00:00The Slidell Police Department is investigating a mid-afternoon bank robbery that occurred at
00:05Fidelity Bank on Gause Boulevard. The suspect entered the bank and appeared to be handicapped
00:12and or injured as he walked with a fake limp, had a cane, and a neck brace. The suspect passed a
00:21note to the teller while shouting that it was a robbery and started demanding money. He then
00:26fled the scene without a limp, with an undisclosed amount of cash. The suspect was seen running down
00:34Choctaw Drive into a nearby neighborhood. Slidell Police K9 units responded in an effort to track
00:41the suspect. However, investigators believe he may have escaped the area in a vehicle. The suspect was
00:48described as a black male wearing a gray track suit, a COVID mask, neck brace, bucket hat, clear fanny pack,
00:56and carrying a cane.
