00:00Max Verstappen and Gabriel Bortoletto finally sat down together on a YouTube podcast series
00:08Pellas Pistas podcast, and it gave us some absolute gold moments. From deep talks about
00:15friendship to hilarious indie jokes, here are the top five wholesome moments you need to see.
00:23Gabby's words about Max were pure respect. He said Max has always been the same person.
00:28Before F1, after F1. Always supportive, humble, and brutally honest. He's a beast on track,
00:37but off track, he's just Max.
00:40No, I think what I always found very nice from him, you know, is even before when I met him,
00:45when we were studying the histories in Adria or any time I met him, he was exactly the same guy.
00:52So, you know, I don't want to get into any big polemic here, but 90% of the F1 drivers,
00:59they're not like this, you know, I don't know, they feel like they're in F1 and things are different,
01:05or they treat you in a way if you are in F1, but when you are not in F1, they don't treat you well,
01:11or they don't give you attention. And I feel like Max has never been like this. He always gave me a lot
01:16of support even before F1. And not only for me, but you see the other guys that we drive in the sim
01:22and he's never different, you know. And we always joke about it because I think if someone stops Max
01:28in the street and he keeps talking to the person for two hours, even if he doesn't know the person,
01:33until you take him out, you know, because it's like this. And I think this is very nice because
01:37this is outside of the track. And when he's on track, it's just, you know, a beast. He goes in and dive
01:44bomb and makes the move. And I think this is nice. You know, you separate very well who you are outside
01:50and inside the track and people respect you from who you are. And in the media, he doesn't try to be
01:57different and nice to the camera or bad. He's just himself as well. And I think this is the most
02:02important thing that I try to be as well, because again, that's a thing I admire in people
02:07that I live with. And I try to be like this. Then came Gabi's burning question. What really
02:14happened at Zandvoort during practice? Tires are quite cold, right? Yeah. This is the first race
02:19after the break? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I normally always put the break by his back. But I was like,
02:25oh, I'm doing the start. The first corner is banged. I don't need to put it back. It's going to be
02:30fine. I'm going to break a bit early. Yeah. Then I hit the brakes. I immediately lock and then you
02:34cannot get out of the lock. And then I remember asking. I went to travel and like just jumping.
02:39I'm like, oh my God. Yeah. I remember asking what happened. I was like, oh, you should ask him
02:43after. Yeah. What the fuck did you lock up after the finish bang? Yeah. Yeah. That was a new floor
02:49as well. It's like fantastic. Oh, amazing. At one point, Gabi said he'd love to race IndyCar. And Max,
02:56he instantly replied he'd rather chill on the pit wall with a gin and tonic as his spotter.
03:02The delivery is pure Verstappen comedy. No, I'll come and sit in the pit wall. And I'll be your
03:10spotter. All clear. All clear. All right. All clear. Oh, sorry. There was someone. You can come
03:17to the TV booth with us for 500. Yeah. No, I'll just sit there. I'll be gin tonic. I'll be all clear.
03:23Oh, no. No, it's not clear. Gabi, are you okay? Gabi shared that the second time he met Max was before
03:29his Freca race in Monaco. And he literally just yelled at him for a picture. I remember,
03:35I mean, all the kids, they were lining up in the in the championship to go to qualifying. You could
03:39see a lot of the kids are super nervous, like already with the helmet. This guy comes running over
03:44crossing the pit wall. Max, Max, Max, let's take a picture. He had to go into court. It was like five
03:50minutes, you know, it was a race. And I asked you for advice and you gave just, I was like, Max,
03:56Max, I mean, I'm starting, you know, front row there. What should I do? And then you were like,
04:02flat out. But the most heartwarming moment, Max admitting he told his team to keep an eye on Gabi
04:10even before he got to F1. That's a rare compliment from Max. And you can feel the mutual respect.
04:18At the end of the day, like you always have like a healthy kind of competition and you always will want
04:22to beat each other. Right. But at the end of the day, the personality of the person, whatever you do
04:28off track will decide, you know, if you can be good friends. And yeah, that I think we have seen
04:37already in the past between other teammates have, well, it's not been great. You know what I mean with
04:41that? Like they could not be friends anymore or, you know, they had some issues. But yeah, I mean,
04:47I already said to the team before I even got to F1 and keep an eye on Gabi. But yeah, now, now we're
04:56all here and let's just see how it evolves. Right. I mean, first of all, I don't even know how long
05:01I'm going to do myself. You know, I mean, I know that I have a contract until 28, but after that,
05:06nothing is, is agreed or what I, I don't even know myself. So I hope, let's say in general,
05:13I just hope for Gabi that, of course, he gets an opportunity within the next three,
05:17four years, of course, to really, you know, be competitive in the front and fight for podiums.
05:23And then if that's in the same team, I mean, even better because, you know, that means that
05:27we are both fighting for, for the best position. Okay.
