00:00I mean, President Trump was quite disparaging about Mayor-elect Mamdani in the last 24 hours,
00:07calling him a little communist and a self-professed, quote, Jew-hater.
00:12I mean, do you agree with what President Trump said?
00:15Do you think those two labels are indeed apt in your mind?
00:19Well, President Trump has a way of stating things very directly,
00:24and I don't always agree with his tone or his statements.
00:28I think we have to be concerned about his attitudes,
00:33and we have to make sure he doesn't become a full-fledged communist and a full-fledged Jew-hater.
00:41There are risks, and there are risks that some of his followers will misunderstand him,
00:47and it will increase the violence we've seen against Jewish citizens in New York
00:52and the anti-Israel protests that we've seen.
00:57Remember that a mayor doesn't speak only for himself.
01:01He has, you know, hundreds of thousands, and in this case, millions of people around the country
01:05who will now see him as a symbol of the new Democratic Party.
01:09And if they misinterpret it or if they say, you know,
01:14when he says he won't condemn a call for globalizing the jihad,
01:20well, whether some person in Queens will say, oh, that means I can blow up a building,
01:25there is that risk, the risk that he could be misinterpreted and misunderstood.
01:31So we hope for the best.
01:33We fear the worst.
01:35And we'll see if New York survives this.
01:37A lot of New Yorkers are going to leave.
01:39A lot of New York corporations are going to leave for very simple reasons,
01:43very, very high taxation.
01:44But New York will survive that.
01:47I think the question is, what kind of a mayor Mamdani will be?
01:51Will he be a fiery, radical, left-wing socialist who wants to bring down America?
01:56Or will he be more like a Scandinavian or Israeli socialist,
02:02where you have some degree of socialism,
02:04but a large amount of free market capitalism operating at the same time?
02:09I have an open mind.
