Macédoine du Nord : Mickoski dénonce une « intimidation » dans le processus d’adhésion à l’UE

Après avoir passé plus de deux décennies dans la salle d'attente de l'adhésion à l'UE, la Macédoine du Nord espère que l'attente va enfin prendre fin alors que le Premier ministre Mickoski déclare à Euronews que l'adhésion de son pays a été retardée par des « différends artificiels ».

06:03Constitution, then?
06:06Why are we not
06:07talking about Macedonian community in Bulgaria?
06:10What about their human rights?
06:13What about
06:13their human rights?
06:15Because they are not allowed
06:17to register non-governmental
06:20organization. We are not talking about
06:21change of Bulgarian
06:24Constitution. We are not talking about
06:25a sort of reciprocity.
06:27We are talking about
06:29registering non-governmental organization.
06:32And what we are saying, okay,
06:33previous, the best
06:36corruptive government in Europe
06:38accepted that
06:40deal to change Constitution,
06:42suspending the parliament
06:43in my country, suspending
06:46the voice of the parliament in my
06:48country, and they are now in the
06:50history. There is
06:52a new government, and this new government is saying,
06:54okay,
06:55those guys,
06:58those ladies and gentlemen, accept it.
07:00But what about
07:03international law?
07:05What about resolution
07:07that is protecting
07:08human rights in the countries
07:11which are
07:12in the perimeter of European
07:14Union?
07:15How do you communicate that
07:16specifically with this community?
07:19How do you build
07:20this dialogue with them?
07:23Trying to convince
07:24them, probably,
07:25or explain it to them?
07:27You mean about
07:29Bulgarian community?
07:31Community.
07:31They have all the rights.
07:33Our Constitution is
07:35that like.
07:36They have literally
07:37all the rights.
07:39Practically,
07:40they are a part of
07:41of our institutions.
07:43But, okay, again,
07:44I'm saying, okay,
07:45they are in,
07:46we are out,
07:47this is a bit of bullying,
07:49okay,
07:49we would like to see
07:50ourselves on the table
07:52in Brussels,
07:53and what is now
07:55the price,
07:56and whether this is
07:57the last price
07:57that we should pay?
07:59This is the real question.
08:01How do you see
08:02the other EU membership
08:03hopefuls,
08:04the candidate countries,
08:05who are facing
08:07quite similar obstacles
08:09on their path?
08:10what would be some kind
08:11of piece of advice
08:12that you could share
08:13with your experience?
08:14Again, given that
08:15you had to overcome
08:16first one veto,
08:18then the second one veto,
08:19and then, as you said,
08:20who knows which one
08:22might come next?
08:24I can't remember
08:25a similar case.
08:28Maybe in the past
08:29that was a dispute
08:30between Slovenia and Croatia.
08:33In the meantime...
08:35There is a certain veto
08:36happening now
08:36with the candidate countries,
08:37as we've heard
08:38with the president of Ukraine
08:39I'm talking about the past.
08:41About the current situation,
08:42I'm not surprised.
08:44I'm not surprised
08:45that the similar situation
08:46will occur in the future.
08:48Because if someone
08:50is witnessing
08:51that this veto tool works,
08:54then we should apply
08:56the same recipe.
08:57Why not?
08:58Because if someone dares
09:00to bully someone else
09:02who wants to join the club,
09:04why the other
09:05should be silent?
09:06this is not normal.
09:07If we are
09:09accepting
09:11that principle
09:12once,
09:13then this principle
09:14will destroy
09:15all the values
09:16developed by
09:17Degasperi, Schumann
09:19and Adonauer
09:19when this
09:20organization
09:21was developed.
09:23So,
09:24the European Union
09:25itself
09:25should ask
09:26themselves
09:27what we are doing.
09:29what we are doing
09:31with this unanimity
09:32and
09:33is it according
09:35to the principles
09:35and values
09:36based on
09:38which
09:38we've been
09:39developed.
09:41And in this
09:41current situation,
09:42my final question
09:43to you would be
09:44how disappointing
09:46it is
09:47for average
09:48Macedonians
09:49to,
09:49as you say,
09:50for over two decades
09:51to be,
09:52these are generations
09:53who've been waiting
09:54for over two decades
09:55and yet
09:56facing these
09:57roadblocks.
09:57Are they losing
09:59the motivation
09:59to join the
10:00European Union?
10:01No, definitely.
10:02The support
10:02is the highest
10:03in the region
10:03maybe
10:04or among
10:04the highest
10:05in the region.
10:06I'm working
10:06as a professor
10:07and teaching
10:08mechatronics.
10:09For me,
10:10it was
10:10in my previous life
10:12and now
10:13I'm the
10:13Prime Minister
10:15for almost
10:15a year and a half.
10:16but I was
10:18very sorry
10:19when I was
10:20witnessing
10:21how my students
10:22are willing
10:24to depart
10:25from the country.
10:25Why?
10:25Because simply
10:26they were missing
10:28hope.
10:29They felt
10:30hopeless
10:31and
10:32most of them
10:34are living
10:36now in the
10:37European countries,
10:38in the EU countries.
10:41When I was
10:42elected as a
10:43Prime Minister,
10:43I said,
10:43okay,
10:45this is a hurdle.
10:45probably
10:46there will be
10:47a lot of challenges
10:48in front of us
10:49until the very end.
10:51This is the destiny
10:53of the
10:53small nations.
10:54The big ones
10:55are doing
10:55what they can
10:56and the small ones
10:57are doing
10:57what they must.
10:58Unfortunately,
10:59we are small.
11:01But let's do
11:02our homework.
11:03Let's finish
11:03our homework.
11:04Let's create
11:05a good environment.
11:06Let's bring back
11:07home youngsters
11:08and let's develop
11:09something
11:10that will
11:10be good for them.
11:13And let's
11:14deliver
11:14homework
11:15that will
11:16impress
11:17EU.
11:18And maybe
11:18then
11:19someone from
11:19EU will say
11:20enough is enough.
11:22Let's do
11:22something for them.
11:24Otherwise,
11:26this is damaging
11:26our values
11:28and practically
11:29this does not
11:31have a future.
11:33And that's why
11:33I do believe
11:34that we need
11:35to finish
11:36our homework
11:37and we are
11:38delivering
11:38since we were
11:40elected as a government.
11:41Thank you very
11:42much.
11:42We'll have
11:42to wrap it
11:43up here.
11:43Thank you
11:44for this
11:44experience
11:45and for
11:45sharing it
11:46with us
11:47here for
11:47the
11:47enlargement
11:48talks.
11:48That was
11:4812 minutes
11:49with Prime
11:50Minister of
11:50North Macedonia,
11:52Ristian
11:52Mitskoski.
11:53Thank you.
11:53Thank you for
11:53invitation.
