In a celebration of music and community, choirs from across Queensland’s southeast have come together to form one big ensemble.

280 voices from the Fraser Coast, the Darling Downs, the Redlands and Brisbane, harmonising

They've been practising with their local group since July.

This is the first time they've come together as the greatest show choir.

I call them Musical Villagers.

Being guided by multi-award winning conductor Jonathan Welsh.

Probably about 98% of them have not performed on the stage of Queensland Performing Arts Centre.

So it's very, very special.

With Sunday's show already sold out.

I'm really nervous. I get really, really nervous.

But I think it's kind of like a safety in numbers thing.

She'll be taken to the stage with her 16-year-old daughter.

So it's been really good for her, but it's a beautiful bonding experience for us as well.

For this newly formed ensemble, it's about more than just the melodies.
