00:32boat trip to paradise but first up everybody loves kung fu fighting in Hong Kong as a shopping
00:51and foodie destination Hong Kong ticks all of the boxes but for movie buffs like myself it holds a
00:56special place in our hearts for some very famous exports and none more so than the very legendary
01:01Bruce Lee this Hong Kong hero left behind an unrivalled legacy in the world of martial arts
01:10and action movies and this city it's bound to bring out you in a kung fu superstar
01:14as well as the statue honoring Bruce Lee significance among Hong Kong heroes there's
01:25an entire exhibit devoted to him at the Hong Kong Heritage Museum Bruce Lee's legend status extends
01:33right around the world and this exhibit looks at him not just as the movie star and martial
01:38artist but it's the cultural icon that he is titled a man beyond the ordinary the exhibit showcases
01:47memorabilia from throughout Bruce Lee's life Bruce Lee is a name that's known around the whole world would
01:54you say that he's a bit of a hero here in Hong Kong yes he definitely is a hero both in the Hong Kong and
02:01also in the martial art of the world because he developed his kung fu philosophy in Hong Kong
02:09Hong Kong as a point of the East East West and also a place showing the cultural diversity
02:16part of the tour includes meeting a master to really appreciate the inner workings of this ancient pastime
02:28and I am pretty keen to get amongst it
02:33Wing Chun we meet you use middle punch I'm a punk punk punk punk punk like that so you punch in the
02:43short distance right and we punch in the middle line we don't use hope
02:48Wing Chun is a form of kung fu which had Bruce Lee as one of its most famous
02:58students Wing Chun is a very interesting kung fu compared to the other style it's exactly different
03:06thing you know usually the other style like this big movement ah ah Wing Chun very quiet it's just like
03:14this especially when you've used it in the elevator and the staircase it work well well because we don't
03:21need much space to express our technique you took me down that must allow has been practicing and
03:32teaching this ancient art of fighting for most of his life I do have a student 81 but it's stronger than me
03:42Wow
03:49all right it's a draw it's a draw
03:54this is all right
03:56wow
04:00like so many people they extend my kung fu knowledge has been massively based around what I see on the big screen but
04:09learning about its history and its origins for someone like master lao has just been
04:13it's been the most incredible experience
04:30after spending the morning working up a sweat I'm checking into one of Hong Kong's finest hotels for an afternoon of
04:37relaxation and indulgence
04:41if first impressions are anything to go by this is a very impressive start from the moment you enter this hotel you
04:48just know you're in for something special
04:55the Grand Hyatt is as grand as the name suggests with 11 restaurants and bars a fully equipped spa and a super inviting pool area
05:04of the hotel's 500 plus indulgent guest suites many of them offer spectacular views over Hong Kong's famous Victoria Harbour
05:21coming up next catching up with the locals on the Capricorn Coast
05:23so you can come in here and get this close
05:26so you can come in here and get this close
05:28to these beautiful little monkeys
05:30where'd you go?
05:32now I don't know about you but any wildlife experience that you can get this close and live to tell the tale is pretty cool
05:45and up here at Coobery Park Wildlife Sanctuary it is all about guests having a hands-on experience
05:52so you can come in here and get this close to these beautiful little monkeys
05:58where'd you go?
06:00hello
06:01hello
06:06I'm just north of Yippoon on Queensland's Capricorn Coast
06:11and of course the area is famous for the stunning Southern Great Barrier Reef
06:16but it also has a wilder side
06:20Coobery Park Wildlife Sanctuary is home to more than 300 animals across its 10 hectares
06:27the next two birds that we have are the blue and gold macaws
06:30we have pilot and general
06:32Kieran and his family own the park
06:34which has been a favourite in the area for over 50 years
06:38I love what you've done here because a lot of it is free range
06:41it is exactly right
06:42so a lot of it is free range
06:43you're able to interact with all the different kangaroos
06:45emus, wallabies, all the chickens and ducks and peacocks
06:48and there's no cages
06:49they're able to go anywhere they want to go
06:50so the visitors are entering their domain
06:53the walk-through area here is fantastic
06:56but there's also over 10 animal encounters you can take part in
07:00from patting a python to cuddling a koala
07:03yeah that's better
07:05from the very cute to the terrifying
07:09right next door is the Capricorn Dinosaur Park and Mini Golf Yippoon
07:14which is definitely a challenge on a few fronts
07:17good luck girls not getting it through
07:27huge dinosaurs tower over the course
07:30taking the whole experience back a few million years
07:33I remember putt-putt as a kid where it's just some dodgy surface
07:38and a plastic cup ready to catch the ball
07:40but these guys have taken it to a whole different level
07:44and with this hole all you've got to do is hit it up the slope
07:47off the backboard round the corner there
07:49comes down through the chicane
07:50comes into the bottom section here and into the hole
07:53one of the major draw cards of this area is the Byfield National Park
08:02made up of over 15,000 hectares of native forest
08:06it's a favourite for four-wheel drivers
08:09plus walking tracks have been set up to give you really easy access
08:13to some of the most unique areas
08:23this here is one of the gems of this area
08:26it's called the Byfield Fern
08:28and it's not found anywhere else on earth
08:31that is just incredible
08:33she's like one of the superstars of the area
08:38for somewhere to stay just a stone's throw from the National Park
08:42is Castle Rock Farm
08:45John you must be the most relaxed man in Queensland on this property mate
08:49yeah it is it's a great place to live
08:51we've got 115 acres of just you know natural bushland
08:5730 minutes from the beach
08:59the people that we actually purchased off
09:01they were Norwegian
09:02and they planted all just this amazing array of fruit trees
09:05and flowering trees
09:07which we give to our guests
09:08so we let our guests basically walk around the farm
09:11pick what they want for breakfast
09:12grapefruit, oranges, avocados
09:14there's always something that they can pick and take home and eat
09:18you know while they're here
09:20your stay here is simple
09:21but I guess that's kind of the point
09:24this whole area of Byfield is about getting back to nature
09:32taking in the fresh air
09:34and just enjoying this beautiful part of Queensland
09:39the help of the bank
09:49with the National Park
09:50we mean whatever the park is big
09:52and we're talking about
09:53this close to the place
09:54that we're going to have a road
09:55and we're going to have a Fabric
09:56we're going to have a road
09:58to LA
09:59we're going to have a road
10:00this close to the sky
10:01we've got a road
10:02we're in this north
10:04we're going to have a road
10:05After the break, I check out one of Tasmania's most beautiful hidden gems.
10:17This is one of Tasmania's hidden gems, Binalong Bay, with its crystal clear waters, white
10:33sandy beaches and breathtaking scenery.
10:36It is no wonder this coastal town has become a popular destination for locals and tourists
10:42alike.
10:43But there's more to Binalong Bay than just its stunning scenery.
10:49This small town boasts a rich history, from its indigenous roots to its thriving fishing
10:55industry.
10:56And lucky for us, some super trendy accommodation too.
11:01Binalong Bay sits at the southern end of the Bay of Fires, on the east coast of Tassie.
11:11Just five minutes away is the Bay of Fires bush retreat, offering eco-glamping at its finest.
11:17Oh, and I'm instantly feeling relaxed here at the retreat.
11:21So that is exactly how we want people to feel when they get here.
11:24I guess the inspiration was really a combination of what we really enjoyed about our own travel
11:29experiences, being in nature, and camping, and to just blend that I guess with amazing
11:34food, wine, really luxurious elements to create this experience.
11:38What's your favourite place at the retreat?
11:41I'd have to say the Veggie Garden.
11:42Oh.
11:43Yeah.
11:44So we've got a beautiful garden, which has lots of local produce.
11:48And what a thriving Veggie Garden it is, humming with native bumblebees and lined with rows of
11:55vegetables and herbs like kale and rosemary.
11:58This is a huge Veggie Patch for yourself.
12:01Oh, it is, isn't it?
12:02So, Veggie Patch is not just for me, it's for the guests to use as well.
12:05Oh, so they can come in here any time?
12:07Yeah, so if they want to have a gin at night time, they can come and grab a cucumber and
12:11some fresh mint.
12:12Oh, that smells so good.
12:13Yeah, come and smell this sage.
12:15This is amazing.
12:16Oh, that's beautiful.
12:20This is a really great experience as part of the retreat, because you can get your hands
12:23dirty if you don't have a Veggie Patch at home.
12:25Oh, they can come and do some weeding as well.
12:27Oh yeah, I'm sure you'd love that.
12:28Can we go cook this up now?
12:29We sure can.
12:30All guests have access to the amenities block, where you'll find a fully equipped gourmet kitchen
12:38ready to cook up a feast.
12:42Don't even worry about bringing your snacks to the retreat.
12:45Tom and Anna have set up an honesty system here in the bar and kitchen, so you can grab
12:49some of Tassie's finest local produce, beer, wine, olives, anything you can think of,
12:55and just pay for it in the morning.
12:56I love that.
12:57But I'm lucky that I've got Tom here to serve me up something fresh from the garden.
13:02Today I'm going to give you one of my favourites, Coal River Brie.
13:06Oh, this looks good.
13:07It is a fantastic cheese, especially once it warms up to room temperature.
13:12Great.
13:13It's on point.
13:14Oh, nice.
13:15And this pesto's straight from the garden?
13:16Yes, that's the garden pesto from all the kale and spinach that you saw up there in Rocket.
13:21And I'm going to pour you one of my favourite beers today from a brewery in Launceston.
13:25Oh, well cheers to that.
13:27Thank you so much for this.
13:28Yeah, I hope you enjoy.
13:30Oh, that's crisp.
13:32Love it.
13:33It'll go really nicely with that cheese.
13:36Along with the huge selection of local produce and drinks, Anna and Tom also have homemade pre-prepared meals for guests if that's more your style.
13:47And when you're ready to turn in for the night, you're in for a real treat.
13:51There are ten luxurious bell tents, each grand in size and comfort.
13:59Inside you'll find a cosy reading nook for some R&R and your own hot water bottle for the colder months.
14:06The bathroom facilities are just as luxe as the tents.
14:12And I can guarantee it's the best night's sleep you'll have for a long time.
14:17This retreat is perfect for those that want to escape the hustle and bustle and immerse themselves in nature.
14:25But a little bit fancy.
14:34Coming up, Vanuatu's Love Island.
14:37Well, I can feel the love in here.
14:39This is so beautiful.
14:40Yeah.
14:41This is so beautiful.
14:43I love you, baby.
14:44I love you, baby.
14:46And if it's quite alright, I need to, baby.
14:51So on these lonely nights, I love you, baby.
14:56Don't you love it when you take a holiday to an island that's known as a romantic getaway, but you're on your own?
15:04So you and I, we're going to have to enjoy Erecore Island together.
15:07Erecore is famous in Vanuatu for being the island of love.
15:11And even though it is a private island, you are still only a few minutes from the heart of town and a five-minute boat trip to paradise.
15:20Erecore is a small private island, just a coconut's throw from Vanuatu's main island of Afate,
15:28with really easy access to the town of Port Villa and to the airport.
15:34Hello, hello, hello.
15:36Hello.
15:38Oh.
15:39Perfect.
15:40I have arrived.
15:43Now, once you arrive, everything is just a few little steps away from your water sports,
15:49to white sandy beaches, the bungalows and the all-important cocktail bar,
15:55something that certainly wouldn't have been around in the 1800s when missionaries started arriving in Vanuatu
16:02and Erecore was one of their first stops.
16:05Is this here the missionaries' church?
16:08Was this the first church built in Vanuatu?
16:11Yes.
16:12A true open-air church now?
16:14Yeah, it used to be a building, but now it's an outdoor church.
16:18It looks beautiful.
16:19Do they still use the church today?
16:21Yes.
16:22We're not using it for church service, but we're using it for weddings.
16:26Do you think I could ring the bell?
16:27Sure.
16:28Got to ring the bell?
16:29Sure.
16:30Sorry.
16:31Sorry.
16:32Sorry.
16:33Sorry to the sound guy.
16:37I've been seeing lonely people in crowded rooms.
16:43Do you think the people who visit here love the fact that there is still a strong culture
16:48and that you can learn about it?
16:50It's not just an island paradise.
16:52Yeah, I think even though we're close to the city, but once you're on the boat and you're
16:56on the island, it's your island time.
16:58You're more relaxed and happy.
17:00It's a slower way of life, isn't it?
17:02Way of life, yeah.
17:03The city's gonna break my heart.
17:05The city's gonna love me.
17:07I just wanted to quickly show you what one of the rooms here was like, because I know
17:12when most of us dream about an island escape, that dream includes a white sandy beach.
17:18And this room includes a step straight out onto it.
17:22The city's gonna break my heart.
17:25She's always gonna break my heart.
17:27I know that Errico is famous for being an island of love, but it's also really popular
17:32for families.
17:33And I don't know about you, but when I take my children on holidays, my favourite word?
17:38Activity.
17:39I love activities.
17:40Hello, Kevin 007.
17:43Hey, what's up?
17:44Hey, what's up?
17:45How are you doing?
17:46Very well.
17:47Okay, so what are you making here?
17:48At the moment, we're making a cross cut for the Melanition fish tonight.
17:52Okay, so how do you do this?
17:54What are you doing?
17:55Oh, right.
17:56Yes.
17:57You grab this.
17:58Yes.
17:59You put this together and do that.
18:02Yep.
18:03You would do it like that.
18:07Oh, what a fantastic chip.
18:11You did good.
18:12Okay, so now we cut that and I just wrap it around myself, do I?
18:15Yes.
18:16Okay.
18:17We're just gonna cut this and you can put it on your waist.
18:20You wait.
18:21You wait till you see this tonight.
18:23Alrighty, loved-off couples.
18:25You can indulge in what they call the Chef's Selection Romance Dinner here.
18:31Three courses with a bottle of vino or bubbly, all set in this dreamy location.
18:40For a less intimate but equally memorable dining experience, the resort holds a Melanesian
18:46feast once a week.
18:47You have got to be there.
18:50How much do you love an island feast?
18:52I have been looking forward to this.
18:54All of it.
18:55Fresh.
18:56All of it.
18:57Local.
18:58All of it.
18:59Delicious.
19:00By the way, recognize the skirt.
19:01Told you I'd wear it in the end.
19:03Any local feast calls for kava.
19:06And once the chief gives the nod, it is open for the guests to enjoy.
19:11For Endure.
19:12Woohoo!
19:13Hold on.
19:14What do you think?
19:15What do you think?
19:16Um, interesting.
19:18And it goes like this.
19:23Many of the islands offer Melanesian feast nights.
19:26But I tell you what.
19:27Aerocores really is something special.
19:36Thanks for traveling with us again this week.
19:38Next week, Tokyo's immersive art museum, Team Lab Planets.
19:43It's so interactive.
19:44You can touch it.
19:45Everything.
19:46Plus, the largest safari experience outside of Africa.
19:50Getting up close to lions, giraffe, cheetahs and even rhinos is something that you will
19:55never forget.
19:56See you then.
19:57Good night.
