00:00What do you make of Armani's comments there?
00:02In particular, do you think he was boosted by his very outspoken stance
00:08with regard to the Israel-Hamas conflict?
00:10I feel like everybody's over-indexing on the parts of his election
00:13that they feel the strongest about.
00:15So people on the very far left think that it's because of his position on Israel-Palestine.
00:19And I'm sure that energised, especially younger voters,
00:21you know, a bit more people on the right are attacking him
00:24for all sorts of crazy reasons that I don't think are very relevant
00:27to why he's winning, him being a socialist or communist
00:30or a radical Islamic jihadist that, you know, I've heard.
00:33I feel like my analysis is a lot more crude or boring.
00:36Like I look at the two campaigns, I feel like Cuomo's was relatively uninspired.
00:40I'm probably quite a bit to the right of Mamdani when it comes to economics.
00:43There's a lot of his policy that I don't really like,
00:45but I thought it was really funny.
00:46Like it almost felt like I was watching like a guest star on The Daily Show.
00:50He seems like a funny dude.
00:51I like listening to all of his speeches.
00:54He seems like he's been pretty above board with all of his campaign stuff
00:57whereas the attacks against him I felt have been pretty unhinged
00:59from Cuomo and from the Republican establishment at large.
01:04And I mean, New York City is a pretty left-leaning voting population.
01:07So once he secured the primary,
01:09I feel like it was pretty unlikely that he was going to lose in the general.
01:13So yeah, that's just how I view it.
01:14I think he ran a good campaign.
01:15I think he deserved to win.
01:16I would have to.
