00:00To the top and grab that 15,000 euro cash prize and the title of Ireland's Fittest Family 2025.
00:17Welcome to Ireland's Fittest Family.
00:20We're back at our base camp in Gormanstown, County Mead, and it's the second of our heats in this year's competition.
00:25Last week, OG coach and three-time winner Anna Geary and newbie coach Michael Darragh McCauley kicked off this year's competition as they went head-to-head in our first heat.
00:38After three nail-biting events and some intense rivalry, it was Michael Darragh who got his two families through, leaving Anna with just one family left in the competition.
00:48Michael Darragh, what a way to kick it off, two families through to the quarter-finals.
00:51Two for two, absolutely buzzing.
00:53This week, it's the turn of former Ireland teammates and Munster Ulster rivals Doneco Callaghan and Andrew Trimble.
01:00In our final heat next week, it's Fittest Family veteran David Fitzgerald versus Paralympic swimming champion Ellen Keane.
01:10Andrew has 70 caps for Ireland. I've 94, you know.
01:14We've Andrew Trimble in as well this year, like, what an athlete, what a rugby player, incredible.
01:21Ultimately, whenever you get out there in the heat of the battle, I know I'm going to get fired up, excited and flustered.
01:25Doneco is a massive character in Ireland for the family, you know, he's a real funny guy.
01:30Andrew coming in now, though, might challenge him with that title, because he's also a funny guy, he loves to mess.
01:35My only experience of coaching, I suppose, is coaching my 10-year-old and his mini rugby team.
01:40And my coaching style with that would be generally to be ignored.
01:44Each coach has two families in tonight's competition.
01:47Doneco's families are the Linehans from Cork and the Hickeys from Dublin.
01:52Andrew's families are the Hilliards from Kildare and the McKennas from Monaghan.
01:55Done-Iran!
02:01Andrew Trimble!
02:03Hi!
02:04Very welcome along!
02:05Yeah, great to be here.
02:06So you guys obviously go way back. You used to be teammates.
02:09You're going to show Andrew the ropes, you know?
02:11Yeah, I know you're trying to build us up as like enemies, and we are when we played against each other, but we're kind of frenemies.
02:18Frenemies are worse than enemies, Dianas
02:19I didn't know that.
02:20Don't let her get in your head, that's not true.
02:21It is your first time on Ireland's Willis Family, how are you feeling?
02:25I'm good, I'm good. Nice to meet the families.
02:27I got this look from the McKennas, they're from Monaghan,
02:29and I got this look that I recognise I've seen before,
02:31and it's a look that says, why can't you be Tommy Boat?
02:38Tonight, all families will compete in two events, Box to the Top and in Biff.
02:43Box to the Top will have two heaps, both with one family from each coach going head-to-head.
02:49The losing families will be given a 20-second time penalty for the second event.
02:53The two families with the best times in in Biff will go straight through to the quarter-finals.
02:58The slowest families will battle it out in our army eliminator for their remaining place in the quarter-finals.
03:06First up, it's Andrew's family, the McKennas from County Monaghan.
03:10We entered Ireland's family because we think we have a chance in winning.
03:14The secret rabbit hole definitely calling. She's late, she's fast, she'll be nimble.
03:18If you were looking for me, you'd never find me in the house, no.
03:20It's the last place you'd go looking for me.
03:23I'd much prefer to be outside, let it be on my bicycle, out hiking a mountain, out for a walk, a run.
03:29Caelan, he'd be very into the sheep and the farming side of it.
03:32He, at a young age, he took a sheep farming and he played football.
03:36And same as all of us, handball and rugby.
03:39Cormac is a very, very relaxed person.
03:41Very, very hard to get a raise out of Cormac, but Cormac just goes with the flow.
03:45He'll not steal the attention or anything, he'll just, whatever's happened, he'll float with us.
03:49I think we can definitely win Ireland's for this family.
03:52That's why we've entered.
03:54Next up, it's Jonah Kesel-Linnehan from County Cork.
03:57We're a fairly competitive family when it comes to all games, out in the garden, board games inside.
04:03We always like beating each other.
04:05Dad's a big golfer, he's golfing all of his life.
04:07He'll be fairly fit too, he goes for his runs there a couple times a week.
04:11Goes to the gym as well, he'll be fairly active.
04:13For touching up on 60, he's not doing too bad.
04:15Rory is generally an all-rounder, he's very good at everything.
04:19He has an older brother who he's always trying to out-achieve.
04:24There's great rivalry between them.
04:26So whatever Sean does, Rory will try and do better.
04:30Ava's probably the fittest.
04:31She does a lot of long running and cardio, so hopefully that could come in handy.
04:36She's very good at the plank stuff like that, balance and flexibility.
04:39If there's anything to do with that, she'll be very strong.
04:43Sean's very strong, he likes going to the gym.
04:45And he started MMA recently.
04:47Sean would definitely be the strongest, but in terms of speed, I'd say Rory would be up there.
04:53We've been training really hard, we've been trying to do as much running as we can.
04:56And going to the gym and even swimming, just in case anything comes our way.
05:03Sandbags, sweat and seriously steep hills.
05:06Oh, and a box.
05:07Welcome to Box to the Top.
05:09Tonight, members of the Irish Defence Forces will demonstrate this test of strength, strategy and stamina.
05:16One person from each family starts the race standing on an army kit box in the sea.
05:21On the sound of the horn, they must jump off the box, pick it up and run with it to their remaining family members.
05:27With the family are four 15kg sandbags.
05:31Between them, they must carry the sandbags and the box through the rest of the course.
05:35Next, it's a 200m run broken up by crawls through two army camo nets.
05:40Once through them, it's a run up a hill and onto a platform.
05:43The sandbags have to be placed inside the box and the lid closed.
05:46When all the family members are on the platform, they go down a ladder and up a wall.
05:51Finally, it's a run up a steep bank.
05:53When all four family members are standing at the top of the bank, they win the race.
05:57The losing family will carry a 20-second time penalty into the next event.
06:07We have a strategy in place.
06:09We're going to stick all the sandbags in the box, give it to Keelan and Cormac,
06:13and let them run, and then let the girls get ahead and create a bit of a tunnel in the net.
06:19It's going to be Cormac standing out in the box to start the event.
06:22He'd be probably a bit faster than me.
06:25We were up against a good family there.
06:26It looked tough, so try our best.
06:2820 seconds actually might not be that big a deal.
06:31You said that to Joshman.
06:34Nerves aren't too bad at the minute, but at the start of the race, I'd say they'll be going.
06:3890.
06:39I'm a bit nervous about the first race.
06:41I think the cargo nets are going to be harder than people think.
06:45The teams we're up against do seem very good, but at the same time we're very confident in ourselves,
06:49so hopefully we can win the first round anyway.
06:51I think it's about speed and agility really, so I would say probably Ava.
06:56She would be the fastest, and I think she'd fly through those nets.
07:00Might have a bit of trouble here, but anyway.
07:04Starting in red, it's Cormac McKenna, and in yellow, Sean Linehan.
07:07We are ready to go for our first race of the day on Gormonston Beach.
07:12Three, two, one.
07:15Box to the top begins.
07:17Paul O'Donovan gets our competitors underway.
07:20Two 19-year-olds here starting this race, and they are right beside each other.
07:27And the terrain gets a little bit trickier from here.
07:31That box is tricky to handle.
07:34So Cormac McKenna in red is up to the rest of his family.
07:38And the McKennas from Monaghan have opened up a little bit of a lead.
07:40The first of these 100-meter sprints.
07:42Well done.
07:43It's a lovely day in County Meath.
07:47So this is Colleen McKenna out in front for her family, and Ava Linehan is pushing hard too.
07:52What is interesting is the McKennas have put the sandbags into the box.
07:56The Linehans are carrying them.
07:58So this is the camo net crawl.
08:01Nice, Colleen.
08:02So Ava Linehan threw that already, and she's gone.
08:06There's a little bit of assistance for the McKennas.
08:08They have two of those nets, as you can see.
08:09And the lads have got to get the box through with them.
08:13This is not easy at all.
08:15So there's good teamwork from the McKenna family in red.
08:18Help your dad, help your dad.
08:19And here's the rest of the sandbags for the Linhans.
08:23Army kit box is empty for the Linhans family.
08:26What are you doing, Sean?
08:27Sean, get out!
08:29As always, the role of the coaches here is very important.
08:32Calm, clear instructions.
08:34So the McKennas have opened up a nice lead, haven't they?
08:37Take your time, guys.
08:38Take your time.
08:38We've got the lead.
08:39So Andrew keeping them calm.
08:43That's a bit confused from the Linhans.
08:45The sandbags are an issue, and the strategy isn't working, carrying those bags.
08:50The McKennas have seen the difference.
08:51They've put the bags inside that box, and they have a big lead.
08:55But the Linhans are closing, or trying to.
09:00So the McKennas try to get up to the top of this wall, and then there's a steep bank in front of them.
09:07They are in pole position here.
09:08They've been very fast, and they've made this look straightforward, and it certainly isn't.
09:12What about the performance of mum, Sharon McKenna?
09:15She's first up to the top.
09:16Very, very impressive performance, and it's a victory for the McKennas.
09:20If they win, the Linhans family from Cork didn't get that right at all.
09:24They'll carry a 20-second time penalty into the next event.
09:27It was just a great close.
09:29It was very exciting.
09:30It was fun.
09:31There were wee powerhouses, the three of them, so they are.
09:33We stuck to the plan, and it ended up working for us very well.
09:36Bring on time, Pratt.
09:37Feeling good, yeah.
09:38Well, Andrew, congratulations.
09:40You guys won the first race.
09:42It has to feel good.
09:42I'm feeling great at the minute.
09:44I think we're probably feeling a little bit bulletproof.
09:47The two lads got off and just so strong on the carry, and then the two girls, but they're
09:51technically getting the net up.
09:53A lot of things fell into place, so they did brilliantly.
09:56Jonathan, as you well know, this is only round one, and a lot can change.
10:02Of course, but I think they got it so right.
10:04To be fair, it was a brilliant performance.
10:06Credit where credit is due.
10:07At the end of the day, they were just a better family.
10:10It was all over really quick.
10:11I think I was expecting a longer race, and then all of a sudden we heard their falcon.
10:15There is a 20-second time penalty going into the next event.
10:17You do have to work a lot harder.
10:19How are you feeling about that, that 20-second penalty?
10:21Yeah, 20 seconds.
10:23Probably a long way to come back from.
10:25You smugness is frightening.
10:26Honestly, stranger things have happened on Fiddles' family.
10:29Sorry for being so cocky.
10:31Yeah, look, you know, it could be the other way next time around.
10:34So watch out, Andrew.
10:34We're coming to get you.
10:35The next race is about to start.
10:38Now, can Andrew get another family over the line first,
10:42or will Dunnicka make a spectacular second half comeback?
10:47Andrew's second family are the Hilliards and County Kildare.
10:50My dad decided to apply for the show.
10:52He's been talking about it for years.
10:53As long as I've been watching the show, I dream to be actually taking part.
10:57Alan is, I'd say she's like the strongest of us all now,
11:00but I think that she would never say that herself.
11:03Just seeing how she kind of pushes herself is, for me, like, super inspirational.
11:08The big reason as to why myself and the girls are willing to take part in the show
11:12is because of the influence that my mum and dad have had on us both,
11:16in particular my dad, because he's always been active.
11:20Me, Alana and Julia are all part of the same gym,
11:22and we go a couple times a week.
11:24We're all kind of along the same kind of strength levels then as well.
11:28I think we will work really well together as a team.
11:30I mean, we're used to training together in the gym,
11:32and certain competitions will take part there.
11:34We're often paired up together,
11:35so I do think that that will definitely, like, help within the competition itself.
11:39I think people might underestimate that team, you know,
11:42and they might think, oh, it's just all girls.
11:44Well, I think we might surprise a few people.
11:46We won't fear anybody.
11:47We will be giving them everything we can.
11:49Donica's next family are the Hickeys from County Dublin.
11:52To be honest, I couldn't believe it, but really excited to give it a go,
11:55and it's really nice to do something together as a family.
11:58Like, Conor, without a doubt, definitely he'll be our secret weapon.
12:00He's got a youth on his side.
12:02He's also extremely competitive as well, very fast.
12:05Our biggest strength is, like, our fitness.
12:07We're all, like, able to, like, keep up with each other and help each other, so.
12:10Cindy will be the team leader.
12:12She's super competitive, a good leader, and is a strong runner.
12:15We all do park run.
12:16Jodie kind of shows up, says he does no training,
12:19and absolutely hair off at these amazing times.
12:22But it's very confessive.
12:24Ruby is my younger sister.
12:26We go to the gym together.
12:28We run together.
12:28It'll be amazing to win something together as a family.
12:31A lot of believe to achieve,
12:32and I definitely think we all have the determination to win, so, yeah.
12:36Go Hickeys! Woo-hoo!
12:37Yay!
12:43The Leeds are going to be great.
12:45It's a good group.
12:46Really connected with the families and looking forward to seeing what we can do out there.
12:49To have Andrew as a coach is just incredible for us as a family.
12:53Chalk, chalk, tick, stairs.
12:54We have a plan, so.
12:55The Nets particularly, I think, will be a challenge with the box and all the gear with it.
12:59Ready for box to the top in gold.
13:03It's Mel Hilliard.
13:04And in white, Jodie Hickey.
13:06Three, two, one!
13:09It's an all-Leinster battle between Dublin and Kildare.
13:12The Hickeys from Dublin.
13:13The Hilliard's from Kildare.
13:15And there's an early lead for Jodie Hickey.
13:18Well, he's gone off very, very quickly.
13:20That's an impressive start of putting pressure on Mel Hilliard already.
13:23Well done, well done, well done.
13:25Great work.
13:25So the box is awkward.
13:28It's not particularly heavy.
13:30So Connor in white for the Hickey family has gone off very quickly on that sprint.
13:34He's not bothering with the sandbags.
13:36Each of them weigh 15 kilograms.
13:38Here come the Hilliard, so they're all together.
13:41And they're off and running.
13:45So Connor for the Hickey family is up to the camo net.
13:50And there's a nice steady pace from Mel and Alana Hilliard carrying that box.
13:57So Connor is still pushing forward.
14:01But here come the Hilliards.
14:04Not too far behind.
14:05Under the watchful eye of Andrew Trimble.
14:11It's really difficult to move the bags and that box underneath the nets.
14:17And they're sort of stuck at the moment, aren't they?
14:19And, well, the Hickey family lost a little bit of time there.
14:24But now they're free of the first cargo net and up to the second one.
14:29So Connor has gone back to help the rest of his family.
14:33So here come the Hilliards.
14:39This is tight.
14:40They're all bunched up together.
14:41And Connor has decided to carry those two bags himself.
14:46He's enjoyed this.
14:47It's not over yet, though.
14:51Still plenty to do in box to the top.
14:55So Connor gets to the top of that platform first.
14:59Dumps the two sandbags.
15:00And he's gone back to help the rest of his family.
15:02The Hilliards, though, they're bunched up.
15:04Will that be an advantage for them?
15:06They have to put those sandbags inside the kit box and close the lid.
15:11And then they can move away from him down the ladder.
15:13This is very tight, isn't it?
15:18A marginal lead for the Hilliard family.
15:21The ladder is tricky to get down.
15:23The Hickey family have closed up on them, haven't they?
15:25And they are neck and neck.
15:26They're right beside each other.
15:29Who's got the strength at the end of a grueling event
15:32to get to the top of that very steep hill?
15:34The wall is not straightforward.
15:36Teamwork absolutely important.
15:37The Hickey family, there's two going up towards the top of that hill.
15:42But the Hilliards are all together.
15:43All four of them.
15:45Who's it going to be?
15:46This is really, really tight between these two families
15:49and it's the Hilliards who get up there.
15:50All four of them there.
15:51They win.
15:52The Hickey family now have a 20-second time penalty
15:55into the next event.
15:59Oh, it's all going so well for you.
16:01Is I?
16:02Yeah.
16:02Hey, Hilliards, we need to take congratulations to you.
16:08Well done.
16:09That was a phenomenal race.
16:10How are you guys feeling going in now?
16:12I think we're feeling pretty good.
16:14Yeah, we got a bit of a spring in our staff.
16:16It's a huge advantage.
16:17Can't lie about that.
16:18I think it's a bit of a confidence booster too.
16:21I think we can all agree that the superstar of that race was,
16:24without a doubt, Connor.
16:26They were phenomenal.
16:28I'm very proud of them.
16:29He did super.
16:30Yeah, he was kind of the most composed of us.
16:32It was panic and run, panic and run for the rest of us,
16:35but he was very calm and composed.
16:38Connor was absolutely brilliant.
16:39He took off like a hair at the beginning
16:40and then Bill came back, got the two bags
16:43and was able to get up the hill.
16:44So, yeah, massively proud of Connor.
16:46He's done great so far.
16:47Donica, we're on a 20-second time penalty
16:50going into the next event,
16:51but I feel like there's a fire in the belly
16:53of the Hickeys here now.
16:54Yeah, absolutely.
16:55I think you've nailed it.
16:56Of course, it's disappointing,
16:57but I think we made an awful lot of mistakes,
16:59so we kind of look at our own performance.
17:00The 20 seconds is going to make us, like,
17:02definitely quite harder for the next event.
17:04We kind of need to just forget about this morning
17:06and think about the next event.
17:08Very best of luck later on.
17:09I'll see you then, all right?
17:10Sure, let's go.
17:11Come on.
17:11Get off!
17:18Get off!
17:19Ah, love it!
17:20Yes, that was great.
17:37Hi, Laura.
17:38Oh, I'm so glad to see you.
17:40Talk to me about this beautiful creation that you've got.
17:43Yeah, I've been at it now for about four hours.
17:45I just wanted to take up something new,
17:46a new hobby.
17:48But it's quite time-consuming,
17:49but it's all worth it when you see.
17:52Look at that!
17:53That's so cool.
17:54I think there's about 30 years in this now,
17:56really and truly.
17:57Absolutely.
17:57Trimble just arrived.
17:59Oh, wow!
18:00Oh!
18:01Hi, Andrew.
18:03I'll just be with you in a minute.
18:05Oh, my God, yes, I totally get it.
18:07Did you just whip this up?
18:09Five minutes.
18:10Five minutes?
18:11Yeah, just threw it together.
18:12I wanted to create the sand manifestation
18:14of Donika's rugby career.
18:16Okay.
18:17Missing tackles.
18:18And my rugby career,
18:20line breaks in general, X Factor.
18:22Oh, wow!
18:23Just, I mean,
18:24in between everything that we've got going on today.
18:27Yeah.
18:30Do you think I heard his feelings?
18:34No.
18:35I mean, he did a great job, too.
18:36Yeah.
18:37Just different.
18:51Welcome back to Ireland's Fiddlest Family.
18:53Now, before the break,
18:54the McKenneth and the Hilliards
18:56both managed to get the box at the top first,
18:58which means, going into this next event,
19:00the Hickey's and the Linehan's
19:01both have a time penalty,
19:03but as we know on this show,
19:04anything can happen.
19:07I always thought the families
19:08who did jigsaws together
19:09were a little bit weird,
19:10but this is actually great crack.
19:12Everyone has to complete a leg of the challenge,
19:14grab a piece of the jigsaw,
19:16and then put it back together,
19:17because right now, it's in bits.
19:19Just like our families are going to be
19:20at the end of this.
19:21This is in bits.
19:25In bits is a brand new event
19:26where strategy is key.
19:28Each person must complete a different task
19:31in this square of the army camp's training trenches
19:33before pulling a piece
19:35of a Fiddlest Family jigsaw puzzle to the centre.
19:37First, we have a crawl under two camo nets.
19:40The next leg involves jumping over four straw bales.
19:45Then, it's a lung-busting run
19:47to collect sandbags from two barrels,
19:49and the final person has to drag a tyre
19:51down the length of the trench.
19:54The clock stops when all four family members
19:56are standing on their piece
19:57of the completed puzzle.
20:00This event will definitely have everyone in bits.
20:03First up for this new time trial
20:05are Dunica and the Hickeys.
20:07They lost their first event,
20:08so they go into this
20:09with a 20-second time penalty.
20:13Duners, Hickeys, here we go.
20:16We're not messing around now, are we?
20:18No, we're not.
20:19We messed around too much this morning.
20:21Now we're going to try to put that all right.
20:22This is a good course
20:23to make the 20 seconds back.
20:25It's four legs, essentially.
20:27Five seconds a person.
20:28I think it's well possible
20:29to pick up five seconds each.
20:30We're feeling good.
20:31Yeah, yeah, yeah.
20:32We're a bit nervous,
20:33but that's not a bad thing, Laura.
20:35You need the nerves.
20:35You do.
20:37Trimble's here three minutes,
20:38and he's giving it all that.
20:40You know what I mean?
20:41I cannot have two families
20:43in the Eliminator.
20:44Me competing against myself
20:45will be a nightmare.
20:47I need to drag him into a fight.
20:49In fact, I'm going for him.
20:51On the start line
20:52for the Hickey family
20:53from Dublin are Ruby,
20:55Jodie,
20:56Connor,
20:57and Cindy.
20:58Connor, same again, boy.
21:00You're brilliant, yeah?
21:01Three,
21:03two,
21:04one.
21:04So, first to go
21:06for the Hickey family,
21:08it's Cindy
21:09running the first leg
21:11and taking on
21:12the responsibility
21:12of that,
21:13and Cindy
21:14has to deal with
21:15two camo nets
21:16which are down
21:18inside that trench.
21:20Go, get out,
21:21get out, get out.
21:22You need a bit more.
21:22Remember,
21:22they are carrying
21:23a 20-second time penalty
21:25from the first event.
21:26Come on,
21:26the exact same way.
21:27Attack it, attack it.
21:28We'll see can they
21:29make that up
21:29over the course
21:30of in bits.
21:33So, Cindy has been
21:34quick enough
21:35through there,
21:36powerful running style.
21:38She's got out
21:39of the trench
21:39and has to grab
21:41the piece
21:41of the jigsaw puzzle
21:43and drag it
21:43back down the course.
21:46Sonica certainly
21:47looks lively, doesn't he?
21:50So, the piece
21:51of the puzzle
21:51has to be placed
21:53in the frame.
21:55And then,
21:56Ruby is tagged in.
21:58Ruby, away, away.
22:00And off Ruby goes
22:01down into the trench
22:03and this is
22:04the sandbag carry.
22:07So, you'll see
22:07she has to get
22:08out of the trench,
22:09grab the sandbag.
22:10Ruby, that's it Ruby,
22:12go on.
22:14Jump back down again.
22:16Go down and get in.
22:17Flings the bag in.
22:19And she's back
22:20moving again.
22:21One more sandbag
22:23to collect.
22:26That's done.
22:27Goes round the barrel.
22:2930 seconds of work.
22:3030 seconds of work.
22:31Get them up.
22:32They're 15 kilograms
22:34each, those sandbags.
22:35Get out, get out, get out.
22:36So, Ruby has placed
22:38those on the barrel
22:39and she's
22:40out of the trench.
22:41And here's the
22:42second piece
22:43of the puzzle.
22:44Push, push, push.
22:46Ruby is back
22:47to the rest
22:47of her family.
22:48Rub to the edge,
22:49rub to the edge.
22:49Now I'll tag him.
22:50Get on him, go.
22:51Here we go.
22:52It's placed in.
22:52And third to go
22:54is Connor.
22:55Well done, Connor.
22:56And Connor
22:57has to jump over
22:58four straw bales
22:59which are in the trench.
23:01That a boy.
23:01Well done.
23:02I think those bales
23:03may well be
23:03taller than Connor.
23:05But he's got
23:06past the first one.
23:08And now the second.
23:09It's a good technique
23:10from him.
23:11So good.
23:12This is quick.
23:13Nicely done.
23:16Well done, Connor.
23:17And he's up to the
23:18fourth one.
23:18Past the fourth one.
23:19Back up all you
23:20brilliant work.
23:21Out of the trench.
23:22And that's the third
23:23piece of the puzzle.
23:24Grab that and go.
23:25You're doing brilliant, boy.
23:26Go on.
23:27Big pull.
23:27Big pull.
23:28Well done.
23:29Pushing hard now
23:30to get back
23:31to the rest of his family.
23:32Just one to go.
23:34The Hickey family
23:34from Dublin
23:35didn't have a particularly
23:37long journey
23:38to get down to
23:39Gormansson
23:39and County Mead.
23:40This is Jody.
23:41And Jody,
23:42when he gets into the trench,
23:43will have to drag this tyre.
23:46It's not particularly heavy.
23:49It's not heavy at all.
23:51It's just awkward.
23:52And it's slowing him down
23:53to him.
23:53But he's really
23:54pushing those legs.
23:56Getting down
23:57towards the end
23:58of the trench.
23:58As you can see,
23:59the rope wrapped
24:00around his chest.
24:01Out he goes.
24:02And this is the final
24:03piece of the puzzle.
24:05The Hickey family
24:05will set the time
24:06for the rest
24:07to try and beat.
24:08But remember,
24:09whatever they finish on,
24:10we're going to add
24:1020 seconds on to him.
24:13Going to the
24:14wrathful eye
24:14of Dunneke.
24:15Jody is back
24:16to the rest
24:16of his family
24:17every second.
24:19Counts
24:19the last piece
24:20of it.
24:21They're all standing
24:21on top of the jigsaw.
24:23The clock stops
24:23at 5.09.
24:24But with the 20-second
24:25time penalty,
24:26it's 5.29.
24:27We'll see how good
24:27that is.
24:31Hey, champ.
24:32Brilliant.
24:32It was definitely
24:33a better performance
24:34than this morning
24:34in that we
24:35didn't get stuck
24:36in any of our
24:37bits and pieces.
24:38We were all
24:39very proud
24:40of what we did.
24:41I think we all
24:41gave it our all.
24:43Jigsaw pieces
24:43are not light.
24:44Not after you've
24:45ran, you've jumped,
24:46you've carried sandbags
24:47to drag a jigsaw piece
24:48along.
24:49Definitely not easy.
24:51Overall, I don't think
24:52we could have given
24:53it any more.
24:54My concern is
24:54that the time
24:55will cost us
24:56and that the error
24:57from the first event
24:58will cost us deeply.
25:00Next up for InBits
25:02are Andrew
25:02and the McKennas.
25:03Can they repeat
25:04their blistering
25:05first round performance?
25:06Time to find out.
25:08The calm before the storm.
25:10Smiles on faces.
25:11Remember, we've got
25:1320 seconds of offer
25:14so we don't need
25:15to go 100 miles an hour.
25:16If we go as hard
25:17as we can here
25:18and do our best
25:19and leave all out
25:19in the field now,
25:20we plan not to have
25:21to be eliminated.
25:22I think Andrew
25:23deserves to be
25:24a wee bit small
25:24because obviously
25:26both his teams
25:27did well this morning.
25:29Seeing Danica
25:30soul-searching
25:31on his phone
25:32to his mum
25:32or his wife,
25:34do you still love me?
25:35That would be perfect.
25:36That would be
25:36a real success
25:37for me today.
25:39Lining up
25:39for the McKennas
25:40we have Cormac,
25:42Caelan,
25:43Colleen
25:44and Sharon.
25:46Three,
25:47two,
25:49one.
25:50Seconds to go
25:52in bits
25:53are the McKennas
25:54from Monaghan
25:54for Andrew Trimble.
25:56And first up
25:56it's mum Sharon,
25:58a High Rock specialist.
25:59She was very impressive
26:00in the first event
26:01this morning.
26:02She's got the camo nets
26:03to start.
26:03Stick that one arm
26:04right ahead
26:05just trying to clear
26:05that space.
26:06Nice,
26:06well done.
26:07Watch your head.
26:08Nice and calm
26:09instruction
26:10from Andrew.
26:11Sharon,
26:11great stuff.
26:13Sharon was
26:14in blistering form
26:16this morning
26:17in event one.
26:20And it's a good
26:21solid start
26:22for the McKenna family.
26:245.29
26:25is the time
26:26they have to beat
26:27and they're just
26:28through a minute
26:29on the first leg
26:30of this
26:31in bits
26:32relay challenge.
26:34So the first piece
26:35of the puzzle
26:36is back.
26:38And Sharon
26:39tags her daughter
26:40Colleen
26:40and her task
26:43will be to carry
26:44these sandbags.
26:46Collect them
26:46off the barrels,
26:47carry them
26:48from one end
26:48of the trench
26:49to the other.
26:51Big into boxing
26:52and the GA.
26:53Very strong competitor.
26:54And there's
26:56sandbag number one
26:56for Colleen McKenna.
27:03She can see
27:04where the second
27:04sandbag is.
27:06There it is.
27:07And it's been
27:08collected
27:08around the barrel
27:09and then it's a sprint
27:11with both of them
27:11down to the bottom
27:12of the trench.
27:14This feels quick.
27:16There's the second
27:17piece of the jigsaw.
27:21Colleen McKenna
27:22drives the legs.
27:24Back down
27:25to the rest
27:26of her family.
27:26Two and a half
27:27minutes done.
27:285.29 is what
27:29they've got to try
27:30and better.
27:31Put it around
27:32the right way.
27:33That's done.
27:34Third in
27:35is 19-year-old
27:36Cormac
27:36and he is
27:37sprinting
27:38to that trench.
27:40He's got to
27:40jump over
27:41these bails.
27:43And look at that.
27:45That was a brilliant
27:46bit of skill
27:48and technique
27:48from Cormac McKenna.
27:50And if anything,
27:50he's getting faster.
27:52Jumping over
27:52those as if
27:53they're not there.
27:53That was brilliant
27:56from Cormac McKenna.
27:57Piece number three.
27:59And there's no
28:00let up in the pace
28:00at all.
28:02This is quick
28:03and he is going
28:03hard.
28:04So Cormac McKenna
28:07will finish this
28:08out.
28:08Three and a half
28:09minutes.
28:10There's a little bit
28:11of a mistake there
28:11that's costed
28:12a second or two
28:13but not fatal.
28:15The tyre pull.
28:16And Cormac
28:16is quick as well.
28:17He's 21.
28:20And they have
28:20smashed this
28:21from the first leg
28:23with Sharon McKenna.
28:24This felt fast.
28:25We got an exact
28:27time very shortly.
28:30Cormac out
28:30of the trench.
28:32The final piece
28:34of the puzzle
28:34has been dragged
28:36along the ground.
28:37And this,
28:38I've laid down
28:39a marker.
28:39This is a really
28:40quick time.
28:41Very impressive.
28:42There's no time
28:43penalty to carry
28:44into this.
28:44So it's four minutes
28:45and 22 seconds.
28:46Our new leaders,
28:47the McKenna.
28:48It looked quick.
28:54It looked like
28:54that's going to be
28:55a time that's,
28:56I don't think
28:57anybody's going
28:57to beat that.
28:58McKenna,
28:59I would say
29:00you feel quite good
29:01about that.
29:02But on a scale
29:02of one to ten,
29:03how tough was it?
29:05It wasn't really
29:05that tough.
29:07The children
29:08were very,
29:08very strong.
29:10Andrew,
29:10I'd say you have
29:11to be so proud of that.
29:12It was unreal.
29:13And then someone,
29:14as we finished,
29:14someone said,
29:15I'd say that was
29:16faster than the army,
29:16was it?
29:18The McKenna family,
29:19faster than the army.
29:22Next up for Imbiss
29:23are Dunica
29:23and the Linehan.
29:25They lost their
29:25first event,
29:26so they go into this
29:27with a 20-second
29:28time penalty.
29:29Linehan family,
29:30isn't it mad to think
29:31you could have been
29:31out for a lovely
29:32round of golf today,
29:33but instead you're
29:33in the hardest course
29:34in the army camp.
29:35Look,
29:36our aim is to win
29:37this event right
29:38and get home
29:38early to Carp tonight.
29:39Oh, Barry,
29:40love to hear you.
29:41So we're very,
29:43very confident
29:43going into it.
29:44Typical Ireland's
29:45fittest family,
29:46we take something
29:46so wholesome
29:47like a jigsaw
29:48and we make it
29:49absolutely torturous.
29:51It's going to be tough.
29:53Ready to go
29:54for the Linehan family
29:55are Sean,
29:56Diarmuid,
29:57Ava
29:57and Rory.
29:59Three,
30:00two,
30:02one.
30:03Paula Dunneva
30:04gets them underway
30:05and first to go
30:06is 18-year-old
30:07Ava.
30:07Great job.
30:09Fast start from
30:10what remembered
30:10the Linehans
30:11are carrying
30:11a 20-second time
30:13penalty
30:13into
30:14in bits.
30:15They are third
30:15of our four families
30:16to go.
30:18First of the cargo
30:18next to two there.
30:19Perfect.
30:21Impressively.
30:22Great encouragement
30:23from the rest
30:23of her family.
30:25Same again now.
30:26Keep low,
30:26high back,
30:27high back.
30:28Brilliant.
30:29Outstanding.
30:29Well done,
30:30well done.
30:30Offering great
30:31encouragement
30:32to Ava Linehan.
30:33So she's out
30:34of that trench.
30:37Puzzle piece
30:38number one.
30:40Dragged back
30:41down the course.
30:45Ava
30:45pumping the legs.
30:47A little bit of a stumble
30:48and she's fallen.
30:49She's fallen,
30:50Ava Linehan,
30:50but she's okay.
30:52Now the rest of her family
30:53helped her out there.
30:55Here goes Sean.
30:57Quick start from Sean.
30:59Very fast.
31:02So he's got the sandbags
31:03which are on
31:06the two barrels
31:07ahead of him.
31:07They're sandbag number one.
31:09A little bit of a slip.
31:10The conditions underfoot
31:12are perfect.
31:13It's a lovely dry day,
31:14but
31:15commonly challenging
31:17at times.
31:17That's the second bag.
31:18He goes round the barrel,
31:20collects
31:20the other bag.
31:22Bit of a stumble again
31:23from Sean Linehan
31:24from Not Fatal.
31:26Bags delivered
31:26to the top of the barrel.
31:27Two minutes.
31:28They've got a beat
31:29for the quickest time
31:30the McKenna's
31:314.22.
31:32The Hitties
31:32are back on 5.29.
31:34Whatever the Linehan's
31:35get here,
31:36we're going to stick
31:36another 20 seconds
31:37onto it
31:37after the first event.
31:39Third to go now
31:46is 16-year-old
31:47Rory Linehan.
31:49Bit of a stumble
31:50from him.
31:50He's got to jump over
31:53at the straw bale.
31:55Looked like fun.
31:56That's good technique.
31:58Spinning through them
31:59and again
32:00repeating the dose.
32:01Great work, Rory.
32:02So Rory is fast here.
32:04He's made up some time.
32:05Grab and go.
32:06Grab and go.
32:06Grab and go.
32:07He's got to drag
32:07the puzzle piece
32:09behind him.
32:09He got so
32:11invested in what he was doing
32:12he forgot about
32:13maybe the most important part.
32:15So this is a good time.
32:17Third one back.
32:18Heading for three and a half minutes
32:19and last to go
32:21is Dad Dierman.
32:22He's a high rock fan.
32:23He's a big golfer
32:24and he's got to drag this tyre
32:26down that trench.
32:29It's certainly
32:29not as heavy as the golf bag
32:31he'd be used to carrying
32:32around the course.
32:35Good solid pace.
32:36The rope wrapped
32:37over his left shoulder.
32:40He's got rid of the tyre.
32:42He's going quick as well.
32:43Another stumble.
32:43The Lillithans have had
32:44trouble just keeping their feet
32:46and now the final piece
32:48back.
32:49They're not going to be
32:50the quickest.
32:51As long as there's no mistakes
32:52here they will be
32:53the second fastest
32:54out of the three.
32:55They just have to fit
32:56the final piece
32:57of the jigsaw in there.
32:58That cost them
32:58a couple of seconds
32:59and all has to be
33:00pressed into position.
33:014.42 with the
33:0222nd time penalty
33:03it's 5.02.
33:04They are not safe yet.
33:06Outstanding.
33:07Hey, hey.
33:09Outstanding.
33:10Every one of you.
33:11Brilliant, brilliant,
33:12brilliant.
33:13Honestly, so good.
33:14Everyone did their leg
33:15really well and
33:16yeah, I'm just
33:17delighted with everyone.
33:19Ava, my father, Aurora
33:21they all put in
33:22a serious shift
33:22so I couldn't have
33:24asked for more from them.
33:24We said it right to run
33:25we've done the best we can.
33:26It was a very poor
33:27performance this morning
33:28there was a lot of
33:29constructive criticism
33:30from our coach
33:31Stetica
33:31so I think we've
33:33bounced back.
33:34Whatever about doing
33:35really well
33:35it's built confidence
33:36again so the Lillithans
33:38are back
33:38we're confident
33:39and it's great.
33:40Last up for NBITS
33:42are Andrew's
33:43Hilliard family
33:44with no time penalty
33:45hanging over their heads
33:46they're in a strong position.
33:48For the Hilliards
33:49this event should suit them
33:51there's a lot of running.
33:53Well, talking about
33:54the 20 seconds
33:55that is a huge
33:56advantage as far
33:57as I'm concerned.
33:58The only thing
33:59that can trip us up here
34:00is mistakes
34:00as long as we keep
34:01a lid on it
34:02I think we're in good shape.
34:03I think so.
34:03Let's go wild folks.
34:04Yay!
34:06Ready to go for the Hilliards
34:07it's Dad Mel
34:08daughters Ellen

34:21and on the first leg
34:21it's Alana
34:22She is a primary school teacher
34:26she's got the camo net crawl
34:27For the Hilliard family
34:31to avoid the eliminator
34:32they need to beat
34:33the Lillithans time
34:34of five minutes
34:35and two seconds
34:36so that's
34:37the target
34:39that they have
34:39Nice to land it
34:40there you go
34:41So good solid start
34:43from Alana
34:43under the first
34:45camo net

34:50and she's
34:51out of the trench
34:53There's jigsaw piece
34:55number one
34:55So a little bit
35:01of a stumble
35:01there from
35:02Alana
35:02You may think
35:03it's easy
35:04to pull
35:04something like that
35:05along behind you
35:06sometimes
35:06it can
35:07trip you up
35:07literally
35:08Second in
35:08it's Juliet
35:09She's got the sandbags
35:12running is one of her
35:13big passions
35:14and she's
35:15pumping those arms
35:16and legs
35:16she's down to the trench

35:33number two
35:34so Julia has got
35:39so Julia has got
35:39two bags
35:40and just has to
35:41deliver them down
35:42to the barrel
35:43at the bottom
35:43of the trench
35:44and they'll be
35:46very nearly
35:47halfway there
35:48empty the tank
35:49home
35:49Julia let's go
35:50empty the tank
35:51is the message
35:51from Andrew Trimble
35:52over two and a half
35:55minutes done
35:55remember it's 5.02
35:56that's where
35:57they've got to be
35:58and they've got to be
35:59inside if they want
36:00to avoid the eliminator
36:01second piece placed
36:03in the frame
36:04and third to go
36:05is Ellen
36:06she's got the
36:08straw bale jump
36:10she is a scientist
36:12an environmental scientist
36:13that's a good solid start
36:16from Ellen Hilliard
36:17great start
36:17that's perfect
36:18very good to you
36:19that's really good
36:20so
36:20barrel number two
36:22of the four
36:23she has to get over
36:24grab it at the end
36:26of the rope
36:27good steady pace
36:28empty the tank
36:29all the way home
36:29Ellen let's go
36:30great start
36:31well done
36:31there's the third piece
36:32and Ellen
36:33with the last bit
36:35of max effort
36:36through four minutes
36:375.02 is what
36:39they've got to try
36:40and beat
36:40to avoid the eliminator
36:41this is going to be
36:42tight
36:42the third piece
36:43of the jigsaw
36:44placed inside the frame
36:46and last to go
36:48is Dad Mel
36:49many years ago
36:51he was on a
36:52sports scholarship
36:53in the United States
36:54great fitness
36:58and Mel
36:58you can see that
36:59as he pulls that
36:59tire down the trench
37:00they're not going to do it
37:03they're just going to miss out
37:05Mel has the final piece
37:07of the jigsaw
37:07so the Hilliard family
37:10because they couldn't beat
37:11the Linehan's time
37:11of 5.02
37:12they've been very close
37:13haven't they
37:14they really have been
37:15very close
37:15they've no time penalty
37:16to carry into this
37:17clock stops at 5.14
37:19they are in the eliminator
37:20the Hilliards
37:21so with all four races
37:28complete
37:29the McKenna's
37:30and the Linehan's
37:31have got the fastest times
37:32with the Hilliard's
37:33and the Hickies
37:33at the bottom half
37:34of the scoreboard
37:35despite their time penalty
37:37the Linehan's
37:38remain in second place
37:39and along with the McKenna's
37:41grab a place
37:41in the quarter finals
37:43leaving the Hilliard's
37:44and the Hickies
37:45in the eliminator
37:46get up
37:52get up
37:53ah lucky
37:55welcome back to
38:08Ireland's fittest family
38:10now before the break
38:11we saw Andrews McKenna's
38:12and Donika's Linehan's
38:14both guarantee themselves
38:15a spot in our
38:16quarter final
38:17but there's still
38:18one spot up for grabs
38:20and it's a Trimble
38:22versus O'Callaghan
38:22eliminator
38:23for the Hilliard
38:24and Hickies family
38:25it's time now
38:28for the eliminator
38:28where Andrews Hilliards
38:29are going to take on
38:30Donika's Hickies
38:31but will Andrew
38:32continue that winning streak
38:34for our newbie coaches
38:35by bringing two families
38:36through to the
38:37quarter final
38:38let's find out
38:39tonight's eliminator
38:43will be relentless
38:44first our families
38:46must flip a heavy
38:47truck tyre
38:48for 50 metres
38:49down the runway
38:49until it's completely
38:51past the fittest
38:52family barrels
38:52next it's a climb
38:54over a 2.6 metres
38:55high container
38:56and up and over
38:57three round straw
38:59bales
38:59after that
39:01they have to carry
39:02a 50 kilogram
39:03army training log
39:04to a pallet
39:05with eight sandbags
39:06they have to carry
39:07those to another pallet
39:08before tackling
39:09our 8 foot
39:10or 2.4 metres
39:11high wall
39:12once over that
39:13it's a run up
39:14our famous ramp
39:15the first family
39:16with four people
39:17standing at the top
39:18wins the race
39:18and a place
39:19in the quarter finals
39:20the entire day
39:28it does feel like
39:29it's been a marathon
39:29of the day
39:30it's going to come down
39:31to a couple of moments
39:32that ramp at the end
39:33that's going to be
39:34the big one
39:35you know
39:38I did always want
39:40to have a go
39:40at the ramp
39:41so
39:41I'm going to get
39:43that chance now
39:43there's parts of
39:45the course
39:46that will make it
39:47harder with the wet weather
39:48particularly the ramp
39:49at the end
39:49hoping someone's
39:50going to get out
39:51with a towel
39:51before we go up
39:52no I'm absolutely
39:53looking to finish
39:55Trimby
39:55and get rid of
39:56one of his families
39:57it'd be great
39:57take the smugness
39:58off him
39:59it kind of feels
40:00like there's a change
40:01in tone
40:02in the last
40:03kind of 10 minutes
40:04there's a seriousness
40:05that's descended
40:06on the whole group
40:07we're going to have
40:08to see if it's going
40:09to be beginner's luck
40:10or a lot of experience
40:11thank you Lord
40:12thank you
40:13are we still friends
40:14no I'll chat in
40:15about six minutes
40:16the Eliminator
40:19is about to begin
40:20for the Hilliard family
40:22in gold
40:22it's Ellen
40:23Julia
40:24Alana
40:25and Mel
40:26and for the Hickeys
40:28in white
40:28it's Jodie
40:29Connor
40:30Ruby
40:31and Cindy
40:32three
40:34two
40:36one
40:37that place
40:39in the quarterfinal
40:40is on the line
40:41here for the
40:42Hilliards
40:43in gold
40:43closest to us
40:44and the Hickey family
40:46wearing white
40:46on the left
40:47of your screen
40:47so this
40:49tyre will
40:50the Hilliards
40:51appear to be
40:52taking turns
40:53with this
40:54so just going
40:55two at a time
40:56where it's more
40:56of a combined
40:57effort from
40:58the Hickey family
40:59as you can see
40:59weather has taken
41:03a little bit
41:04of a turn
41:04and it's a lead
41:07of the minute
41:07for the Hilliards
41:08so their strategy
41:09is working
41:09a little better
41:11under the watchful eye
41:12of Andrew Trimble
41:13Michael Malhan
41:14is with
41:15the Hickeys
41:16and it's not easy
41:19to keep that tyre
41:20going straight
41:21but the Hilliards
41:21have managed
41:22to do that
41:22and they are first
41:24through
41:24they have to go
41:24round the barrel
41:25and here
41:26they are
41:27at the container
41:27which is 2.6 metres high
41:29it's all about
41:31teamwork
41:32clear strategy
41:35they have an order
41:36you can hear
41:37they're going to
41:38win the Hickey family
41:39so Julia Hilliard
41:40is first up
41:41for her family
41:41on top of the container
41:42and there's Connor
41:43for the Hickey family
41:44he's at some day
41:46just 14 years of age
41:47and it's not over yet
41:49so
41:49and that is Jodie
41:54about to get up there
41:55to make it 3
41:56for the Hickey family
41:56Mel Hilliard
41:58is finding that difficult
41:59it's not meant to be easy
42:01and it certainly
42:02is not easy
42:02and Andrew just has
42:03to reposition that mask
42:04for Mel
42:06he's got the hold
42:09of the lip
42:09at the top of the container
42:10and his 3 daughters
42:11are dragging him up there
42:12so all 4
42:14Hilliards
42:15are on top of the container
42:16it's a bit more
42:18of a battle
42:18for the Hickey family
42:19but they're
42:19sorted now
42:21and then you've got to
42:22get back down
42:23the other side
42:232.6 metres
42:25couple of stumbles there
42:26it's a long way down
42:28but they are
42:30bunched up
42:31falling all over the place
42:33here we go
42:34with the straw bales
42:35this eliminator
42:37has everything in it
42:38it's a serious test
42:39of fitness
42:40of strategy
42:41of resilience
42:43mental toughness
42:44the works
42:44and they've lost
42:48a little bit of time
42:48there the Hickey family
42:49Conor is the anchor man
42:51isn't he
42:51there's Mel Hilliard
42:54well done
42:55well done
42:56still a long way to go
42:59and the prize
43:00is big
43:02a place in the quarterfinals
43:03this log
43:04the army training log
43:05weighs 50 kilograms
43:07and off they go
43:10a lead for the Hilliards
43:11on the left
43:11in gold
43:11but it's certainly
43:14not much of a lead
43:15you'll be writing home
43:16about this
43:16so they get rid
43:18of the training log
43:20and now
43:20they've got to move
43:21these sandbags
43:22from one pallet
43:23to the other
43:23they've taken them all
43:25both families
43:25they are neck and neck
43:29so these sandbags
43:32delivered
43:32and this wall
43:35is 8 feet high
43:372.4 meters high
43:39really the same gig
43:42it's a little smaller
43:42than the container
43:44at this stage there
43:47legs, arms
43:48everything burning
43:49nothing is straight forward
43:51so Conor is the first over
43:52for the Hickey family
43:53here come the Hilliards
43:55so they've got two
43:59up at the top
44:00and they can help
44:01the others
44:01can they
44:01or will they be able to
44:04so the rain has been
44:06coming down steadily
44:07all the way through
44:08this eliminator
44:09and it's just making things
44:10much more difficult
44:12everything is
44:13quite slippy
44:14but the Hilliards now
44:15the four of them
44:16are over
44:17at that final wall
44:18and now they get a look
44:19at the ramp
44:19and the Hickey family
44:21are there as well
44:22so it's come down
44:23to this
44:23Mel Hilliard on the left
44:25and Jodie Hickey on the right
44:26and Mel has got a hold
44:28on the top lip of that
44:29Jodie's come straight back down
44:30so Mel trying to drag himself up there
44:33Andrew Trimble has been
44:34very cool and calm
44:35and collected
44:35it's a simple
44:36straightforward message for him
44:38so the Hilliards have got one up
44:39the Hickey's
44:40no one at the moment
44:41and you can see just how
44:42slippy that ramp is
44:43so Jodie Hickey is having
44:46another go
44:47and he's failed too
44:48and one of the Hilliards
44:49has come back down as well
44:50so the tension builds
44:52and grows
44:53the rain continues to fall
44:55and only Mel Hilliard
44:57has managed to get up
44:58to the top of that ramp
44:59you can see the stress
45:02in Dunica's face
45:03you can hear it in his voice
45:04another attempt
45:06another fail
45:06on both sides
45:07this is amazing
45:10you've never seen
45:11anything like this before
45:13but it's just like
45:15a nice ring
45:15so Andrew Trimble
45:21deciding to use the coat
45:22using anything he can
45:23to try and dry that ramp
45:24Connor for the Hickey family
45:25another attempt
45:27another fail
45:27Jodie Hickey
45:31has got a hold of the lip
45:33on the top of the ramp
45:34oh
45:34what are you doing again
45:35with every second
45:37the Bell's leap to the top
45:39for the Hilliard family
45:40looks even more impressive
45:41but the rain is still falling
45:44the ramp
45:44is so slippy
45:47and Jodie was so close
45:48another go
45:51so that
45:51is back to Ellen
45:52yes it is
45:53Ellen's up there
45:54two for the Hilliards
45:55brilliant stuff
45:56absolutely amazing
45:57how did she manage to do that
45:59the Hickey still haven't got anyone up there
46:01and we carry on
46:04again
46:04and again
46:05and again
46:11and referee Paula Donovan
46:12has decided to call this
46:14what's going to happen here
46:16the health and safety of the families
46:20is always a paramount concern
46:21so it just became unsafe
46:23for them to try
46:24and try any more attempts
46:25to get up the ramp
46:26the ramp is no longer
46:27fit for purpose
46:27so we've decided
46:28that we're going to base
46:30the result of the eliminator
46:31on the fastest time
46:32in the time trial
46:34that means
46:35that the family going through
46:36to the quarter final
46:37is going to be the Hilliards
46:37who's at the fastest time
46:39it was just getting
46:46slippery and slippery
46:46it was more so
46:47you're actually afraid
46:48then
46:48is one of us
46:49actually going to hurt ourselves
46:50so definitely
46:50it was the right call
46:51I think
46:51that wasn't a ramp
46:52it was a water slide
46:54we are disappointed
46:54disappointed that we
46:55didn't even get
46:56one of the guys up
46:57but like
46:57it was
46:59that's what we thought
47:00for the Hickeys
47:01you should be so proud
47:02of yourselves
47:02it's honestly incredible
47:03your endeavour all day
47:05and especially Connor
47:06I'd say Connor
47:07it was just
47:07for me
47:08the standard
47:09it was amazing
47:10we're all the proud of you
47:12so fantastic
47:14to have you Hickeys
47:15and we're so sad
47:16to lose you
47:16thank you very much
47:17the standard of coaches
47:19and families
47:20this year in Ireland
47:21for this family
47:22you can't afford a mistake
47:23and I'm having too many
47:25at the moment
47:25I need to up my game
47:27hats off
47:28to the Hickey family
47:29they're incredible
47:30and we battled with them
47:31in the first seed
47:31and we end up
47:32battling against them
47:33in the eliminator
47:34but to come out on top
47:35it's just
47:36I'm so proud of
47:38of our family
47:39the girls
47:39it's just amazing
47:40Andrew I did say to you
47:42that it comes down to the ramps
47:43all the time
47:44were you expecting that though?
47:45no
47:45the start was kind of funny
47:47and then it got
47:48not that funny
47:49not that funny
47:50and then I looked up
47:51at one stage
47:51and Mel was up at the top
47:52and he just looked like
47:53a lonely dad
47:54that wanted to spend time
47:56with his daughters
47:56and we were trying to
47:58reunite this family
47:59this is what it felt like

48:33I like to be cool
48:37calm and collected
48:38whereas Davy
48:39doesn't do that
48:40he just likes to throw
48:41his toys out of the room
48:42where one of them
48:44will lose a family
48:45take your time
48:46be composed
48:47you'll get there
48:48that doesn't sound like
48:49sabotage at all
48:50well a different level
48:53of stamina is needed next
48:54as more house hunters
48:55trek around
48:55some cheap European homes
