00:04:23come in come in christian seriano's atelier it's beautiful and it's very inspiring
00:04:28He started from Project Runway
00:04:30and achieved all the success in the world.

00:04:35and that you'll be there one day.
00:04:38This is it. You made it.
00:04:40Doesn't it feel good?
00:04:41Yeah.
00:04:42Today, you start to work on your collections
00:04:46that you've been working for this entire competition.
00:04:49This is such an amazing opportunity.
00:04:51You get to make whatever you want to make,
00:04:53be who you want to be.
00:04:54Shock, not only the judges, but the whole world is watching.
00:04:58So it's one of those great moments, you know?
00:05:00Yeah.
00:05:01I think you really have to take the judges on a journey.
00:05:04Yeah.
00:05:05And I think that they'll really appreciate that, you know?
00:05:07Yeah.
00:05:08I know.
00:05:09I have a good surprise for you.

00:05:14Eight looks in eight days is wild.
00:05:16Yeah.
00:05:17We're going to bring back some of your eliminated friends.
00:05:19Whoa.
00:05:21Prajay.
00:05:22Okay.
00:05:23Kara-san.
00:05:24And Fabio.
00:05:25Oh!
00:05:26Fish me.
00:05:27You won the last challenge.
00:05:28You get the advantage of picking first.
00:05:30Of course.
00:05:31I'm going to pick my good, good girlfriend, Prajay.
00:05:33I don't think we're going to fight anyways.
00:05:35I don't think we're going to fight.
00:05:36Fabio.
00:05:37That's what I thought.
00:05:38No-brainer.
00:05:39Kara-san.
00:05:40Kara-san.
00:05:41And we're also going to give you $10,000,
00:05:43and you guys can go anywhere in the fashion district
00:05:45that you want.
00:05:46Yeah, baby!
00:05:47Because the clothes got to be good.
00:05:48Yeah.
00:05:49Listen.
00:05:50Yes.
00:05:51It is big stakes.
00:05:52All stars.
00:05:53You have to impress these judges.
00:05:55Yeah, yeah.
00:05:56This is it.
00:05:57Yes.
00:05:58All right.
00:05:59Bye, Christian.
00:06:11This is the very first type of, like, freedom to shop
00:06:14that works all around the garment district.
00:06:16We have three and a half hours to shop.
00:06:18Elaine really wants me to, like, lean into who I am.
00:06:21So my strategy is to create a collection
00:06:24that embraces this active wear path,
00:06:28but also progressing into active wear as, like, evening wear.
00:06:32And use color.
00:06:34Tell a story of things that just get more and more intense.
00:06:38Anything else or anything?
00:06:39No, that's it.
00:06:40On to the next.
00:06:41I'm one of the most commercial designers in this competition.
00:06:45Oh, yes!
00:06:47To do active wear as high fashion is really risky.
00:06:52But it doesn't mean that I can't give a very inspiring,
00:06:56just absolute killer runway show.
00:06:58Hello.
00:06:59Hello.
00:07:00How are you?
00:07:01How are you?
00:07:02I'm good.
00:07:03My specialty is leather.
00:07:05This is actually nice.
00:07:07There's a couple like that.
00:07:08But I am going to do some things
00:07:11that people don't really expect of me,
00:07:13which is playing with colors.
00:07:15This color is nice.
00:07:16Greens, purples, red.
00:07:19And try different types of fabrics to do, like, a mix.
00:07:22So I have this color, that color.
00:07:25I have black.
00:07:26I always listen to Madame Nina.
00:07:28So I'm really playing with the masculine and feminine,
00:07:31the hard, the soft.
00:07:33Basically, my collection is a marriage of the two.
00:07:35Thank you so much.
00:07:37Yes, baby.
00:07:38That's what I'm looking for.
00:07:39All the good signs today.
00:07:40Fashion is literally my diary,
00:07:43my saving grace, my religion.
00:07:46I really, really love this.
00:07:48The vibe from my collection
00:07:50is inspired by my process of grieving.
00:07:54I want to showcase what I'm feeling
00:07:57and how I'm feeling.
00:07:58She's cute.
00:08:01I ain't balling on the budget this time.
00:08:03I know for sure I'm going to use white, cream,
00:08:07black, and different shades of red.
00:08:10Oh, this is dope.
00:08:11To be able to tell my story with my collection
00:08:14is my way of being able to honor my sister.
00:08:17Okay, guys.
00:08:18It's real.
00:08:19It's realer than real.
00:08:20Hold on.
00:08:21I got it.
00:08:22You are so sweet.
00:08:23Hello.
00:08:24Hello, room.
00:08:25I kind of like this set up right here.
00:08:27In order for me to calm my nerves and just making it feel at home,
00:08:32I put up my sister's obituary.
00:08:34Now she going to be here making the collection with you.
00:08:35My sister told me before she transcended that I got this.
00:08:36I dedicate this all to her.
00:08:37Let's get it, baby.
00:08:38Let's get it, baby.
00:08:39Let's get it, baby.
00:08:40Let's get it, baby.
00:08:41Let's get it.
00:08:42Let's get it, baby.
00:08:43Let's get it, baby.
00:08:45In order for me to calm my nerves and just making it feel at home,
00:08:50I put up my sister's obituary.
00:08:52She gonna be here making the collection with you.
00:08:54My sister told me before she transcended that I got this.
00:08:58I dedicate this all to her.
00:09:00Let's get it, baby.
00:09:11This is dope.
00:09:15Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:09:19Oh, .
00:09:24What the ?
00:09:25This is a coat?
00:09:26Yeah.
00:09:27This is beautiful.
00:09:28What you over here, cutting?
00:09:30Yeah, cutting number two.
00:09:31Cutting number? You're on number two?
00:09:32Yeah.
00:09:33Damn.
00:09:34The time frame that we have to produce this collection is insane.
00:09:40I'm gonna have some flowers here.
00:09:43And this was in your head?
00:09:44I'm just going as I go.
00:09:46Do I know what I'm making yet?
00:09:48No, I do not.
00:09:49Because I don't have any drawings.
00:09:51My collection, it's a little blurry in my mind.
00:09:54I can't believe this is finally done.
00:09:56Oh, my goodness.
00:09:58Oh, man.
00:09:59I'm tired.
00:10:00Y'all, it's been a day, but it's time for us to go.
00:10:05Let's go through the day.
00:10:06Day one down, baby.
00:10:07Coming up.
00:10:08Let the competition begin.
00:10:10Model casting.
00:10:12Woo!
00:10:12I only have three looks.
00:10:16God save me.
00:10:18I said my stress level wasn't that high, but now it is.
00:10:20Bones, you're gonna have to sew like you've never sewn before.
00:10:23Yeah, I know.
00:10:24Not this pink pant.
00:10:26Like, she looks like a little kid.
00:10:27Why are you so pouty?
00:10:29Um, I want to get finished sewing.
00:10:31This is overwhelming.
00:10:34I'm over it.
00:10:35I don't think I'm done.
00:10:43All right, what are we doing here?
00:10:45Hey, look.
00:10:45I'm wearing something I made.
00:10:46That's cute.
00:10:52Hi, everybody.
00:10:53Hey.
00:10:54What's up, Christian?
00:10:55Yay!
00:10:56All right, we have a big day today, guys.
00:10:58You'll be selecting your models for your show.
00:11:02That's huge.
00:11:03Wow.
00:11:04Absolutely.
00:11:05All right, I'm coming to take a peek
00:11:06before the models get here.
00:11:08Brittany.
00:11:09Hey, you.
00:11:10Look at all this.
00:11:10I know.
00:11:11Busy.
00:11:12Yes.
00:11:15It's girly and cool and fun and young.
00:11:18Maybe you need that one sophisticated thing.
00:11:21Yeah, I need it.
00:11:22I mean, imagine this could be like the most badass pants.
00:11:25Yeah.
00:11:26Don't even look to the left.
00:11:28They are going couture du jour over there.
00:11:32There is that balance of what's too simplistic.
00:11:35Yeah.
00:11:36I just have to do it in a way that's like, hey, here's
00:11:37what you love about me, but like in a show form.
00:11:39Yes.
00:11:40I have to remember that.
00:11:41Yeah.
00:11:42Okay, goodbye.
00:11:43Let's go to the right place.
00:11:44Let's go.
00:11:45Oh, Lord.
00:11:46We got a lot going on up in here.
00:11:49This me.
00:11:50Hey, there.
00:11:51Tell me everything.
00:11:52So right now I'm in like this, like, kill the old you,
00:11:54but rebirth of the new you.
00:11:56So I'm-
00:11:57Oh, like a Phoenix reborn.
00:11:59Reborn, yeah.
00:12:00I like it.
00:12:01So what I'm kind of like doing is doing like this white look
00:12:04that's like-
00:12:05Oh, that's here.
00:12:06That's kind of like not having experienced life.
00:12:09I want to ease them into the drama.
00:12:11Yes, this is the opening.
00:12:12This is the opening.
00:12:13This is how the progression goes in the collection.
00:12:16Yeah.
00:12:17And then in the red, it's kind of like has the cargo pants
00:12:19with the top, like the born of the phoenix.
00:12:22And then the last thing is just a...
00:12:25It's this couture moment.
00:12:27Yeah.
00:12:28Like all of this is depression and anxiety.
00:12:31And so I literally want her to walk and conquer that.
00:12:34I think that's kind of cool.
00:12:35Thanks, Christian.
00:12:36Bring it in.
00:12:37Bring it in.
00:12:39You smell good.
00:12:40Proud. Always.
00:12:44You're wrong.
00:12:45Yes.
00:12:46So what did you kind of come up with as like your inspiration?
00:12:49My inspiration is a night in Paris.
00:12:52Because what is the color palette?
00:12:54So I have gray, purple, red.
00:12:59I love that you're going to do this purple too.
00:13:01But I haven't figured that one yet.
00:13:03What about even making a very classic, beautiful suit?
00:13:08Yeah.
00:13:09Yeah.
00:13:10What's the opening look?
00:13:11What is that going to be?
00:13:12I don't know.
00:13:13You don't know yet.
00:13:14You're in a different space.
00:13:15It's like you're still planning what you want to make.
00:13:18Yeah.
00:13:19Get your little sketchbook out.
00:13:20I promise.
00:13:21It's all my pride in my head.
00:13:22I know.
00:13:23But it'll help if you have a better plan.
00:13:25All right.
00:13:26Well, good luck.
00:13:27Thanks.
00:13:28It's a roller coaster here.
00:13:35My brain is like fried legs to the necks.
00:13:39All right.
00:13:40Models are here.
00:13:41I can't wait to do this.
00:13:43Model casting.
00:13:44Model casting.
00:13:45What are you looking for, Brittany?
00:13:47I want something that like really just gives off bad girl energy.
00:13:50What do you think, bitch?
00:13:51Just want a bad ass walk.
00:13:53Laurence.
00:13:54Diversity.
00:13:55And body.
00:13:56Don't be fighting over girls.
00:13:58Let the competition begin.
00:14:00We don't need a card from you.
00:14:11We need a card.
00:14:12Woo!
00:14:13I need a picture with you.
00:14:14Guys.
00:14:15Doesn't literally do anything.
00:14:17Bye, Mimi.
00:14:19Mimi.
00:14:20Do you want her?
00:14:21A bag.
00:14:22All right.
00:14:23I'm going to pick.
00:14:24So you can mix that and you pick.
00:14:26We're going to wait till the end.
00:14:28Hi, love bug.
00:14:31I'm manifesting it.
00:14:33Hey, boo.
00:14:34He's not here.
00:14:35He's not here.
00:14:36Don't look at him.
00:14:37Don't look at him.
00:14:38Hello.
00:14:39Oh, no.
00:14:40There's not even a question.
00:14:41Ugh.
00:14:42Put your hat down.
00:14:43You and I don't fight.
00:14:44I'm sending you.
00:14:45I hope you got the boxing gloves.
00:14:47Oh, there she is!
00:14:50Oh, I love you!
00:14:52We're so professional here at this model casting.
00:14:55She even wore her smallest top.
00:14:57Yes.
00:14:58This is in Christian's hand.
00:14:59Yeah, Christian.
00:15:00Okay, great.
00:15:01Great.
00:15:02Jessica, are you looking at my show?
00:15:03No, she's not.
00:15:04They're closing it.
00:15:05She's not.
00:15:06You guys have to pick.
00:15:07Let's do a...
00:15:08Whoever you need me to...
00:15:09Those two.
00:15:10I will help.
00:15:11Actually, no, no, no.
00:15:12Wait, wait, wait, wait. Chill out.
00:15:13Back up, back up.
00:15:14Christian, you're going to have to do all of this.
00:15:16I just need Jessica and Shanae.
00:15:18So whoever's name I draw gets to pick who they want.
00:15:20Oh, my nipples are sweating.
00:15:22Brittany.
00:15:23Oh.
00:15:24Mimi.
00:15:25Okay.
00:15:26Okay, you get Mimi.
00:15:27Yeah, yeah.
00:15:28Laurence.
00:15:29I'll let you have Jessica for Anna, right?
00:15:32That's a great train.
00:15:33Look at us being civilized.
00:15:34Wow, look at that.

00:16:19This is ready to cut some fabric.
00:16:21This is really good.
00:16:22So how is everything?
00:16:24It's stressful, but I love how you do jackets, so I know you can freak this.
00:16:29I don't know if you feel like making a pattern for the shirt.
00:16:32For which one?
00:16:33And what's it going to be out of?
00:16:34Uh...
00:16:38I don't want to just create like eight looks just to put eight looks on the runway.
00:16:41I want to surprise myself.
00:16:43But I'm not there yet.
00:16:44And the pink, too, I'm like, maybe.
00:16:47I need to figure this out.
00:16:49You have tonight to sleep on it.
00:16:57Active wear in the finale.
00:16:58The pressure is even more now.
00:17:03Hey!
00:17:04Queens entry!
00:17:06Hello!
00:17:07Hi!
00:17:08Hi!
00:17:09Hello!
00:17:10Hey, y'all.
00:17:11Let's make it work.
00:17:12Yeah, bitch.
00:17:13Let's do it.
00:17:19Fockets.
00:17:20We're calling Fockets.
00:17:21Fockets.
00:17:22Okay.
00:17:23Right there.
00:17:25Hello.
00:17:26What are you doing?
00:17:27Ooh!
00:17:29Fab.
00:17:30So pretty.
00:17:31Overall, how are you feeling?
00:17:32I'm feeling great.
00:17:33Feeling great?
00:17:34Still gotta cut the green jumpsuit.
00:17:36Still gotta cut...
00:17:37You still have to cut it?
00:17:38I mean, I have the pattern.
00:17:39I got some sleep.
00:17:40I'm organizing my head.
00:17:42And I have a plan.
00:17:43I know I have a lot to do, but...
00:17:46I'll get it done.
00:17:47What's the purple look?
00:17:49The purple?
00:17:50Where is it?
00:17:51It's a jumpsuit.
00:17:52Well, you didn't make it yet?
00:17:53No, not the jumpsuit.
00:17:54It's a...
00:17:55It's a suit.
00:17:56Oh, the suit.
00:17:57No, no, no.
00:17:58The two looks that you haven't actually sewn are the green jumpsuit and the purple suit,
00:18:02right?
00:18:03Yes.
00:18:04No, but I made the pattern on them.
00:18:05Are you sure?
00:18:06Yes.
00:18:07You don't want to fit them?
00:18:08But I can...
00:18:09You've even seen them tomorrow fit those looks.
00:18:11Yeah, I did.
00:18:12Okay.
00:18:13Because you don't know, you know what I mean?
00:18:14They're both the curvy girls.
00:18:15Yes.
00:18:16You gotta bring them back, and you have to have something to try.
00:18:18I will.
00:18:19Please.
00:18:20I will.
00:18:21Yeah.
00:18:22Two full looks.
00:18:23Yes, yes, yes.
00:18:24We're gonna do it.
00:18:25We're gonna do it.
00:18:26With the hood, and then the bra goes over.
00:18:27Can we do the shrug?
00:18:28Keep going.
00:18:29I got real pink over here.
00:18:31Let me see this look.
00:18:32What is happening?
00:18:33I do not like her.
00:18:34You're fighting her.
00:18:35Look at...
00:18:36Like, that's not the pant.
00:18:37What about a little short or...
00:18:40I don't know.
00:18:41With that top?
00:18:42With that dress?
00:18:43Instead of the trousers?
00:18:44It's not this pink pant.
00:18:45Like, she looks like a little kid.
00:18:46This is like fashion, fashion, fashion.
00:18:48It's like a runway show.
00:18:50Okay.
00:18:51I hear you.
00:18:52You don't need a sleeper look.
00:18:53Because your looks are sportswear.
00:18:55You don't need a more casual of the casual.
00:18:57No, I hear you.
00:18:58You're welcome.
00:19:02Fish me.
00:19:03Ooh, what's happening?
00:19:07That is fabulous.
00:19:09Uh, you can come to me every other circus show.
00:19:11I'm turning this way.
00:19:12Why are you so, um, pouty?
00:19:15Um, I wanna get finished sewing.
00:19:17Yeah?
00:19:18I don't have a lot of stuff done.
00:19:19Okay, get to sewing then.
00:19:20Fine.
00:19:21You don't have to talk to me.
00:19:22Yeah, I just gotta get the jacket right.
00:19:23Once I recut the jacket, I gotta recut it.
00:19:26Let me know if you need anything.
00:19:28I will.
00:19:29I will.
00:19:30I will.
00:19:31Roger, give him some love.
00:19:35Well, yeah, that's what I've been doing.
00:19:38It's loving my brother.
00:19:39Okay.
00:19:40Good.
00:19:42Bye.
00:19:43Bye.
00:19:44All right, designers.
00:19:45When you're ready, take your model to the Tresme hair salon and the Bobby Brown makeup
00:19:48studio.
00:19:49Good luck.
00:19:50Hi.
00:19:51Hey.
00:19:52How are you?
00:19:53Good to see you again.
00:19:54Good.
00:19:55I'm so happy that you're here.
00:19:58Tell me a little bit about your look.
00:20:00The whole vibe is very, like, high fashion active.
00:20:03My thought was just a slick back pony, but doing the bubble pony.
00:20:09Love.
00:20:10Yeah.
00:20:11I'm gonna use the Tresme Extra Hold Moose.
00:20:13It's going to help me keep her hair back, but it doesn't have that sticky feel that most
00:20:18moose have yet.
00:20:21This looks super sleek and modern.
00:20:23Yes.
00:20:24Yes, mama.
00:20:25Yes.
00:20:26Thank you so much.
00:20:27Hello.
00:20:28Hey.
00:20:29I'm excited.
00:20:30Tell me about your look.
00:20:31So I really want for them to have, like, drawn, just bone straight flowy.
00:20:34Just, like, really sleek.
00:20:36Super sleek.
00:20:37Modern.
00:20:38So I'm gonna use the Tresme Prone Fusion Smooth Tonic.
00:20:40Okay.
00:20:41It's gonna really help with the shine and hydration and really get us that sleekness that we're
00:20:45looking for.
00:20:46Okay.
00:20:47It leaves her hair hydrated and smooth.
00:20:53Already super sleek, super soft.
00:20:56Yeah.
00:20:57That's awesome.
00:20:58It's already giving us what we need.
00:20:59Oh, yeah.
00:21:00I already, I see it.
00:21:01Can you see this?
00:21:02Thank you so much.
00:21:04Ah, I'm so good.
00:21:05It's so good to see you.
00:21:07Talk to me about your collection.
00:21:08I'm dying to see it.
00:21:09So, I want them to be super classy.
00:21:12I don't really want any colors, so a lot of contouring.
00:21:15I'm taking a touch of our long wear cream shadow stick in a shade that's matte.
00:21:20I'm just gonna add a little bit of depth right here.
00:21:24Underneath the cheekbone, it's still very monochromatic.
00:21:27Yeah, I love it.
00:21:28Thank you so much.
00:21:29Thank you, too.
00:21:30Good luck.
00:21:31Bye.
00:21:32All right, designers.
00:21:33I have exciting news for you.
00:21:36Tomorrow morning, CFDA is coming to meet with each of you.
00:21:41Oh, wow.
00:21:42It's gonna be really helpful.
00:21:43I promise.
00:21:44Take advantage.
00:21:45Take it in.
00:21:46Get to work.
00:21:47Lots of sewing to do.
00:21:48Bye.
00:21:49Bye.
00:21:56I only have three looks.
00:21:58God save me.
00:21:59I said my stress level wasn't that high, but now it is.
00:22:04And that's time, people.
00:22:06Let's go, you guys.
00:22:07Night Lounge.
00:22:08Let's go to the house.
00:22:14Cheers to you.
00:22:15Cheers.
00:22:16Congratulations to you.
00:22:17Cheers.
00:22:18So how do you guys feel, though?
00:22:21Yeah, final three.
00:22:22Yeah.
00:22:23It's like someone telling you great news and then pushing you off a clip.
00:22:27You've been staying up since 12.30, 1 o'clock.
00:22:29Trying to force yourself to go to sleep, but you can because your mind is just racing.
00:22:33Good.
00:22:34I'm sad.
00:22:36I feel like a knot in my throat.
00:22:39I am feeling a bit worried about my overall collection because I do not see it coming together yet.
00:22:45So I need to rethink some things and readjust.
00:22:49You stress me out.
00:23:03Last day in the workroom.
00:23:06Happy final day.
00:23:07I did.
00:23:08Where do we start, girl?
00:23:09Start and finish on that draping white dress.
00:23:12I sew it in on both sides, right?
00:23:14Yeah.
00:23:18Hi.
00:23:19Hi.
00:23:20I'm Mark Karamazata, the tutorial and communications director of the CFDA.
00:23:23I'm so thrilled to be here and to meet all of you.
00:23:25I'm really here to see your collections and to talk to you about your future, your brand.
00:23:30Wow.
00:23:31Excited to have you.
00:23:32Yes.
00:23:38Oh my God.
00:23:40Brittany, what's your customer look like?
00:23:42She's a city girl, very independent.
00:23:44You know, she does her own thing.
00:23:45You're ahead of a lot of designers because you already know exactly who your customer is and you know exactly what your brand looks like.
00:23:51Yeah.
00:23:52Which is a great thing.
00:23:53I love this denim jacket.
00:23:55Yeah.
00:23:56It was upcycling and that was one day.
00:23:58What's in there?
00:23:59It's very heavy.
00:24:00It's muslin.
00:24:01It's very heavy.
00:24:02It's very heavy.
00:24:03It's very heavy.
00:24:04Like this, trying to like work in my DNA, it kind of did really start like here and here and doing like the undergarment pieces here.
00:24:12Which must be so difficult with the challenges because it's all different challenges.
00:24:15So how do you bring the DNA into that challenge?
00:24:17Yeah.
00:24:18What would you see that starting point for me, like for the mentorship, like where would it be looking down the road and what I see by brand being?
00:24:26We'd look to help speak to people who know the business of fashion, speak to manufacturers who know how to make the kind of clothes that you want for your collection.
00:24:37Yeah, that would be amazing.
00:24:38Well, thank you so much.
00:24:39It was so great to meet you.
00:24:40Oh, no.
00:24:41Thank you so much.
00:24:43Whoa.
00:24:45What would you say your story is and who you really want to dress with your clothes?
00:24:49For my story, I'll use fashion as my, like, my diary.
00:24:53So I'm always adding hints of myself into the garments and telling like a dramatic avant-garde story with a bit of streetwear.
00:25:00I see real range, which is really important, I think, in terms of building your business.
00:25:04We're an organization of more than 450 members.
00:25:07We have a lot of resources to help a young designer like you.
00:25:10Gotcha.
00:25:11Thank you so much.
00:25:12Hello.
00:25:13Laurence.
00:25:14So if you had to describe your brand, how would you describe it?
00:25:18My brand is edgy and classy, super feminine and masculine mixed together.
00:25:24And I do leather.
00:25:25So that's what I'm known for.
00:25:27So obviously looking here, I see the whole breadth of your talent.
00:25:30Yeah.
00:25:31Leather is your focus, but are you really thinking about other materials?
00:25:34How are you looking to expand your collection?
00:25:36I want to do everything.
00:25:37Yeah.
00:25:38Leather is my love, but I want to do everything.
00:25:39That's why I try to do a mix of different things.
00:25:42That's a very smart thing because when you think about a woman, she might really love leather.
00:25:46Yeah.
00:25:47But there's other parts of her life when she doesn't want to wear leather.
00:25:49Absolutely.
00:25:50And then she would be the go-to designer.
00:25:51Yeah.
00:25:52She already likes your aesthetic and what you stand for.
00:25:53Yeah.
00:25:54And if you communicate that very clearly who you are and what you stand for, you could have that customer for life.
00:25:59Okay.
00:26:00Which is a wonderful thing.
00:26:01Yes.
00:26:02Thank you so very much.
00:26:03Thank you so, so much.
00:26:04Hey, you guys.
00:26:05Are you ready for models?
00:26:06They're here.
00:26:07Yes, work.
00:26:08Welcome back.
00:26:09Do you want to start with the pants with her?
00:26:25All right.
00:26:26So let's do, let's try this on first.
00:26:27Mm-hmm.
00:26:28So this model fitting is exactly what I needed.
00:26:30And I just need to fit this spandex tube shape on Jasmine to make sure that we're on the right track of just perfecting this look.
00:26:38You know what would be cool if I put a biker short underneath it?
00:26:41That'd be hot.
00:26:42It looks beautiful.
00:26:43Well, for me, I just want to see where the other one lands.
00:26:47I'm going to take this in a little bit too.
00:26:52Yep.
00:26:53Can't wait to see it.
00:26:54He's coming.
00:26:56Yeah.
00:26:57And I think he's doing something with, um, with your look too.
00:27:02Ooh.
00:27:04Ooh.
00:27:09Ooh.
00:27:10This is probably the most stressed out I've been all season because I'm not where I want to be at.
00:27:15I'm not at a proper checkpoint for myself.
00:27:18And I'm dealing with grief that adds more pressure on to me that I already have.
00:27:23Um.
00:27:27I'm trying, y'all.
00:27:29I need to go find your designer because at this, this is as far as I can take you.
00:27:34I think I'm done.
00:27:37Bish.
00:27:39You have models.
00:27:40Stupid creatures.
00:27:41My family.
00:27:42Where is he?
00:27:43Crazy.
00:27:45Where did he say he's going?
00:27:50Where is he?
00:27:51Where is he?
00:27:55Where did he say he's going?
00:27:57where is it where did he say he's going
00:28:07what's happening i'm trying to figure everything out in my mind

00:28:20we don't have the time for the mind to play those tricks or not i need you inside i've been handling
00:28:25my grief throughout this competition but i think what was making me sad is that um bro

00:28:44it's been a roller coaster being here i keep realizing i'm grieving my sister at the same

00:29:28long time you want to go and see a lot of these things in that moment
00:29:31and i'll have to do this on my other hand behind me and i'll have to wait a minute
00:29:34and then i will have to wait for one of the future that i just want to go to the top of the
00:29:36underneath my hair right now okay i can't wait for a minute
00:29:37isn't there any chance you can sit still in a second time

00:41:41it showcases so many different personalities that i have within me and so many different techniques that i have
00:41:53to see the evolution of this collection is just amazing to me because i allowed all of
00:42:17the darkness and all of the things i've experienced in my past to help me get to this moment
00:42:31and to be able to have this moment that i've been dreaming for since i first watched this show as a
00:42:48teenager just breathtaking
00:43:18the finale dress what happens to be the anxiety gown is everything plus more

00:44:00i'm just thankful that i was able to see this and truly be pleased with everything that i created
00:44:06incredible in such a short period of time he's smart with his construction materials
00:44:21i gotta literally step back and be proud of myself because i don't know if anyone would have been able to
00:44:28handle what i handled literally days before the runway show

00:44:39kill it two one go
00:44:54hi baby i just want to say hello to molly i miss you i love you
00:45:00my name is lawrence bass so my fashion is always inspired by where i'm from so i wanted to make a
00:45:06collection uh about paris because every time we talk about this city we always see the beautiful side of
00:45:12it and i wanted to bring the dark side of paris and the beautiful mix together so you guys enjoy and
00:45:33stay out there um
00:45:43this collection is me
00:45:46it's uh a piece of me that i'm giving you if you understand my collection you'll get to understand a
00:45:52little bit of who i am
00:46:03I feel like people are still thinking of leather like there's only one or two things you can do
00:46:19with it, but leather has evolved so much that you can literally do anything with it.
00:46:24That's what I want to do. I want to take leather to a whole new level.
00:46:34I came here saying I was the next project one-way winner, so I really believe in my heart that
00:46:54I could win this whole thing.
00:46:59Watching my creations go down the runway, it's a whole bunch of emotions and it's a moment,
00:47:06you know what I mean? But overall, it's great.
00:47:24When the finale look comes down the runway, it is giving, giving, giving. I love the model,
00:47:43I love the look, I love the red. It was pretty clear from the beginning that she was going to close the show.
00:47:51I mean, of all the three designers, every material she used has nothing for giving.
00:48:11She's working with leather. She's kind of amazing.
00:48:14This whole experience of project one-way, you always learn something when you come here about yourself,
00:48:21about life, things that you don't even know you're capable of doing. So I'm super proud of me for making it this far.
00:48:28Oh my god, we did it. Oh my god, we did it.
00:48:38It was 100% evidence that these designers were all-stars.
00:48:42For the girls, for the girls.
00:48:46I especially enjoyed Britney's show because she didn't go over the top couture.
00:48:51She went, designed real clothes and real sportive and it's much more casual.
00:48:56I love my mommy.
00:48:58Hey, my mom.
00:48:59I love you.
00:49:00I love you.
00:49:01You did good.
00:49:02That one with the tall one.
00:49:04Mm-hmm.
00:49:04She did that thing.
00:49:05Yeah, she did.
00:49:06If I were picking a winner, I'd be going with Bishni. I loved that collection.
00:49:11I mean, it just felt very organic. It felt street. Like, it just looked cohesive. I loved it.
00:49:17I haven't seen my baby in over two months.
00:49:20It's been a while.
00:49:21Yeah.
00:49:22Mm-hmm.
00:49:23You know, I have to say, I think it's Laurence's game to take the whole thing.
00:49:27I thought her collection was the most cohesive out of everybody's.
00:49:32Every look was better than the next.
00:49:34Thank you, guys. You killed it. All of you did an amazing job.
00:49:39I think this is going to be one of the hardest decisions in the history of Project Runway.
00:49:46There's only going to be one winner. Now we wait.
00:49:49Final three all-stars. We are so incredibly proud of you, so impressed by what you were able to achieve in just eight days.
00:50:08Thank you. It was incredible.
00:50:10Really lovely.
00:50:11And of course, can we give it up for our guest judges today?
00:50:15Yes.
00:50:16Dad Pose and Billy Porter.
00:50:18Yeah, yeah, yeah.
00:50:18We just casually have two icons with us today, so.
00:50:22It's overwhelming.
00:50:24The three of you delivered three incredible different shows that relied on your unique point of view.
00:50:35I am always so moved by fashion, and I am so, so happy to be here.
00:50:44Laurence.
00:50:45Hi.
00:50:46So nice to see you.
00:50:47Nice to see you.
00:50:48A reunion.
00:50:49My pleasure.
00:50:50I think you're so talented.
00:50:52Five years on the show, the best tailor I've seen.
00:50:56You all delivered a unique vision, and you brought the drama.
00:51:01I'm blown away and very happy to be here.
00:51:05Thanks.
00:51:05Let's start with you, Brittany.
00:51:07Okay, let's do it.
00:51:08Tell us about the collection and your inspiration.
00:51:11I wanted to show the progression of introducing color and introducing prints and then combining
00:51:16colors that you wouldn't think that you would ever, you know, put together.
00:51:20Yes, it was eight looks, but it was 21 pieces.
00:51:22All interchangeable.
00:51:23Everything could have been swapped.
00:51:24This top with this skirt, with this jacket, with this bottom.
00:51:27It's really fun to make.
00:51:28You stood out, but you stood out in a good way.
00:51:32You found a way to put an evening gown in the context of your activewear world that you're
00:51:38building.
00:51:39It's magical what you've been able to do to elevate the activewear slash athleisure space.
00:51:47The culotte, the bra, like I see it already.
00:51:50It's stunning.
00:51:51Wow.
00:51:52What an honor.
00:51:54I think the really interesting parts of your collection were the pieces where you took the
00:51:59inspiration of activewear, but did it in a more high fashion kind of luxury technique way.
00:52:05It kind of took it to a whole new place.
00:52:07My only criticism is off of the runway, it could go a little costume.
00:52:14Your styling was phenomenal.
00:52:17You gave every girl that ponytail, the hoops, and the same boots.
00:52:23So everything felt very cohesive.
00:52:25But what most impressed me was the pant version of this.
00:52:30And turning this pattern into a 3D perspective made me think, wow, you could do things on a
00:52:37bigger scale.
00:52:38Wow.
00:52:38That's my heart is full.
00:52:41I mean, so much.
00:52:42Thank you so much, Brittany.
00:52:43Ishmi, tell us all about your collection.
00:52:47Tell us about your inspiration.
00:52:49You want to know everything.
00:52:50I wanted to showcase the good side of things, the not so good side when it gets a little rocky,
00:52:57and then when you overpower the darkness and the things that kind of like build you to be the
00:53:01stronger version of yourself.
00:53:03The first opening look showcased the innocence.
00:53:06Innocence?
00:53:06Kind of like in an innocence, my version of innocence.
00:53:08She's a vixen.
00:53:09And the red represent rage and the black just represent darkness.
00:53:15This dress actually represents anxiety that you overpower to kind of like turn it into something
00:53:21positive.
00:53:21I really love that this is called the anxiety gown because it doesn't feel like the anxiety
00:53:31is oppressive.
00:53:32It feels like you're moving through it.
00:53:35You got to that place where evening wear can become art.
00:53:40So you did something very special and very moving for me today.
00:53:43Bishmi, it was cohesive.
00:53:47It was inspiring.
00:53:48It was sophisticated.
00:53:50And most importantly, it was well edited.
00:53:53The juxtaposition of that kind of urban influence with the elegance of your work was genius.
00:54:00Thank you, Brittany.
00:54:01Bishmi, you always surprise me.
00:54:05And as an editor, I can see these on the pages of our magazine, on celebrities.
00:54:11Your clothes just have that fashion with a capital F.
00:54:15You have a gift and I want you to feel confident about it.
00:54:19Thank you, Nina.
00:54:20That means a lot.
00:54:21The only look that I didn't think you needed was probably the latex gown.
00:54:28Gotcha.
00:54:28Because we've kind of moved away from the sleeves, which used to be your signature.
00:54:34And I think that you are a designer that has so many ideas, you don't really have to stick to one.
00:54:40Thank you so much, Bishmi.
00:54:42All right, Laurence.
00:54:42My inspiration was Paris.
00:54:45I'm an African girl.
00:54:47I was born in Normandy.
00:54:48So I wanted to bring both sides together and create my story.
00:54:54That's why I had so much hardware, leather, lace, and organza.
00:54:58Which is like two worlds that usually don't really meet.
00:55:02Mm-hmm.
00:55:03I love coming to Project Runway because I get to shop.
00:55:05I want that.
00:55:08I just love this so much.
00:55:09I would love it with a flared pants.
00:55:13Okay, she could do that.
00:55:14We're going to exchange numbers.
00:55:15No problem.
00:55:16I got you.
00:55:17I need that.
00:55:19Laurence, you deliver garments that are so precise and well made.
00:55:27I love that pull and push of the romantic with the hard, that very sculptural jacket,
00:55:34and the shine.
00:55:35These are things that could look terrible together, but will never do under your supervision.
00:55:43You're a tough candidate to beat.
00:55:46You exude an elegance and a sophistication, and I can see evolution in your work, but it's still signature.
00:55:56The one look that I kind of had trouble with, the purple thing.
00:56:00Yeah.
00:56:00Where'd that come from?
00:56:01That wasn't the direction I was going with the suit, but I had to change the shape,
00:56:06and it was supposed to be something else.
00:56:08Trust your gut is if you have that instinct, I think pull it.
00:56:12Okay.
00:56:13I love the duality of your inspiration, but mostly I was excited to see a new side of you.
00:56:20You were able to incorporate this joy, this fluidity, this poetry, this romance,
00:56:28that we haven't associated with your work before, and you turned up the volume.
00:56:33In the history of Project Runway, I think you make clothes that look
00:56:36more expensive than anything this show has ever seen.
00:56:40Okay, designers.
00:56:42This is going to be an extremely painful, difficult decision to make tonight.
00:56:48Whoa.
00:56:50But it's time for us to decide the winner.
00:56:53Thank you, guys.
00:56:54All right, bye-bye.
00:56:54Thanks.
00:56:56An honor.
00:56:56So we have three designers here who are worthy of winning the prize.
00:57:12And unfortunately, only one can win.
00:57:16Who do you see as the future of fashion, right?
00:57:19I feel like there is a case to be made for each and every one of these designers.
00:57:24Absolutely.
00:57:24They just are so incredibly different.
00:57:26For instance, with Britney, she's in a class of her own because she's designing for activewear.
00:57:31And so it's challenging to even have Britney in the same sentence as Laurence or Bishmi.
00:57:37With Britney, she got eight out of eight.
00:57:40You gave Britney an eight out of eight?
00:57:42I was impressed with all of it.
00:57:45Honestly, I believe that she is capable of much more than just activewear.
00:57:49But also there's nothing wrong with just having that niche.
00:57:52Absolutely.
00:57:53Repetition is reputation.
00:57:55That's really good.
00:57:56Yeah, I like that.
00:57:57That pant that she did, she took the fabric and she turned it into that 3D.
00:58:04A little texture.
00:58:05Yes.
00:58:05That was fantastic.
00:58:06She's mixing colors and textures that are not that easy to mix at all.
00:58:10At all.
00:58:11That category is so important right now, that activewear, right?
00:58:16My question is, what is the longevity of that?
00:58:20Right.
00:58:20Fashion is always changing.
00:58:23So who has that longevity or who is looking forward to fashion?
00:58:28Bishmi for me had the singular piece of the evening inside of that anxiety gown.
00:58:34He gave us a really well edited, a really thoughtful show that made you think the art on the finale piece.
00:58:41The tricks that work on the runway, the big tool train and the wow factor of that volume.
00:58:48But he added pieces of him and his heart in every single piece.
00:58:52It was like a crescendo, right?
00:58:54Yes.
00:58:54For eight pieces, I thought that was very well done.
00:58:58He created consistency through asymmetry from the hoodie dress to the top and skirt dress.
00:59:04The consistency is there, but they're done differently.
00:59:06Yeah.
00:59:07But it kind of follows through and then it goes into a print, which was really strong,
00:59:11into the fringe dress.
00:59:12Not my favorite, but that idea worked.
00:59:15I didn't feel like it would fit properly.
00:59:17It wasn't, but he has these elements that could like rock the red carpet.
00:59:22Absolutely.
00:59:23He reminds me of a Telfar.
00:59:25Everything had like a street wear, street style influence.
00:59:28But ultimately, the thing that caught fire were those bags.
00:59:32Were those bags.
00:59:32That's the business.
00:59:34Some designers just love to make clothes, but not Bishby.
00:59:37He loves the accessory and the clothes.
00:59:40Well, you know who I'd love to see make a bag?
00:59:42Laurence.
00:59:42Oh.
00:59:43That leather bag.
00:59:44Her technique and her seaming.
00:59:47Those are the things that you really value in clothing.
00:59:49A mastery of technique.
00:59:51Inventive construction.
00:59:52Inventive construction.
00:59:54No joke.
00:59:55She's just remarkable.
00:59:56Like every single stitch and moment was really brilliant.
01:00:02She's a sexy tailor.
01:00:03She's a sexy tailor.
01:00:04With edge.
01:00:05Right.
01:00:06But she's not a good editor because she had this purple thing.
01:00:09I would have done anything to get rid of that.
01:00:12The moments where she messed up were forgettable to me.
01:00:15To the point where I would give her double points for each look that I loved.
01:00:20Because I loved it so much that biker jacket could not fit better.
01:00:25And same with the skirt.
01:00:26This is what I would want to go to the red carpet.
01:00:28And with all of that said, when this is a finale runway moment, give me a little more.
01:00:35Sometimes wow doesn't need to be big.
01:00:36It doesn't need to be big.
01:00:37And we're talking about a gown.
01:00:38I mean, I'm a gown guy.
01:00:39Just take our breath away.
01:00:39Yeah.
01:00:40And I'm just saying sometimes things can be quiet in their power.
01:00:45And that speaks to her taste level.
01:00:47Yeah.
01:00:48That's what makes her such a tasteful, elevated, refined, sophisticated designer.
01:00:53That red jacket and patent leather with the lace, payette, skirt was fabulous.
01:01:00Yeah.
01:01:00It absolutely is.
01:01:03It's hard.
01:01:04All of them have that super power that will make them a phenomenal winner.
01:01:10Mm-hmm.
01:01:13Okay.
01:01:13Do we have the winner of Project Runway season 20?
01:01:18Yes, we do.
01:01:21Yes.
01:01:21Ah!
01:01:28Woo-hoo!
01:01:28Woo-hoo!
01:01:29Oh, my, bro.
01:01:31Let's go, y'all.
01:01:35Look at the little man.
01:01:35Oh, wow!
01:01:40Designers, today, once again, we're witnessing the relentless power of fashion.
01:01:51It has been a real honor to be sitting in this judging chair for 20 seasons.
01:02:01We are so proud of all three of you, but there can only be one winner.
01:02:07And tonight, one of you proved that your brand is ready to take this industry by storm.
01:02:14And we are ready to watch you shine.
01:02:20The winner of Project Runway is...
01:02:36I've dreamed of winning Project Runway ever since I first seen Christian on his season.
01:02:54Then to be here the second time and win, it honestly felt like the kid in me is just
01:02:59extremely proud and just excited as hell.
01:03:03I thank y'all so much for this.
01:03:06I miss my sister so much.
01:03:08And, um, before she passed away, she told me I was gonna win.
01:03:15All I had to do was just believe it.
01:03:17Ooh.
01:03:19And this just right here just showcased to me
01:03:22everything I've been fighting for is worth it.
01:03:24I owe this win to my sister.
01:03:27My biggest fan, the first person who didn't judge me for doing something outside the norm.
01:03:36And she was there to allow me to blossom and fall deeply in love with my creativity.
01:03:43I know my sister is looking down and just happy and smiling from ear to ear.
01:03:55You're everything, baby.
01:03:56I love you.
01:03:59Not only am I about to have a mentorship from the CFDA, I'm about to have PR representation,
01:04:05which is, like, amazing. And then the $250,000 is just about to change everything.
01:04:10I promise I will never forget this moment, ever.
