00:00Well, and that surprised many was Buffalo being upset by the Miami Dolphins.
00:04Now, Miami scoring in this game was not surprising to me.
00:06Best bet over the team total, 20 in the half.
00:08There was a moment where it was like, oh, gosh,
00:11this team is going to actually not score again in the second half.
00:14But Devon A-Chain handled that with not just one, but two monster runs
00:18in the fourth quarter, one of 59 yards and another of 35.
00:20Each of those went for touchdowns.
00:22A-Chain ran for 174 yards and it's a very, very injured Buffalo Bills defense.
00:30But again, this would feel a little bit different
00:32if the only thing that went wrong was the Buffalo Bills defense.
00:35Josh Allen, this offense was awful.
00:37The 306 passing yards are not representative of how this game looked.
00:41Even the four-point yards per carry is not.
00:44Josh Allen's 28.8 QBR, that's more like it.
00:48The turnovers were bad.
00:50The offense didn't score a point through the first three quarters of this game.
00:56They didn't get their second touchdown on the board until there was less
01:00than four minutes remaining.
01:01And it didn't make a difference really in the game overall, Joe.
01:06How concerning was this loss for the Buffalo Bills?
01:09Oh, concerning.
01:10You knock off Pat Mahomes 28-21.
01:14You dominated at home.
01:15The front seven that was, you know, called out in that matchup,
01:18got multiple pressures on Patrick Mahomes and made him look human in that win.
01:24And then all of a sudden you go on the road to South Beach
01:26and you come out completely flat.
01:28Your offense converts five of 15 on third-down conversions.
01:32You're able to move the football basically between the 40s
01:35but can't get into the red zone against a dead football team
01:38that shipped Jalen Phillips and a number of others out the door,
01:42including their GM, Chris Greer.
01:45I mean, this was a gutless football team in Miami.
01:47You made them look like basically Super Bowl champs.
01:50I mean, to get blown out by Miami is pathetic if you're McDermott and the crew.
01:57And again, he falls on the head coach.
01:59He doesn't get enough.
02:01I mean, really.
02:02I mean, you can make the argument that McDermott hasn't coached his team up
02:06with having great talent.
02:08I think that that argument is there.
02:09I think for this Buffalo regime, you are staring down the barrel of major changes
02:16because you may end up with what will be their biggest missed opportunity
02:21during this entire run.
02:24That, again, sometimes you miss an opportunity in the playoffs, right?
02:29The Buffalo Bills beat Kansas City, Joe, last week, right?
02:33We've talked about a trio of teams within the AFC, Buffalo, Kansas City, and Baltimore.
02:41And we think about the seasons that we've seen for both Baltimore and Kansas City.
02:45Chiefs are 5-4, super abnormal for who they are.
02:48Ravens are 4-5, even more abnormal.
02:51Odds to win their division.
02:53Baltimore, minus 220.
02:55Chiefs, plus 150.
02:57The Bills are plus 195.
02:59It is now, from what was a week ago, Buffalo conference favorites, team to beat,
03:09a week later, they are now more likely than either KC or Baltimore
03:15to be the one who's a wild card team.
03:18A five seed who has to go to Baltimore to start their postseason run.
03:23We'll be booked as a dog if that's the case there.
03:24It is so unacceptable for the Buffalo Bills.
03:30And we talk about the easy New England schedule.
03:32Bill's schedule has been just about as easy.
03:34Again, the biggest difference between the two teams is they played one another in Buffalo,
03:38and the Bills lost.
03:39Joe, this is one of the most unacceptable seasons we have seen.
03:43I know the sky hasn't fully fallen.
03:46I know there's a lot of runway left here.
03:47Maybe they'll still find a way to win a division.
03:49But anything other than winning the division is the bare minimum for this football team.
03:54Yeah, absolutely.
03:55And we talk about that bell curve.
03:57They're on the back side.
03:58They're on the back nine right now.
03:59But it does fall on McDermott.
04:01And the biggest thing, and I don't want to take the success of Rabel and the Patriots away,
04:07because they are 5-0 on the road.
04:09That is a huge definer when we look at can this team win multiple playoff games
04:15en route to a championship.
04:16I would much rather buy in on both of these teams now.
04:20Even though I said Drake May hasn't won a playoff game, they're battle-tested.
04:24They're finding ways, even though it might be sub-500 competition,
04:28to knock these teams off and win on the road.
04:30Where you look at Buffalo, they're 6-3.
04:33They're a 500-road team.
04:34With Josh Allen.
04:35With James Cook.
04:36Now, we knew their defense had problems.
04:39We got that.
04:39They were never going to be considered a top-five unit.
04:42But the problem is, is that this team now is playing down to the legs.
04:48This was a two-win football team.
04:50Yeah.
04:51A two-win football team.
04:52And they were dead.
04:54They got blown out by Lamar Jackson.
04:56And you allowed them to kick your ass in South Beach.
05:01I mean, it's unacceptable.
05:02I mean, it's unacceptable.
