there another solution to the matter?
06:51Or did the officers do what they could, given the circumstances?
