00:00for nearly a decade the garden rescue team have made dreams come true for
00:08hundreds of garden owners across the UK open your eyes oh wow it's absolutely
00:23stunning thank you so much thank you very much no matter the challenge it's
00:28just coming down a little harder the rain if this weather keeps on as it is we're not
00:32going to have anything to see and no matter the garden I tell you what so it's a little
00:38bit smaller than I thought we've got the job done that's brilliant but the one
00:43question I always get asked is what happens to the gardens after we leave well
00:50now Wow away it's my turn to be amazed that's grown into a bar I'm going back
01:00been a long time to my favorite garden rescues five years including some of our
01:12very first to find out what happened we should have called it the Dimmick after
01:21we packed up our spades I'm very excited to see the garden it has gone huge we've
01:28picked the perfect day to show you around the Sun is shining the gardens looking
01:32beautiful fabulous this time I discover if our transformation of a garden in Gosport makes the
01:47owners sing three years on find out if there's still magic in a Northampton garden
01:56ah it survived every year gets refreshed Phoebe does it yeah Phoebe chooses the plants and designs it
02:02and get back to a jungle in Nottingham Rex loves to stand under here as well and hide away which is
02:10really funny isn't it yeah it was taking a plane back garden into a really nice-looking
02:15jungle feel we've rescued our fair share look at the state of this neglected gardens
02:23it's so unattractive it's probably the worst thing in the garden you're liable to twist your ankle it's
02:30not that relaxing one very shabby space was in Gosport three years ago hi I'm Nicola I'm David this is
02:42the garden such as it is it's lawn with lots and lots of weeds Nicola and David I remember that one
02:50they wanted wildlife but they wanted theater darling and yeah they got it
02:56Chris and I were challenged to Nicola and David's neglected garden I absolutely hate the amount of
03:04concrete that we've got in here they've got a path that goes that way you've got this square over here
03:09it's just naff there's a lot of work to be done the only thing it was been really good for is well being
03:18carved up when we have parties and things really they look like a very colorful couple and they're
03:23into all things theatre and drama we've been in lots of Gilbert and Sullivan's so we love the
03:29theatre and we'd like our garden to reflect that something where we can go okay you'll see the
03:37drama coming through already we want somewhere we can relax somewhere we can put productions on and do
03:42crazy stuff we also would love to see more natural elements in the garden as well and we're very
03:47passionate about the bees the butterflies and the birds maybe a wildlife pond in there I know Charlie's
03:52pretty good at those as well so no straight lines no no straight lines oh my days please take the
03:58straight lines we want nice soft curves curves I do curves well but ultimately somewhere that we can
04:02just get out here and sing yeah we had a six thousand pound budget to play with here we go
04:09Nicola David hello Charlie you wanted a garden with wow show-stopping drama theatrical darling
04:17the whole works this is your garden flora fauna and performers it gives you soft curves it gives you
04:26dramatic stages we've got areas for wildlife quite a modern design isn't it with both designs having
04:34contemporary curves we've got this modern patio here lovely that's curved and edged water features
04:43it's gonna be wildflower with a wildlife pond in the middle it's quite magical isn't it yeah
04:47performance patios to put on productions when you want to perform for your friends or with each
04:53other this is where you're gonna do it it would all come down to the details I know this looks
04:58like a grand piano but it's not it's a high bar table love that brilliant to mirror the stage for
05:05you to perform I've designed a stage for wildlife a stage area for birds and there's only one winner
05:13and we have decided to go with Charlie's I was so chuffed when I won this garden I mean I
05:23love a bit of theatre and drama in the garden but I also love a wildlife garden right up my street so I was
05:31really pleased although there's a lot of concrete in the garden so that was a bit of a worry the
05:38landscapers soon pulled the battered path up and began to mark out my curved boardwalk and patio
05:47Paul and Colin planted posts for climbers with cobbles added for texture and interest Paul and I
05:59are laying these cobbles here it's one of those jobs that people love or hate I really quite like
06:04it really nice sense of satisfaction with the new patio laid at the entrance to the house it was down
06:11to gruff to prepare the new pond and ground the new turf right job done I tasked the team with creating a
06:25performance patio in the center of the garden and it wasn't long before the stage was almost set for
06:33mine and Chris's arrival but you're in your element I love it it I love it so we're going to have some
06:40screens that go across here that are going to act as wings and then you'll come around to this bit of
06:45the garden pond and then I'm thinking the piano but here yeah I don't quite know that one so again
06:53don't you know that tune while Kyle continued framing the performance patio with stone
07:00I took over pond duties just tidying the pond up I'm making sure because it's a wildlife pond that
07:10the edges are nice and dish shape at the bottom of the garden Chris was building the piano shape table
07:17that I designed as a focal point and seating area now I've just started to cut for the grand piano so
07:26you can see the curves here they're gonna be sweeping around so this is perfect for cutting those out with
07:32the piano taking shape and the pond filled I could surround it with meadow turf once the piano was in
07:47place okay happy Charlie very happy loving it all it needed was a flamboyant candelabra I had just the
07:58feature tree in mind to create even more drama in the borders I love this tree Indian bean tree
08:04catelpa bignoides great tree for drama medium-sized so it's not huge get some fabulous flowers on it
08:14like white bell-shaped flowers and then afterwards you get these beans that grow that are about a foot
08:21long and they hang on the tree even into the winter time so you'll see them hanging in clusters
08:27on the tree so really good fun it was almost time for the final curtain
08:33Ruff I'm getting very excited about this this is the curtains
08:37great show so great show fantastic with the garden dressed the drama influence space was finally
08:56ready to show Nicola and David Nicola David you wanted a garden that was going to be show stopping
09:03full of colour and drama I'm hoping we've given you that but what had been nothing but weeds and
09:12dilapidated path with now a plant-filled space complete with new patios pathways a pond and even piano
09:25do you want to open your eyes so come this way to your stage but the wings and the wings but come on through
09:43through so the fun thing about this is these slide so you can have them as a backdrop almost like
09:51curtains yes so do you think you'd do a performance here absolutely go on
09:58my design and the team's hard work brought Nicola and David out in song three years ago so can you
10:10see yourself using the garden gosh yes I don't think I ever want to get back in the house I'm gonna be out
10:16here all the time it's great would they be feeling just as thrilled with the space today
10:22hello I'm so excited to see the garden how's it been for you oh Charlie you wouldn't believe it I
10:34I still can't believe that you've done this in just over three years David and Nicola's garden has
10:41flourished the borders are full of color and the Indian bean tree is a star in its own right it has
10:53gone huge it's massive it's fantastic though amazing because you wanted those big leaves and the drama
11:02so yeah and of course you can pollard it as well if it's got a bit too big for the space which you do
11:09in in the autumn once it's dropped all its leaves right and then the next year when it regrows the
11:15leaves will be even bigger so even more drama I can still see you've got the screens there of course
11:25our curtains which we love playing with come on then I'm very excited to see the garden let us show
11:32you down this way so we're currently going over the stage now beyond the curtain the borders that were
11:38young and now full of mature planting like the cardoons their drama they are beautiful and the bees love
11:52them so much and the pond that had just been filled is thriving with lilies and surrounding flora and even
12:01a new addition hold on what's that bridge we found that the wild garden was kind of over spilling the
12:08little stepping stones a little bit so we thought with the bridge there it just kind of gives a bit
12:12of extra structure and do you get lots of wildlife I think about six different types of butterfly in the
12:18garden so many bees it's been a real treat oh wonderful you know I'd say to anyone a pond in the
12:25garden is such a time waster because you just go and watch the world go by in there do you find
12:31yourself just staring at it all the time in fact I take trips up the garden specifically to watch the
12:36pond it's it's wonderful I'm glad it's going well and did the um piano bar survive it's still here
12:45yes absolutely let me show you the piano bar the grand piano table that Chris worked so hard on is
12:54now enveloped by ferns and wildflowers that create a very special space
12:59it's just an absolute sea of color fabulous really lovely that's fantastic all that wildlife the only
13:08thing that hasn't really taken is the the actual grass the lawn part of this it's it's never really
13:14taken off so it's always been a bit sort of patchy yes so that will be because of the shade so what I
13:21would suggest rather than just having grass there I would start planting in a few ferns and shade loving
13:28plants you could put ivy under there if you wanted okay thank you very much thank you we do have one
13:35little treat to show you um if we may I'll take you to the front of the shed here front of the shed
13:41right after we had the garden rescue team in we had this little blue plaque commissioned um to
13:47recognize all the hard work that you guys did look at that sign oh wow we've made it at last
13:56for services rendered to nicola and david's garden
13:59go on give us a little song because you did deafen our sound recordist last time
14:07that's what we do yeah um now to the banquet we press now for the eggs and the ham now for the muffin and toast and now for the gay saliland
14:19fantastic that is amazing the garden is fantastic you guys david nicola amazing keep it up and i'm glad you're enjoying it absolutely and thank you so much again charlie thank you for all your hard work as always bye bye bye
14:29bye we couldn't be more grateful and um if we were to do whatever again we would absolutely cheerfully
14:47oh just makes you feel warm inside when you see that they love the garden and it's great for the wildlife
14:56and it's still got a bit of drama goodbye
15:01my next garden rescue was about creating an inclusive family garden
15:12and back in northampton where six years ago we put in an accessible garden
15:18for andy louise and their two wheelchair using children jamie and phoebe
15:24so the garden originally was an empty space of not very much
15:30i'm looking forward to having charlie come around the garden actually because i think
15:34we have worked really hard on it to try and keep it and to tweak it and to change it
15:39i hope she likes it six years ago louise and andy contacted us asking for help with their new rather
15:47large garden we moved to northampton just under three years ago um we moved up from london we have
15:54two children jamie who is nine and phoebe is five how are you this is their garden it's huge wow i know
16:02predominantly lawn lawn i love the garden it's absolutely fantastic and the view is incredible
16:08but the patio is tiny it's absolutely useless they want things or activities for their children
16:15because they both are very active jamie likes archery oh nice like basketball and then phoebe
16:22likes uh animals and wildlife okay and unicorns fantastic have you got a contact for unicorns have
16:29you i've got a few numbers hey jamie and phoebe had not let their love of sport nor magic be affected
16:35by mobility issues jamie uses a wheelchair all the time if he chooses to get out of the wheelchair
16:41then he crawls phoebe uses a k walker which is a walking frame or she whizzes around on a on a
16:47skateboard around the house getting around the house was easy but they found the garden very difficult
16:52to use it's uneven you know they they can't they can't get from one side to the other without a lot of
16:59additional effort what you're doing when david harry and i arrived in northampton oh rubbish it was
17:08plain to see why the family's big patch of grass wasn't fit for the family's purpose the garden looks
17:14huge i know and the patchy looks small yeah and the furniture doesn't fit on it otherwise it is just
17:21uneven lawn isn't it with no easy access or activities in sight me and the boys had our
17:26work cut out with the five thousand pound budget so here is our design wow we both prioritized elegant
17:34access we made sure that the garden is easily accessed through this path so you know you can go
17:40all the way around and use it so we got this pathway that leads to this entertainment area okay very hard
17:48surface wheels work on it well playful areas and planting were all important too this whole idea
17:56of actually moving the shed really opened up this space and it means it's going to create this lovely
18:00little basketball court so this is a sunken trampoline okay alas they could only choose one design yeah
18:10well done wow the rich brothers won and i came along to bring a touch of magic to proceedings
18:21the landscaping team got straight to work creating a pathway that would make each section of the new
18:26garden easy to get to they were raising and extending the patio at the garden entrance too just one more baby
18:36hey harry and david had to create a space with mum and dad and the children in mind this side of the
18:45garden is very soft it's got some hedges it's got some some lovely plants to help to create individual
18:51spaces on the far side then we have another seating area something that is a little bit more disconnected
18:57from the house and really allows you to sit and relax but then obviously the most important
19:01yeah along the balance beam oh the basketball court david got to work adding pro sports tiles to a
19:10basketball court for phoebe and jamie just like driving between the lines
19:24i was keen to bring some unique planting to the beds look at that tiger
19:28that the landscaping team had built up
19:35a dwarf pomegranate as the boys have got fruit and veg and herbs here i thought it'd be really
19:41cool to have something a bit different in the garden and create something special for young phoebe
19:49so i'm hoping that this pot might bring a bit of magic in the garden for phoebe
19:54that could be a little stable for a unicorn don't you think just under there have you any views on
20:03unicorns they're not real charlie oh i bet you're a joy at christmas with children
20:10with my miniature garden in good shape unicorn and all the boys brought produce shrubs grasses and small
20:22trees to the new beds and borders that they'd created throughout
20:27and once all the finishing touches were in place it was time to prepare the family for the big reveal
20:37i think it's turned out right
20:45so in three two one open your eyes oh wow
20:50i am genuinely absolutely speechless yeah good oh my gosh the patio is just absolutely incredible
21:00love this what had been a big boring space
21:05now had a raised extended patio and a path for easy access
21:10harry and david had created a journey through a zoned garden that included its very own basketball court
21:17as well as new beds and borders with planting and produce that the whole family could maintain
21:24oh and a unicorn
21:28as you go out there just there's different sections i mean you you look over there and
21:31you actually can't see the raised beds from the patio and you come out and there's another section
21:37and then there's another section yeah what's what's down in there can you see what that is
21:41it's been six years since phoebe jamie louise and andy got their dream of a usable playful
22:10family garden now i'm back in northampton to see just how much things have changed
22:17hello hello hello phoebe hello how are you yeah good yeah i'm good oh and jamie as well the whole
22:26bank's approval and does the garden look good because i'm very excited yeah right come on show me
22:33show me show me come on in let's go come on in i'm excited phoebe and jamie have definitely grown
22:42up since i last saw them but what about the garden oh my goodness look at this
22:49louise and andy have been busy their borders and beds at the side and in the central space have matured
22:59wonderfully
23:03the patio area is looking much loved
23:06and new additions like a water feature bring more texture and interest to harry and david's
23:16original design now it's grown the grass is moving around yeah we love the glasses sounds that they make
23:25it's beautiful yeah yeah and that view i know we're so lucky it is absolutely beautiful hold on
23:33that's new andy's handiwork again okay you put that in yeah it's our gin deck the gin deck that was my
23:40desire it was your idea where the garden shed once sat louise and andy have created a patio area
23:46which takes advantage of the evening sunlight and magnificent views did you get permission
23:54an idea i'd pitched to them originally that looks great so you've got two seating zones now
24:01different zones parts of the day right so you chase the sun yes come on show me the rest show
24:08me the rest come this way a big part of harry and david's design was creating a bound gravel path
24:14making jamie and phoebe's journey around the garden smooth the path's still there but something's
24:22changed you changed the surface yeah it was a fantastic idea to move around but because of the
24:28gravel with the wheelchairs bit yeah in the wet in the wet so it needs quite a long time to actually
24:34compact down because it is one for wheelchairs but this so much better because this is resin bound yeah
24:42yeah but we wouldn't have been able to do it in the budget yeah from the center of the garden it's
24:51amazing to see how much the planting has grown creating structured zones from the patio to the
24:59basketball court to the produce growing area where i'm hoping the magic touch i brought is still working
25:05ah it survived every year gets refreshed phoebe does it yeah phoebe chooses the plants and designs it
25:14and you know i know the veg was something really key for you yes i see the um butterflies the cabbage
25:20white butterflies yeah the caterpillars have moved in moved in but the brussels might survive you never
25:25know but you can always give the children the kale yes cows doing really well yeah really well and it's
25:30not so prone to the cabbage white butterfly is that look peas peas were good yeah some giant
25:37courgettes i was going to say courgettes once you you know people put three or four plants in there's
25:43no way you can eat that many two corsets per family normally fine is that what i think it is it is a
25:51pomegranate it's still going i said to myself coming i went i bet the pomegranate's dead still going
26:00because they're not the easiest to keep and it's in flower flowering again you put it away don't you at
26:06winter yeah put it away wrap it i am so pleased should we celebrate with a cup of tea yeah lovely
26:13is it damn yes
26:16that extended patio with the open vista and views well i can't resist it i can see why you put this patio
26:25here i did have it in my design but look at the view back at the garden the view that way is fabulous
26:33what is the favorite space in the garden or is that too difficult i think mine are the two beds
26:41over there so when you come out of the kitchen doors you're straight into the grasses that's got
26:47to be a favorite i think but even just moving around i mean the wildlife here attracts you know
26:51and we love all the insects which come in and it's a joy to be out here it really is it's a space
26:56that we love and it's a space that we'll continue to use and tweak and develop louise and andy's
27:03touches to this garden have complemented harry and david's design all these years later but there's one
27:10thing andy is struggling with currently okay andy so we're the diggers then yeah know my place so tell
27:18tell me about this you've obviously been doing some thinning out here was that when you put the yeah so
27:24when we put the decking in the guard the bed here was deeper right um there were a lot of grasses we
27:30had in here it's sort of matured but they just got so leggy but real issues about the soil soil clay
27:36soil yeah you're grimacing there clay soil because i mean clay soil when it's wet it's so heavy and
27:42claggy you can't work it and you shouldn't work it then okay because there's no way you're going to
27:48break it up or anything like that so what we normally say is the best time if you've got to
27:53dig it and turn it over the best time is sort of late summer early autumn when you've got there's a
27:59little bit of moisture coming into it but it's not so wet in the winter time or late winter early spring
28:07and then the other thing and it works for all of them is just to improve the soil structure now there's
28:14lots of different ways of doing that but the best way is digging in or getting organic matter into
28:21the soil it's organic matter adds air breaks it up so we've got some soil improvement you can buy at the
28:27garden center and we've got some farmyard manure so we're going to do that we're going to prep it
28:33for the planting and i've got some plants so you've obviously dug over the top we've done it a little bit
28:39inch and a half some plants are actually happier on clay soils like your roses
28:51right andy that looks better once farmyard manure and soil improver is dug in oh that smell of the
28:57country yeah do you need to really dig it over all no no just work it in a bit okay a sprinkling of
29:04organic fertilizer handful sprinkle it will improve the soil fertility too and then with your other
29:12borders over there where you're not going to split them through yeah just in the autumn just top dress
29:20with you know soil improver or garden compost nice three inch layer and then the worms will slowly work
29:27it in and your soil will improve okay just keep at it so you don't need to dig it over but it's just
29:33a case of just we're we're digging it over just so we can get the plants in look at that i know oh it's
29:41a joy i don't think the soil has ever looked like that charlie that is so much better the soil already
29:49easier to work with i've organized some perennials to bring color to this border what do we think
29:55like you know and our young designers jamie and phoebe will be arranging them you're the bosses what
30:03do you want where over there looks nice right yeah yeah oh yeah that looks good what do you think about
30:11that one you're perhaps in the corner yeah yes boss we're on it with it maybe in the middle of the two
30:19plants like that one there this one there so it's a bit more symmetrical maybe right i don't know
30:24how you cope with these people you get your author's power so technically it's your fault oh okay okay
30:31okay naughty charlie are you uh potters you're happy about there yep no don't bury most of the
30:39flowers don't bury the flowers i'm not burying the flowers i'm glad i'm over here and not over there
30:45it's great to see in six years jamie and phoebe's passion for gardening and this garden has grown
30:53too oh i can smell it already that's just me they both have a very good eye what do you reckon phoebe
31:01yeah it looks good there and in just a couple of hours we've improved the soil of a lackluster border
31:08and added some lovely color so what do we think yeah we are really good colorful yeah that's good
31:16yeah really good you're ready one two three
31:28the family's garden has seen some growth in six years from hard to access and bland to structured
31:34playful and inclusive now the added interest of geraniums daylilies and japanese anemones
31:45have brought more color and vibrancy to the border
31:50i think the gardens are a happy place definitely i think you know no i don't think there's a day goes
31:56by that you don't actually go out and just appreciate what you have and i think the kids as well
32:04actually they will go outside and play and i think we we've become better as gardeners well we like
32:13to think we do if you ever need a presenters you know
32:21to see the garden develop get more color in it and just mature it's a fabulous space
32:27and i'm sure they really enjoy using it and as for that view wow
32:40we love creating gardens that remind us of subtropical climbs on garden rescue
32:46the banana trees oh my god the size of the bamboo yeah that's fantastic mate
32:57the jungle
32:59six years ago rachel alex and baby rex were looking to evoke the jungle so we went on a trip to cornwall
33:07and we discovered the lost gardens of heligan which was pretty awesome it would be nice to have that
33:15exotic feel so if we could have some palms and some big dramatic plants yes the only problem when harry david
33:24and i arrived to survey the family garden because lovely bound gravel path it was lost in the wrong
33:32kind of way look at this i mean very blank i wouldn't say very very jungly at all right there yeah but you
33:43say that but look at the plants in the container miscanthus cordylines have got that big sort of foliage
33:50effect i'm really interested in plants i don't really know how to maintain them very well but i'll
33:57have a go we had four thousand pounds to create a subtropical paradise this is our design we wanted to
34:09incorporate that kind of lost garden but within a more modern design both designs included a new patio
34:17yeah but this was going to be all about the plants using lots of plants that have got very strong
34:24shapes to them fats ears formiums so to start with we wanted to introduce some tree ferns so they're
34:30going to give a fern like leaf which is going to kind of float over and give you that jungle understory
34:36it wasn't an easy choice for the couple so we've gone with
34:44charlie's
34:49the first job was to cut out the old turf
34:51to make way for a new path and patio
35:03gonna have a bench seat built in here nice l-shaped opposite there's going to be a matching water
35:09feature but you wait until you see all the glorious plants we've got oh i plan to bring calm to the
35:16garden in the form of a water feature what not by here no it's going across here and create a family
35:23seating space using gabion baskets filled with stone pretty good no yeah i'll just chuck all these in
35:30with the garden taking shape oh my it wasn't long before we could start to add that all-important
35:37tropical planting the tree ferns there the phoenix canarians is over there patsy are there
35:46and cordyline's not sure yet but definitely in here probably a formium what do we think outside the
35:51back door there
35:58i spotted something in rachel and alex's garage that could be repurposed
36:02as the perfect finishing touch have you snooped in the garage no look what i spied here oh very zen
36:11because i think there's going to be so much full-on drama with the planting i think the water feature
36:16should be calm yes once everything was in place
36:23right so over in there we've got the cameras that's fine i think here here and here the garden
36:30was ready to show alex and rachel
36:35okay now hold on a second there's your lovely wife are you excited rachel so do you want to open your eyes
36:47wow houses oh my oh it's amazing
36:52this is ridiculous i can't believe it charlie is there enough plants in here that you like don't cry
37:02because you make me cry there's loads isn't there it's like a little jungle isn't it it's just
37:08spot on isn't it with all the foliage it's like it's amazing we don't need to go on holiday now do we
37:15we don't need to go on holiday now do we want to go on holiday now do we want to go on holiday
37:19six years on rachel alex and rex are still in nottingham and their garden is looking even more tropical
37:29the jungle planting has come of age
37:31and the family looks very much at home in their own utopia
37:45the transformation was tremendous and then the wife has progressed this for several more years and
37:52made it lovely do you remember when the garden was first done yeah you do yeah how old were you
37:5818 months in just two days six years ago this garden went from lackluster
38:07to the lost gardens of nottingham now it's a thriving all-embracing space
38:13it's looking really nice now isn't it yeah that the family has grown into
38:22here's a lovely pond and then we've put a new water lily in there as well we've made some changes
38:29over the years so we moved the water feature because that was quite central to the garden
38:37area and we thought as rex is getting older and he's playing football we just needed a bit
38:42more space in the middle so we've pushed everything towards the edges
38:46further on i think the plants that grew the best yeah since charlie's been in these three aren't
38:54they yeah these are the three quarter lines and this one is just starting to flower and the bees love
39:01that it smells gorgeous as well doesn't it yeah um and then we have to sort of strip the old leaves off
39:09um and i think it encourages the the growth then on them the garden's quite easy to maintain you know
39:17the winter months are obviously harder but um you know spring summer time it really takes off and i do
39:24a lot of bedding plants that i like to put in but yeah i do spend a lot of time in the garden now
39:31and this is my favorite area this is my beautiful tree ferns that have done so well i make sure i wrap
39:38the crowns up in winter when it gets really cold um but i love springtime because then the new fronds
39:45start coming through and they're just so lovely and they're such a nice color as well when we go to the
39:53garden centers we like to pick up bedding plants and we've got like a really great foliage backdrop
40:00but i think we like to have lots of color and every year i try and look for new things and new
40:07colors that we can introduce to the garden
40:12well some of the jungle planting has grown beyond all recognition
40:17so this is our t-rex plant uh it's done really well i think it was originally one trunk and it's now
40:23split into two but the leaves on this later on in the year they go to about a meter this one's a
40:31really good size but yeah rex loves to stand under here as well and hide away which is really funny
40:38isn't it yeah the palm trees they've doubled in size everything yeah it's grown immensely hasn't it
40:48i think it's everything's grown a lot quicker than i was expecting really so i'm happy that the plants
40:55are happy there's now even more to this garden than the plants and trees we brought in
41:00where we'd positioned gabion seating and planting there's now a pergola and extended patio
41:11yeah it's a really nice little patio and i love to have some hanging baskets on here and there's our
41:17herbs our new herbs we've got the whistaria in the corner as well so we're hoping to trail that along
41:24the fence as well and then we converted the garage into another room where we can relax and entertain so
41:40let's have a look in the converted uh garage which is now our bar inspired by my rummaging through their
41:47rather crowded garage oh and look who's in here hi alex and rachel have created their very own jungle
41:55themed garden room charlie was in our garage and she dug out the indian lady we've put it in the water
42:02feature and that's why we decided to convert it dedicated to my nan and grandad we've called it the
42:07glenrick we should have called it the dimmick actually yeah we've kept the jungle theme going on
42:15we've got a few plants in here and one of the main things we did we changed the garage door to the
42:20bifolds and then the old garage door is now a nice window feature which when you look out
42:26it really does look like a jungle yeah it's like a picture frame isn't it yeah good view out there
42:32it is a good view how the garden was before a garden rescue came it was so blank there was like three
42:41pots i'm so proud of what we've achieved now it's really come on and it looks really mature
42:53i enjoy helping mum in the garden i'm hoping to grow some fruit and some veg in the garden this year
43:01it's been a privilege to revisit the gardens we built so long ago and see them thrive
43:06and what's more inspiring is that nicola and david louise and andy carbon looks nice does look good
43:16and rachel and alex have developed a true love and passion for wonderful outdoor spaces
43:22ah that's better getting more hands-on with their garden than they were before we came to visit
43:36we have been in the garden for our city is a beautiful year.
43:39we have been listening the garden for josephalЭpti who is being a musician in this region
