Meerut, Uttar Pradesh — A shocking case has surfaced from the Rohta police station area, where a woman, in collusion with her lover, brutally murdered her husband and tried to pass it off as an accident.
According to Superintendent of Police (Rural) Abhijeet Kumar, the deceased has been identified as Anil. Initially, his death was reported as a drowning, but a detailed police probe revealed it was a planned murder.
Police grew suspicious of Anil’s wife, Kajal, during questioning. She later confessed that she had been married for eight years and had three children, but had rekindled her relationship with her former lover, Akash, two years ago. The two, along with Akash’s friend Badal, hatched a plan to eliminate Anil.
As per the plan, Kajal drugged her husband, strangled him with a scarf, and, with the help of her lover and his friend, threw the unconscious man into a canal, making it appear like an accidental drowning.
Police have arrested Kajal, Akash, and Badal, and booked them under sections of murder and criminal conspiracy. Further interrogation is underway to uncover all details of the case.
SP Abhijeet Kumar also noted that in the past eight months, four similar husband-murder cases linked to extramarital affairs have been reported in the district.
