00:00There was also that cave that you see on the left side of the picture
00:07and all the other pagan altars that were there.
00:12This is 25 miles north of the Sea of Galilee location
00:17on a mass water supply that feeds the Jordan.
00:22This is where water comes out of the ground from the melting snows of Mount Hermon.
00:31Mount Hermon is like a sponge.
00:34And water falls, whether it's snow or rain,
00:38and goes through that mountain and eventually pops out of the ground.
00:44And this is why we call it the Hermon Spring also.
00:48Originally, in the 3rd century before Christ, when the Greek arrived,
00:54the water would come out of the cave, out of the mouth of the cave.
00:59So the Greeks were so amazed at the beauty and the majesty of this area.
01:04And they decided that this place will be the place of worship of their deity that they call Pan.
01:12And they named it Panias.
01:15Originally, it was called Baal Hermon, where Baal was worshiped.
01:20But then Panias.
01:22Panias was this location of Pan, the worship of Pan, who was half a goat, half a man.
01:31The upper part was goat, the face, and man.
01:35And so it's very interesting because if you really think about it, you look all around satanic symbols, satanic worship.
01:44What do you see?
01:45A figure of a goat head all over.
01:50And they used to throw animal sacrifices into that cave.
01:59And if blood came out, then he rejected.
02:01If nothing came out, then he accepted.
02:03They were terrified of that god.
02:05That's why the word panic came to the world from Pan.
02:09And it's often depicted playing the flute also.
02:17In the city's modern name, Banias, or the region Banias, is from the Arabic corruption of Panias.
02:25Arabs have a hard time pronouncing P.
02:27They turned into B, like Bamila, Pamela, Bita bread, Pita bread.
02:37And so Banias is because it was Panias.
02:41Under the Roman Empire, Augustus Caesar eventually gave this area to Herod the Great, who later on turned into his son.
02:50And this is why there was a temple dedicated to Augustus Caesar right there as well.
02:57So in short, Caesarea Philippi has a very long history of pagan worship, which makes Jesus' message all the more significant.
03:07This place was, for the most part, avoided by the Jewish people.
03:12The Jewish people thought that this cave is the gates of hell.
03:18And so much demonic activity there.
03:22And no wonder why Jesus later on said to Peter,
03:25And the gates of hell shall not prevail against the church.
03:29Remember that right there.
03:31So let's read the account.
03:32But before we read it, I want you to know that the whole worship of goats, and goat-headed, and goat-bodied deities was something that existed even way before.
03:44In the Old Testament, in Leviticus, it says, they shall no more offer their sacrifices.
03:51And in your poor English translation, it says, just to demons.
03:59But the Hebrew is Seirim. Seirim is goats.
04:04And so the goat-demons, basically.
04:09After whom they also have played the harlot.
04:11The sexual immorality has always been associated with satanic worship.
04:15They always go together.
04:17You should have seen in Detroit a few years ago.
04:22I've got the video.
04:23I won't show it to you.
04:25But they inaugurated, they unveiled a satanic sculpture.
04:35They literally unveiled it.
04:37And they cried out, hail Satan.
04:41And right there, as they unveiled it, two men were kissing.
04:47During the unveiling.
04:49Sexual immorality has always been associated, always been involved, always been injected, always been part of satanic worship.
04:56Just so you understand.
04:58And even here, in that verse, we can see that association.
05:02So let's go back to Matthew 16, verses 13 to 23.
05:06When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples.
05:12Now, it's not a coincidence why they stopped there.
05:14Normally, he would teach or stop in places where there's water.
05:19In those days, you need to stop.
05:21You need to rest.
05:22You're walking all day long.
05:23You need to drink.
05:25In those places of rest, he would also teach, and he would also ask them questions such as this.
05:31And he asked them this,
05:33Who do men say that I, the Son of Man, am?
05:38And all of them are like,
05:40Oh, listen, you know, some say you're John the Baptist, some Elijah, others Jeremiah, or one of the prophets.
05:49They started debating.
05:50Yeah.
05:51Who are you?
05:52This, they, that.
05:53I heard someone say this.
05:54Oh, yeah.
05:55And I heard someone.
05:56And then he said, okay, okay.
05:58But who do you?
06:00You, my followers.
06:05You, who followed me for the last year or two.
06:08You, who have seen me, who have been with me.
06:11You, who call yourself followers of Christ.
06:16Who do you say that I am?
06:21All were quiet except of one who, boom, said something that he did not even understand the content thereof.
06:39Peter answered and said, you are the Christ, the Son of the living God.
06:46Something came out of his mouth.
06:49Something that he never heard from anyone before.
06:52Something that no rabbi will teach.
06:54No synagogue will teach.
06:56No group of people will ever talk about.
06:59Something that is as far from the Jewish tradition as East from the West.
07:03Something that is foreign to the Jewish culture and understanding that the Messiah is God's son.
07:11Although it's biblical.
07:13Although the book of Proverbs said about who ascended to heaven and descended.
07:18What's his name?
07:19And what's his son's name?
07:20You shall know.
07:21The Bible's talk about, he's talking about the son of God.
07:23The Bible is talking about the Messiah.
07:25The Bible is, is, is giving us all, but they did not want to deal with that.
07:30They were looking forward for a man who will bring peace, prosperity, and freedom from the Roman Empire.
07:38And therefore, when Peter said that, it had to have been what?
07:46A revelation.
07:48Because he did not know that.
07:50This is why Jesus, the Bible said, answered and said to him,
07:56Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah.
08:01By the way, this Simon Bar-Jonah, the son of Jonah.
08:04I mean, think about it.
08:06Simon Peter and Jonah had a lot in common.
08:08I mean, they all, they both wanted to run away from the task to go to a Gentiles and preach.
08:16If you understand that, if you remember.
08:19But it's interesting.
08:20And then he said, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you.
08:28It's a revelation.
08:30And this revelation has never been given to you by any living creature.
08:35Flesh and blood did not reveal that to you.
08:38You did not hear it from anyone.
08:40But what?
08:42My Father who is in heaven.
08:47Think about it.
08:48And Peter is like, oh, me?
08:53And then he's looking at all the other disciples.
08:57And then, after this proclamation and confession that was not given to him by men,
09:26but by God.
09:29Jesus now feels comfortable.
09:32For the first time in his ministry, he is telling them the future of his ministry.
09:40And look what he says.
09:42Then, first of all, he commanded his disciples that they should tell no one that he was Jesus there.
09:53Christ.
09:54Christ.
09:55What is Christ?
09:56Christ is an English word based on the Greek word Christos.
10:03The Greek word Christos is the Hebrew word Mashiach, Messiah, anointed one.
10:09So basically, Jesus is telling his disciples, don't tell anyone, I am the Messiah.
10:17Now you're probably asking yourself, why would he say that?
10:19Because they would get it wrong.
10:21They'll immediately run to find a crown and tell everyone, this is it.
10:27Fight the Romans.
10:28We found the king.
10:29Put him in Jerusalem.
10:30He's going to reign and rule.
10:31And that's not what he came for.
10:38Not only that he told them, tell no one, but look what the Bible says.
10:44From that time, Jesus, the Bible says, began.
10:49That means he never did it before.
10:51He began to show to his disciples that he, what?
10:58Say that together.
10:59He must, not maybe, could be, probably, possibly.
11:04He must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the elders and the priests and the scribes.
11:13And he must be killed and must be raised the third day.
11:19And he's telling them that and they're like, what?
11:25And Peter, that Peter with a head that big, he just, three minutes ago, he was sure that he heard from God.
11:42And therefore, this is the Messiah.
11:48And yet, in his mind, he is fixed on what men say that Messiah is.
11:57Not what God says that Messiah is.
12:00So what is he doing?
12:02All of that, what Jesus said, sounded so unrealistic and so unnecessary and such a, almost shameful and an embarrassment for him.
12:15So, Peter took Jesus aside and began to what?
12:21Rebuke him.
12:23The one who just confessed that Jesus is God, son of the living God.
12:28That same one is not rebuking him.
12:31And look what he says.
12:33Far be it from you, Lord, this shall not happen to you.
12:37What is he actually saying?
12:39You should not suffer.
12:41You should not be crucified.
12:43You should not die.
12:44You should not be buried.
12:46You should not resurrect on the third day.
12:54Who is interested in that Jesus will not die for our sins and not resurrect from the dead to defeat sin and death?
13:09Who is interested in this?
13:12And so, Jesus.
13:14He did not scream.
13:15He did not shout.
13:16He did not take something and threw at Peter.
13:20And he looked at Peter.
13:22At the same Peter that five minutes ago he smiled at and said, blessed are you, Simon.
13:29At the same Peter, he looked at him and he said, get behind me, Satan.
13:36And then he explained why.
13:39You are an offense to me.
13:42Anyone that suggests that Jesus could have avoided his death.
13:49That it was an accident.
13:51It was an unnecessary thing.
13:52That I wish he did not.
13:54Anyone that says that is an offense to Jesus.
13:58If you lament the fact that he died for you.
14:04And you think that it was unnecessary.
14:07And you think, I wish he was still alive.
14:09I wish the story was different.
14:11You are an offense to him.
14:13And he said, why?
14:17Because you are not mindful of the things of God, but the things of men.
14:26Men don't want to deal with sin.
14:30Men don't want to even understand that Messiah is connected to the solution for sin.
14:41Men only want him as a king coming on a horse to reign and rule.
14:48Just like, you know, all the Christmas stories.
14:50All what we have is what?
14:51The sticky story of Santa Claus coming and giving you presents.
14:55No one talks about why he really came to the world.
15:00It's all lovey-dovey.
15:02Let's hold hands, sing Kumbaya.
15:04All of this.
15:06Every Christmas movie I see.
15:08It's stickier than the one before.
15:12Or you got your Easter thing of, what?
15:16Bunnies and eggs?
15:18How can egg hunting be anything that has to do with the resurrection of Jesus?
15:22I still don't know.
15:24But we, men, we love to celebrate things based on the things of men.
15:34Not on the things of God.
15:39Jesus, number one, had to address the false Jewish perception of the Messiah.
15:45The Jewish people missed the connection between sin and the Messiah.
15:50This is precisely the scheme of the devil.
15:52That's why they rejected Jesus.
15:54Because, you know, they never had a problem with him as Messiah.
16:00They never.
16:02Show me one verse where they wanted him dead because he says he's the Messiah.
16:06Nowhere.
16:07Nowhere.
16:08The problem of the Jewish people with him is when he said that he's God.
16:15And the problem of the Jews is that he suggested that God's son had to die.
16:24He actually handed himself over.
16:29The Jewish people became focused on the things of men in order to become righteous.
16:34They thought that righteousness comes out of works.
16:38Out of religion.
16:40When I came to friends who started telling me about Jesus and without even accepting him yet.
16:47I remember the first thing I did, I started reading the Old Testament.
16:50I didn't have a New Testament yet.
16:52I remember the most, you know, amazing thing for me was the prophets.
16:57The first prophet I read was Isaiah.
16:59First chapter.
17:00When you come to appear before me, who has required this from your hand to trample my courts?
17:08Bring no more feudal sacrifices.
17:11Incest is an abomination to me.
17:14The new moons, the Sabbaths, and the calling of assemblies.
17:18I cannot endure iniquity and the sacred meetings.
17:21He said, your new moons, your appointed feasts, my soul hates.
17:29I read it on without a heart attack.
17:31God just said through the prophet Isaiah that he hates religion.
17:37He hates religion.
17:40He hates that they do, they do, they do, they do.
17:43But iniquity was not dealt with.
17:46Transgression was not dealt with.
17:48That's why he said, all these things are trouble to me.
17:54I'm wary of burying them.
17:55He said, when you spread your hands, I will hide my eyes from you.
18:00Even though you make many prayers, I will not hear.
18:04Your hands are full of blood.
18:06And he says, you have to wash yourself.
18:09Make yourself clean.
18:11Put away the evil of your doings from before my eyes.
18:14In other words, you have to repent.
18:17You have to understand your sinful nature.
18:22Cease to do evil.
18:23Learn to do good.
18:24Seek justice.
18:25Rebuke the oppressors.
18:26Defend the fatherless.
18:27Plead for the widow.
18:28Come now and let us reason together, says the Lord.
18:32If you repent, if you confess, if you then understand your need for a change, then I will forgive you your sins.
18:46Though your sins are like scarlet, they shall be as white as snow.
18:49Though they are red like crimson, they shall be as wool.
18:53He said to the Jewish people, I hate the religion you turn my word into.
19:05By the way, he hates all religions.
19:08You think that Catholicism, and you think that Orthodox Christianity, and you think that some, you know, all Eastern version, all Western version.
19:19You think that any form of religion is accepted by God?
19:23Absolutely not.
19:25If a person is not born again, he can never enter into the kingdom of God, period.
19:32It doesn't matter.
19:33You have people tell me I was born a Christian.
19:35No one is born a Christian.
19:36Not a single person on planet earth was born a Christian.
19:40Why do you say that it's on my birth certificate?
19:43Well, it's wrong.
19:45You should have said sinner, born sinner.
19:49How can you be born a Christian?
19:51Jesus said to Nicodemus, if you remember, you must be born what?
19:56Again.
19:59And Nicodemus, who?
20:01I must go back to my mother's womb.
20:03No!
20:04The second birth is a spiritual one.
20:07One must be born of the water, which is your first, and of the spirit.
20:16You cannot be born again upon your birth.
20:24They, Jewish people were attempting to avoid sin by keeping the law, which only led to more hypocrisy.
20:32Furthermore, the law was designed to expose their sin and the need for the Messiah.
20:38You understand that?
20:39When Jesus had to deal with the woman that was caught in adultery, and everybody raised their stones to stone her,
20:46and they continued asking him, he raised himself up and he said to them,
20:50He who is without sin among you, let him throw the stone at her first.
20:55You're all religious, you want to fulfill the law?
20:59Okay, no problem.
21:01Any one of you that has no sin, pick up the stone first and throw.
21:07They all left.
21:10Galatians says,
21:12Therefore, the law was our tutor to bring us to Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
21:23But after faith has come, we are no longer under a tutor.
21:28You understand?
21:31Let no one judge you for food and drinks, or the Sabbath, or new moons and the holidays.
21:38For these are the shadow of things to come.
21:42Colossians chapter 2 says,
21:44But the substance is Christ.
21:46Look at me, you see shadow, okay?
21:49If I go in the street, and the sun is shining, and I put my hand like that, you see a long shadow.
21:56And you look at the shadow, and suddenly I appear.
21:59Are you going to shake your hands with the shadow, or with me?
22:03When I appear, will you say hello to the shadow, or to me?
22:07Well, when Jesus came, and he's the substance, and the shadow has been there all along.
22:13Then now, you don't need to talk to the shadow anymore.
22:16Yes, the shadow was there to tell you that I'm about to come, that I'm around the corner.
22:21Here I am.
22:22But then when I'm there, who needs the shadow?
22:25Oh, let me look at the shadow.
22:28Who?
22:29Will you answer me if I talk?
22:31No.
22:32James says,
22:35If you really fulfill the royal law according to the scripture, you shall love your neighbor as yourself.
22:42You do well.
22:43But if you show partiality, you commit sin, and are convicted by the law as transgressors.
22:48For whoever shall keep the whole law, and yet stumble in one point, he's guilty of all.
22:57The Old Testament connected sin to the need for the Messiah.
23:03Make no mistake.
23:04The fact that the Jews don't believe that the first coming was about sin, doesn't mean the Bible didn't say that.
23:12It means they never read or believed what the Bible said.
23:15If you look at the Passover lamb story in the book of Exodus, you see very, very carefully that they had to put some of the blood and put it on the two doorposts and on the lintel of the houses where they ate it.
23:30And look what he says.
23:33Now the blood shall be a sign for you on the houses where you are.
23:38And when I see the blood, I will pass over you and the plague shall not be on you.
23:49In other words, it wasn't when I see the Jews, I will pass.
23:55It was when I see the blood.
23:58Atonement is in the blood.
24:01Leviticus 17, 11 says,
24:04For the life of the flesh is in the blood.
24:07And I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls.
24:13For it is the blood that makes atonement for your souls.
24:17So that's why he had to die.
24:23As the ultimate sacrifice to bring perfect atonement.
24:28Not only that atonement and Messiah were always connected and sin and the need for Messiah were connected.
24:41Even his suffering was described all throughout the Bible.
24:44I don't have time to read all, but I can tell you Psalm 22 speaks of his suffering.
24:50Psalm 38 speaks of his suffering.
24:53Isaiah 53,
24:55Surely he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows.
24:59Yet we esteemed him as stricken, smitten by God and afflicted.
25:04But he was wounded for our transgressions.
25:08He was bruised for our iniquities.
25:12The chastitement for our peace was upon him.
25:16And by his stripes we are healed.
25:20That's the Old Testament.
25:23That's the book of Isaiah.
25:25Not just his suffering, his death was prophesied also.
25:29In Psalm 31 you can see that.
25:31In Psalm 31 you can see that.
25:34Psalm 41 you can see that as well.
25:37And in Psalm 69 you can see that as well.
25:41And even Daniel chapter 9 is speaking of Messiah shall be cut off.
25:46And if that's not enough, even his resurrection was prophesied in the Old Testament.
25:52Job chapter 19 is speaking of it.
25:55Psalm 16 is speaking of it.
25:58Psalm 118 is speaking of it.
26:01Isaiah 25 is speaking of it.
26:04And this is why when Jesus appeared to the two disciples who went out of Jerusalem to the village of Emmaus.
26:14If you remember.
26:15They left Jerusalem on Sunday morning.
26:18Right after they already heard that he is not in the grave.
26:22That the angels said that he is alive.
26:24They left Jerusalem.
26:26And they were angry and confused.
26:28And mostly sad.
26:30And Jesus appears and says.
26:32What are those things that you talk to one another.
26:35And you are so sad.
26:36Jesus is looking at two of his own disciples.
26:39Running away from Jerusalem.
26:41With shame, confusion and fear.
26:43And what?
26:44And they are sad.
26:46He is alive.
26:48He is risen.
26:49He is walking next to them.
26:51And they are sad.
26:53And they are telling him how much they are disappointed with Jesus.
26:58They are telling Jesus how much they are disappointed.
27:02And he is listening and listening.
27:07I will never forget when I was CEO of Sar El Tours.
27:12You can never please everyone.
27:17You know that.
27:20Well two years after that.
27:21I felt that God is calling me.
27:23To something else.
27:24I stepped down.
27:27And got back to guiding tours.
27:31I am sitting in the tour guides room.
27:34Where we wait for the groups to finish their tour.
27:36In the garden tomb.
27:38And all the tour guides are there.
27:39And just.
27:40We are all gossiping there.
27:43And so I am sitting there.
27:46And three tour guides.
27:48They have no clue who I am.
27:50Never seen me.
27:52And they gossip on a mirror.
27:55And trash me.
27:59Like crazy.
28:00And I am sitting there.
28:02And they talk to me about me.
28:04And you know what Jesus said to those two disciples.
28:17After they finished ranting.
28:20He said,
28:21Oh foolish ones and slow of heart.
28:24He said to the disciples.
28:27Not to the Romans.
28:28And not to the Pharisees.
28:29Or the Sadducees.
28:30To the disciples.
28:31He says you foolish ones.
28:33And slow of heart to believe that which the prophets have spoken.
28:37Every Shabbat you heard the prophets read.
28:41You heard Isaiah 53.
28:43You heard all the Psalms.
28:45In fact in those days they used to chant Psalms.
28:48And learn it by heart.
28:51And you never believed it.
28:54And he said,
28:55Ought not the Christ to have suffered these things.
29:00And to enter into his glory.
29:02And beginning with Moses.
29:14And all the prophets.
29:17He expounded to them.
29:20In all scriptures.
29:24The things concerning.
29:27You're in the wrong.
29:28Yeah.
29:29Expounded to them in all scriptures.
29:32The things concerning himself.
29:37Wow.
29:42Number two.
29:43Satan was seeking to prevent the resurrection.
29:46He wanted Jesus dead.
29:48But not resurrect.
29:50This should not surprise us.
29:52Because Satan has been determined to destroy the seed.
29:55Christ.
29:56Since the garden.
29:57The first prophecy in the whole Bible.
29:59Was in Genesis chapter 3 verse 15.
30:01If you remember that.
30:02In the garden.
30:03It says,
30:04I will put enmity between you and the woman.
30:06And between your seed and her seed.
30:08Women normally don't have seed.
30:10Hello?
30:11Eggs?
30:12Not seed.
30:13Not seed.
30:14But the seed of the woman.
30:16Is because there was no men.
30:18Because it was the Holy Spirit.
30:20If you know.
30:21And that seed of the woman.
30:23Will be the one who is going to bruise that enemy.
30:27On his head.
30:28Crush it.
30:29This is to put Satan on notice.
30:34Your end is near.
30:36The seed of the woman is going to come and destroy you.
30:40And Satan was on a defense from that moment on.
30:44And he couldn't help it.
30:45But he was seeking.
30:46Who is the one?
30:48Next chapter.
30:50Cain and Abel.
30:51He was.
30:52Okay.
30:53Of course.
30:54Abel is the good guy.
30:55Cain is the bad guy.
30:56Let's have the good guy killed.
30:58First murder.
31:00Chapter 4.
31:02And when he realized that God starts a new thing.
31:06With a new nation from Abraham, Isaac and Jacob.
31:09Then he told Pharaoh to kill all the Hebrew babies.
31:13And when that was not enough.
31:15And the Jewish people were dispersed.
31:17He told Haman to kill all the Jewish people.
31:21And if that's not enough.
31:22When Jesus was already born.
31:25He told Herod to go and kill all the babies from to and below.
31:29That were born in that area.
31:31Satan did not want Jesus to be born.
31:35But once he was born.
31:37He tried to kill him.
31:38But when that didn't work.
31:40And the ministry of Jesus began to flourish.
31:43Satan tried to recruit him.
31:45In the desert.
31:46In the desert.
31:4740 days.
31:48Let me show you what I can give you.
31:50Ah.
31:51Hmm.
31:52Look.
31:53All the kingdoms of the world.
31:55I can give it to you.
31:57If you join me.
31:58Ooh la la.
32:00I don't know if he had French accent.
32:02But I'm just telling you.
32:04When he couldn't recruit him.
32:09He sought again to kill him.
32:11And prevent the resurrection.
32:14Matthew 26.
32:16Jesus told his disciples.
32:18All of you will be made to stumble because of me this night.
32:23For it is written.
32:24I will strike the shepherd.
32:26And the sheep of the flock will be scattered.
32:29By the way Jesus quoted Zechariah.
32:34Jesus never quoted the New Testament even once.
32:39I will shock you even more.
32:45Jesus was not a Christian.
32:48Some of you are like.
32:51Okay.
32:52That's too much.
32:53It's heresy.
32:54How can Christ be a Christian when a Christian is a follower of Christ?
32:58Hello?
32:59Now number three.
33:02Peter was unknowingly acting as the mouthpiece of Satan.
33:06You know how many Christians unknowingly are the mouthpiece of Satan?
33:09I get their emails every day.
33:11And literally the venom and the poison that they write.
33:19It's the mouthpiece of Satan.
33:22I can see that.
33:23I say get behind me Satan.
33:25That's not from God.
33:28This type of language cannot come from anyone who really professes to be a follower of Christ.
33:37You are not a Christian because you raise up your voice when you teach.
33:42That's what they tell me.
33:45What am I supposed to do?
33:48So Peter was unknowingly acting.
33:53That's why I'm not a Christian.
33:56Mark 8.
33:59Remember, Peter said the things that are exactly contrary to what God had planned.
34:10Satan is not in communication with God.
34:14He is in communication with men that are not in communication with God.
34:20Men can listen to God if they have peace with God after they believe.
34:27Because what's keeping us away from Him?
34:30Our sins.
34:31But if the sin issue is gone, then now we have peace with God.
34:36Now that which was far is now near.
34:39We can hear God.
34:40Satan cannot.
34:41This is why Jesus said in John 14, I will no longer talk much with you for the ruler of this world is coming and he has nothing in me.
34:51Nothing.
34:52Number four, if Jesus didn't resurrect from the dead, we are still dead in our sins.
35:00That's why Satan doesn't want Jesus to be resurrected.
35:03This is why Satan told Peter to rebuke Jesus for even mentioning that.
35:09You see, a lot of people are telling me, my sins were forgiven because Jesus died for my sins.
35:16That's true.
35:18But the Bible says, if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that what?
35:26God, what?
35:29God raised Him from the dead.
35:32That's when you are saved.
35:35It's not enough to believe that He died.
35:38In fact, Buddha died.
35:40Muhammad died.
35:41They all died.
35:43One time I took a taxi in Seattle and I talked to the guy that was driving me.
35:50And, you know, we talked about Jesus and I said, Jesus was a great teacher.
35:57Well, Buddha was also.
35:58And I said, okay, well, Jesus died for me.
36:01Well, Buddha also.
36:02I said, Jesus resurrected.
36:03That is fixed dollars, please.
36:05Folks, no one can argue with that.
36:14First Corinthians 15.
36:16You understand, by the way, if you...
36:20Listen.
36:22If you only believe that He died and you don't believe that He resurrected, then your sins have not been forgiven.
36:32You need to understand that.
36:34You're religious.
36:37Your sins are not...
36:39Look what He...
36:40I'm not saying that.
36:41The Bible says that.
36:42For if the dead do not rise, then Christ is not risen.
36:46And if Christ is not risen, your faith is futile.
36:49You're still...
36:50By the way, the word dead is missing here.
36:52I don't know why.
36:53I'm sorry.
36:54You're dead in your sins.
36:56Then also those who have fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
37:01Not fallen asleep, they've perished.
37:03If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men the most pitiful.
37:11If you live your life just...
37:13If you believe in Jesus just because in this life it makes sense.
37:17I want to be a good person, go to church every Sunday.
37:21If you don't understand that your faith in Christ now, it's giving you eternal life.
37:27Now our life is so...
37:32I walked a month ago into the hotel room of my father-in-law when he joined me to do ministry in Sicily, Italy.
37:43I found him dead.
37:46He didn't show up for breakfast.
37:50I suspected something is wrong.
37:52I ran, I opened the door, walked into his room.
37:55He was there in bed.
37:57Not there.
37:58His soul went to be with Jesus.
38:00His body was still here.
38:03And he's buried here, but he's not there yet.
38:06I mean his soul is with Jesus.
38:09You don't know when it's going to happen.
38:11Our life here is just...
38:14Look at you.
38:20You've passed your peak.
38:24We're spiraling down quickly right now.
38:28There are very few of us here in that section are still on their way to reach their peak.
38:34The rest of us are dying.
38:38And if you think that believing in Jesus is only for this life, kiss that thought goodbye.
38:45If that's what you are, then you better not call yourself Christians at all.
38:50Number five, without the resurrection, Jesus would not have sent the Holy Spirit our helper and down payment for our salvation.
38:59You understand?
39:00Jesus said, I will pray the father and he will give you another helper that he may abide with you forever.
39:09The spirit of truth whom the world cannot receive.
39:13If someone is not born again, he cannot receive the Holy Spirit.
39:21People send me videos of rabbis who said this and said that.
39:27You have to listen to this rabbi.
39:29He had a revelation.
39:30No!
39:31I will not listen to anyone who does not have the Holy Spirit in him.
39:37Period.
39:39And a person who does not believe in Jesus as his Lord and Savior.
39:44And a person that does not confess that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that God raised him from the dead.
39:50He is not a believer.
39:52He is not saved.
39:53Thus the Holy Spirit is not in him.
39:57Because the world cannot receive it.
39:59Because it neither sees him nor knows him.
40:04But you, you know him.
40:08For he dwells with you and will be in you.
40:13I will not leave you as orphans he said.
40:15Ephesians says, in him you also trusted.
40:18After you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.
40:23In whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise.
40:29Sealed.
40:31No person in the Old Testament was sealed.
40:35In the Old Testament, the Holy Spirit will come upon you and it could leave you.
40:40It left Saul.
40:42David, in fact, when he found out that somebody found out.
40:47And in Psalm 51, he says, please do not take your Holy Spirit from me.
40:55That's not a prayer of a believer in Jesus.
40:58You understand?
41:00The Bible says about the Holy Spirit that it is our down payment.
41:09You understand?
41:11The Bible says, who is the guarantee of our inheritance?
41:18The Holy Spirit in you is Arabon in Greek.
41:21Arabon in Hebrew.
41:22Guarantee.
41:23It's a down payment.
41:24That's it.
41:25It's done.
41:26You're saved.
41:27You're saved.
41:28And now, it's not you who lives.
41:31It's Christ who lives in you.
41:32And not only that, the price has been fully paid.
41:36But you're still in a body that is a tent, not a building.
41:41And so, you're waiting for the redemption of the purchased possession to the praise of his glory.
41:51Number six, the resurrection of Jesus assures you and me of our resurrection.
41:56Why?
41:57And this is why Satan didn't want Jesus to die.
42:02So he won't resurrect.
42:03So he won't make us able to resurrect as well.
42:09Because the Bible says, first of all, we identify with his life, suffering and death and resurrection.
42:15In Romans says, for whom he foreknew, he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his son,
42:22that he might be the firstborn among many brethren.
42:26That's the life.
42:28Then in the death in Galatians 2, I have been crucified with Christ.
42:32It is no longer I who live.
42:34Now we identify with his death.
42:36And then in 1 Corinthians 15, 20 to 26,
42:40For since by men came death, by men also came the resurrection of the dead.
42:45For as in Adam all die, so in Christ all shall be made alive.
42:50But each one in his own order.
42:56Christ, the first fruits.
42:59Afterward, those who are Christ's at his coming.
43:05Christ had to be resurrected.
43:08He's first and right after.
43:11The second in line to be part of the first resurrection is those who belong to him.
43:18When? When he comes back to the cloud to receive us.
43:24So without his death and resurrection, we could not be raptured.
43:30That's what Satan hates.
43:34The blessed hope that we will have shortly, a way out of here.
43:40The atoning death of Jesus will not come into effect without the resurrection.
43:46You understand that?
43:48It's important.
43:49The resurrection is the key to the concept of the death.
43:53The goat or lamb never ever resurrected.
43:58The resurrection took away our sins forever.
44:01An animal did not.
44:03This is why in Hebrews chapter 10 it says,
44:09It is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats could take away sins.
44:17Let's move to number 7.
44:19We need to understand who Jesus is and our destiny in him.
44:23That's what Satan doesn't want you.
44:25That's why get behind me Satan.
44:27Jesus could see through all of that.
44:29I brethren, when I came to you, I did not come with excellence of speech or wisdom,
44:35declaring to you the testimony of God.
44:38For I determined, Paul, determined not to know anything among you except what?
44:46Christ?
44:48Riding on a horse?
44:50Raining from Jerusalem?
44:51No!
44:53Paul, who held those opinions in the past, understand now,
44:59No!
45:00No!
45:01I'm not going to be giving you any false idea, false hopes, false perception.
45:11Christ and him crucified.
45:14He had to die.
45:16And if you have a problem with him dead and then resurrected,
45:21you do not understand anything about God's plan.
45:26For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received,
45:31that Christ died for our sins.
45:33What?
45:34According to the scripture.
45:36Which scripture, by the way?
45:37Old Testament.
45:39There was...
45:40Paul never quoted the New Testament.
45:42I told you that.
45:43According to scripture.
45:45And that he was buried and then that he rose again the third day.
45:49What?
45:50According to the scriptures.
45:54This is the biblical perception of the Messiah.
45:59That's what we need to hold on to.
46:03We're responsible to know who Jesus is because of what the word of God says about him.
46:10Not what men, books, world, theologians...
46:14You know, the Muslims believe he is a prophet.
46:17The Jews think he was a nice guy that went wrong.
46:20So many people think he's a good teacher.
46:23Other things...
46:24I think they all have something good to say about him.
46:27But they don't agree with us.
46:32That he is the son of the living God who came to die, be buried and resurrect.
46:41The most essential thing that the whole Bible was writing on.
46:45They don't agree with it.
46:49Number 8.
46:50The resurrection declares our victory over death.
46:54Oh death, where is your sting?
46:56Oh Hades, where is your victory?
46:58The sting of death is sin.
47:00And the strength of sin is the law.
47:02But thanks be to God who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
47:06Therefore, my beloved brethren, you see, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord.
47:14Knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.
47:17Hardships will come upon Canada.
47:20COVID is a joke, compares to what is going to happen to this world.
47:26Look, why are you looking at me like that?
47:29I'm not making it up.
47:31Jesus is the one who said,
47:33Instead, in this world you will have what?
47:37Great Prime Minister?
47:39No.
47:40Great government?
47:42No.
47:43Godly Parliament?
47:45No.
47:46You'll have tribulations.
47:48But be of good cheer.
47:51I have overcome the world.
47:52Number 9.
47:53The resurrection initiates our departure from this world to our heavenly home.
47:57Romans 8 is talking about that very much so.
48:01But first Peter says, you are chosen generation, royal priesthood, holy nation is only special.
48:07See, that's what the...
48:08Satan doesn't want you to know that.
48:10He doesn't want you to understand who you are in Christ, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous life.
48:17Philippians says, for our citizenship is in heaven, from which also we eagerly wait for the Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ to come.
48:26He will transform our what?
48:30See?
48:32See?
48:33Your body is lowly.
48:38Look, I hardly can stand up.
48:41And I'm only, I'm not even 50.
48:44Our body is lowly.
48:48That it might be conformed into his glorious body, according to the working by which he is able even to subdue all things to himself.
48:56These are the things of God.
48:58And the things of God are directly connected to the perfect will of God in order to accomplish that will.
49:05Jesus had to choose to put Satan behind himself.
49:09Isaiah 50, for the Lord God will help me, therefore I will not be disgraced.
49:14John 10, therefore my Father loves me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again.
49:20No one takes it from me.
49:22I lay down of myself, and I have the power to lay down, and I have the power to take it again.
49:30This command I have received from my Father.
49:33Jesus did not run the other way when they came to catch him.
49:37Look what the Bible says in John 18.
49:39Jesus, therefore, knowing all things that would come upon him, said,
49:43He went forward and said to them,
49:46Whom are you seeking?
49:47And they answered him, those guards who came, Jesus of Nazareth.
49:51And he said to them, I am he.
49:53Why?
49:54Because that's what he came for.
49:56He's not running away.
49:58He was committed to the will of the Father.
50:02I have come down from heaven, not to do my own will, but the will of him who sent me.
50:08Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him, endured the cross, the shame, and sat down after he was resurrected at the right hand of the throne of God.
50:26Part of the package of being a believer is understanding that we live in an evil world.
50:32We were not promised a garden of roses.
50:35And we can also say, get behind me Satan, when we see Satan attempting to put us down.
50:41If anyone desires to come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily.
50:48Philippians says, not I that I speak in regards to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am to be content.
50:56We will have different state in our life, but we need to stay content at all times.
51:03Life in this fallen world will never be perfect for the believer.
51:07When Satan seeks to remind us of how short you fall, you need to fall back on the promises of God.
51:16And I'll conclude with this.
51:18Look at the two words that are now on the screen.
51:21We know.
51:23I want you to say, we know.
51:25Let's say, we know.
51:27Romans 8.28
51:29And we know that all things work together for good for those who love God and those who are called according to his purpose.
51:382 Corinthians 5.
51:40For we know that if our earthly house, this tent is destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made by hands, eternal in the heavens.
51:53For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed with our habitation which is from heaven.
52:00If indeed having been clothed, we shall not be found naked.
52:04For we who are in this tent groan, being burdened, not because we want to be unclothed, but further clothed, that mortality may be swallowed up by life.
52:16Now, he who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a Rabon guarantee.
52:28And while we wait, 2 Corinthians tell us that we are the ambassadors of Christ, reconciling the world to himself.
52:39And I will conclude with Romans 8.23-25.
52:43Not only that, but we also, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves, groan within ourselves, eagerly waiting for the adoption.
52:57The redemption of what?
52:59I told you.
53:01Look, you're already redeemed.
53:03We have a new heart, new spirit.
53:07We're a new creation.
53:08We're one new man.
53:09We're stuck in this body.
53:11And we're waiting for the redemption of our body.
53:15For we are saved in this hope.
53:19For hope.
53:20But hope is that his sin is not hope.
53:24For why does one still hope for what he sees?
53:27But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.
53:34Father, we thank you for your word.
53:37Thank you for your promises.
53:39We know that Satan wants to put us down and not understand who we are in Christ, who Christ is.
