Irina Dolinina has become the first woman in the world to command an Ansat helicopter, operating in the Magadan region of Russia’s Far North.
The Russian pilot was recognized as the world’s first female commander of the Ansat — a light multipurpose helicopter manufactured by the Kazan Helicopter Plant, part of the Russian Helicopters holding company under the State Corporation Rostec.
Dolinina currently serves with Aviation of Kolyma, an operator that conducts flights in one of the country’s most challenging regions, known for its harsh weather conditions and difficult terrain.

00:00For every pilot, I think the aircraft is something like a flying plane, something like a flying plane, something like a flying plane, something like a flying plane.
00:22So, it's like your friend, friend, who will not lead you, and who will always help you in flight.
00:35I think that you need to take care of the car.
00:51It's my personal ritual. I always like the aircraft, like the plane, regardless of the type, regardless of the region.
01:00It's my personal ritual. I all think it's different. I really like the cars.
01:08They're all different, like people. And when you're referring to the aircraft, it feels like it feels like it.
01:21I'm a great person. I'm really like the car.
01:27And that's how I feel.
01:28And that's how I feel.
01:30I'm a great person. I'm a great person. I feel like I'm a great person.
