Anwar inaugurates Seberang Perai UTC, to serve over one million residents

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim on Saturday (Nov 8 ) officiated the opening of the Seberang Perai Urban Transformation Centre (UTC) at the Penang Sentral Transport Terminal in Butterworth, which is expected to benefit more than one million residents in surrounding areas, including the southern border of Kedah and northern Perak. 00:25The UTC is among the initiatives announced by the Prime Minister

00:28during the Tabling of Budget 2025,

00:31realized through strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Finance and the Penang State Government.

00:37Located within an integrated transport hub connecting KTM, buses, ferries and taxis,

00:44the Seberang Parai UTC serves as a vital gateway to the Northern Corridor Economic Region

00:50and strengthens Butterworth's position as a socio-economic focal point in Seberang Parai.

00:56Operating daily, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m., the UTC houses various key government agencies,

01:04including the National Registration Department, Immigration Department,

01:08Road Transport Department, Health Ministries Health and Dental Clinics,

01:13the Royal Malaysia Police, the Public Services Commission, and the Inland Revenue Board.

01:18The UTC also introduces a public-private career hub,

01:22a collaboration between the SPA and MyFutureJobs,

01:26providing local job seekers with direct career information and advisory services.

01:31In terms of operational facilities,

01:33the centre features an integrated SmartQ management system,

01:37open workspaces and modern equipment.
