Davina McCall reveals shock breast cancer diagnosis after finding lump

00:00Hello. I'm talking about this because I think it might help someone and this is

00:10what I always do. So I just wanted to tell you that I have had breast cancer.

00:15I found a lump a few weeks ago and it came and went but then I was working on

00:23The Masked Singer and Lorraine, the TV show Lorraine Kelly, had put signs on the

00:28back of all the doors saying check your breasts and every time I went for a wee I

00:30did that and it was still there and then one morning I saw it in the mirror and

00:36I thought I'm gonna get that looked at so I had a biopsy I found out it was indeed

00:40breast cancer and I had it taken out in a lumpectomy nearly three weeks ago and the

00:52margins they take out a little bit extra and they check the margins and the

00:56margins are clear it was very very small so I'd got it very very early which is

01:02incredibly lucky but I am so relieved to have had it removed and to know that it

01:15hasn't spread my lymph nodes were clear I didn't have any removed and all I'm gonna

01:20do now is have five days of radiotherapy in January as kind of an insurance policy and

01:29then I am on my journey to try and stop it ever coming back I just want to say a

01:39massive thank you to everybody at the Royal Marsden Rachel you're amazing Karen

01:44princess all Patricia all the nurses doctors that have helped me thank you for your support

01:53thanks to my family to my brilliant kids and an extra special thanks to Michael it's been a lot I was

02:03very angry when I found out but I let go of that and I feel in a much more positive place now

02:12I think my message is get checked if you're worried check yourself regularly if you are due a mammogram

02:24um then get it done and I have dense breasts and I had a mammogram in August and I was postponing the

02:34ultrasound I just couldn't find time to do it don't do that get the ultrasound um and
