Porthmadog boss Chris Jones with his reaction to his side's 1-1 draw against NFA
Transcript
00:00Was that a frustrating afternoon? Playing against 10 men for an hour and then only getting a goal in the last 10 minutes to secure a point?
00:07Yeah, frustrating. Obviously, I'm really, really disappointed with the performance.
00:12It's not something we've been able to say very often this season, but we just didn't start the game well at all.
00:17I thought we were really, really poor first half.
00:19And when you play a team like NFA, you've only lost two this season.
00:22They've took points off good teams already. You know what type of day it's going to be.
00:26And obviously, when they went down to 10 men, they just took in and made sure they got a result.
00:30But when it was 11 v 11, they've missed a penalty. They were 1-0 up.
00:33They could have won the game today. So the only positive is at least we got a point out to the game in the end.
00:38That's the point. That keeps it on top.
00:42Many chances in front of goal, but not hitting the target compared to last week at Conor's Key.
00:47Yeah, it's difficult because obviously the NFA's game plan was very different to Conor's Key.
00:52The NFA had a lot of bodies in the area just throwing themselves in front of things.
00:55There was a couple of times the ball broken, we kind of snatched at it.
00:58And we've had a goal disallowed, which I don't really understand from what I've seen, but I'll watch it back.
01:02And obviously, Kai's got an equaliser for us.
01:04But it was just one of them days. Last week, you can score seven and everything goes in for you.
01:08Today, we've just scored one and missed a load of chances second half.
01:11But I do think, being honest, it would have been unfair on NFA if we'd have won the game today.
01:15Because they were way far the better team first half when it was 11 v 11.
01:18And obviously, like I said, they missed the penalty and we just weren't good enough first half.
01:22So, second half, we've done what we've done. At least we've got a point out of it.
01:25We've got a point, but no points next time we play Port Albert in the Welsh Cup.
01:30What's your opinion on that game?
01:31Well, yeah, obviously, a couple of week break now, which we've had a couple of times this season.
01:34And it's benefited us at different times when we've had the break.
01:37So, we'll make the most use of that and try and get some players back.
01:40But, yeah, looking forward to the tie, obviously, a team that I don't, you know, Port Magic haven't played very often, if at all.
01:45So, something to look forward to.
01:47And a nice feature at the end of the game, Josh Banks coming back and having a game time with Port as well.
01:52Yeah, obviously, it's been a long time coming for him.
01:54He's been training for over a month now to tie, getting his fitness back up and obviously joining him warm-ups and stuff.
02:00But I thought he'd done really well when he came on as well. It looked like he'd been away.
02:03He wasn't far off scoring to win the game as well.
02:06That would have been great, obviously.
02:07That's a point, so we move on.
02:09Thank you, Chris.
02:10Thank you, Chris.
