00:00An investigation into 11-year-old Jaden Shahatta's death, which concluded he was distracted by his
00:05phone, has outraged his parents. Back in January, Jaden was hit by a southern train whilst walking
00:10to school at the Bourneville footpath crossing in Kenley. Jaden normally walked to school with
00:14his brother, but on the morning of his death, he decided to go alone. Despite findings by the
00:19Rail Accident Investigation Branch, Jaden's parents claimed their son was killed by neglect
00:23from the railway. The investigation did note that the public footpath which leads to the crossing
00:28was overgrown with vegetation. The family, who used to live only 350 yards from the crossing,
00:33have now relocated to get away from the site of the tragedy. A spokesman from the RAIB
00:38said they will be reaching out to the Shahatta family to address the issues they have raised.
