00:00I am Justin Dargan, and I'm honored to have been invited to address all of you today.
00:05While I'm unable to address you in person due to prior commitments,
00:09I'm extremely excited to share my vision for Ghana's sustainable future.
00:14Ghana stands at a pivotal moment, a nation blessed with rich resources
00:18and an entrepreneurial spirit which is poised for immense economic growth.
00:22Yet the harsh reality of energy poverty affects millions,
00:26hindering progress and disrupting prosperity.
00:28This challenge, compounded by the looming threat of climate change,
00:33demands bold action and innovative solutions.
00:37But what if this challenge were, in fact, Ghana's greatest opportunity?
00:42What if we could reimagine Ghana's energy future not as a burden,
00:46but as a springboard for innovation, growth, and true empowerment?
00:51Ladies and gentlemen, decarbonization is not merely an environmental necessity.
00:56It is the very key to unlocking Ghana's economic potential.
01:01By transitioning to a low-carbon economy, Ghana can achieve extraordinary results.
01:07We can stimulate economic growth by creating thousands of new green jobs in renewable energy,
01:14energy efficiency, and sustainable infrastructure.
01:17We can also attract billions of dollars in foreign investment,
01:20positioning Ghana as the leader in the global energy transition.
01:25We can also reduce Ghana's reliance on expensive imported fossil fuels,
01:30thereby stabilizing energy prices and increasing Ghana's energy security.
01:34We can also improve the health and well-being of millions by providing clean, reliable electricity
01:40to schools, homes, and hospitals.
01:43Through our extensive experience in diverse global markets,
01:47we've witnessed firsthand how strategic investment in renewable energy
01:51can transform economies and uplift communities.
01:54But we also recognize that sustainable development goes beyond economic growth.
01:59It is about empowering communities and ensuring that the benefits of clean energy reach everyone.
02:05And that is where Tangelic comes in.
02:09Tangelic is our non-profit social impact initiative,
02:12hand-in-hand with local communities to deploy solar power and clean cooking solutions.
02:17We're not just bringing light.
02:19We're empowering individuals, fostering entrepreneurship,
02:23and building a brighter future from the ground up.
02:26Through our Sunrise Spectrum Initiative,
02:28we are partnering with visionary organizations across Ghana to expand our reach and impact.
02:33Together, we are creating a movement that is transforming lives
02:38and building a legacy of sustainable development.
02:41My colleague, Justin Williams, the Executive Director of Tangelic,
02:45will share more details about our work and future plans during his presentation.
02:50Ghana has the potential to be a beacon of hope,
02:53a model for sustainable development,
02:56and a leader in Africa's green revolution.
02:58I invite all of you today to join us in this audacious endeavor.
03:03Let us work together to create a Ghana where clean energy is not just a dream,
03:08but it's a reality.
03:10A Ghana that stands tall as a testament to the power of human ingenuity,
03:15collaboration, and the indomitable willpower of the Ghanaian people.
