00:00Grazie per la visione di noi online per questo nuovo Euro News format.
00:13Questo è 12 minuti con Edy Rama, Prime Minister di Albania.
00:18Grazie per essere qui.
00:19As you heard today from the report and from Marta Kos,
00:40Qual è il tuo take?
00:41Il report è molto positivo e il tutto l'anno è stato molto positivo.
00:49We have opened 5 of 6 clasters within only 11 months,
00:56which is an absolute record in terms of speed.
01:01It's something that until only a few years ago
01:05I would not have been able to imagine.
01:08But this is why life is so beautiful.
01:12So what's the secret?
01:14Why don't you share this secret with other candidate countries?
01:16The speed is related with two main factors.
01:21On one hand, during the, what I call, years of humiliation,
01:28which were the years when the EU Commission
01:33was recommending to the Council
01:37to open accession talks with Albania
01:39and we were rejected by a few countries.
01:43We were stubbornly prepared for the moment of the opening
01:49and we trained in the hardest way with all our team
01:55by simply saying to ourselves
01:58our moment to show our true colours will come
02:04and for that moment we have to be ready.
02:08And as a matter of fact, when the moment came
02:12we were much more advanced than maybe others
02:17in that precise moment of the opening.
02:19Well, given that this has been indeed a very long process for Albania
02:22it has been 16 years all together.
02:26You've previously spoken about the shifting goalposts by Brussels.
02:32Do you feel like this has changed
02:35and there is this new push
02:37and this situation is over for Albania
02:40but also for the other candidates from the region
02:43because they have been also waiting for a very long time.
02:46And here comes the factor number two
02:50which is exactly Brussels
02:52that changed its approach
02:56and woke up.
02:59Unfortunately, it was needed an aggression
03:04in the European soil, military aggression
03:07to make Brussels wake up
03:11not simply in the level of the commission
03:14where we have always found fairness
03:18very painful, very neurotic, but fair
03:23but also in the level of the council
03:26where the blah, blah, blah of before
03:29that yes, one day we'll be together
03:32yes, we love you
03:34yes, we're going to marry
03:36but we are not ready to talk for the moment
03:39was over
03:41and a new momentum
03:45is still here
03:48and the new approach
03:50it's still the case.
03:53I hope that this will not fade away
03:55and I very much
03:57hope that
03:59we will finally
04:01get together around the same table.
04:05Yeah, I was about to ask you
04:06about whether
04:07whether this momentum
04:08and this situation
04:09of more of serious commitment
04:10as you describe there
04:12whether it is going to last
04:14Albania is now
04:15considered one of the front runners
04:17your goal is to enter the EU
04:19by 2030
04:21now
04:21how do you also
04:24how do you also see
04:25this situation
04:26with the shifting goalposts
04:28by Brussels
04:29changing
04:30or possibly not changing
04:32for the other countries
04:33in your region?
04:34Well for this
04:35you have to ask Brussels
04:36but as far as I am concerned
04:39I might tell you
04:42that the 2030
04:43is not a date
04:45that I saw in a dream
04:48but it's a deadline
04:51that is the result
04:53of a very simple calculation
04:55we start from the fact
04:58that together with the commission
04:59in full consensus
05:01with the commission
05:03we have agreed
05:05on a calendar
05:06that is very ambitious
05:07but it's doable
05:08of homework for us
05:11to conclude
05:13the accession talks
05:14the negotiations
05:15at the end
05:16of 2027
05:18there is a possibility
05:20to do it even faster
05:21let's say
05:22in the first half of 27
05:24and would be reasons for that
05:25but let's say
05:26end of 27
05:27and then
05:28the average time
05:31we have looked into
05:32when it comes to
05:34the 27 parliaments
05:36to ratify
05:39the decision
05:41is around two years
05:43and this is how
05:45we envisage Albania
05:46to sit
05:47around the table
05:48of the EU
05:49on 2030
05:50but of course
05:51we are not at all
05:53against
05:53to be there
05:55faster
05:56everyone
05:57has its own path
05:58and everyone
05:59has to fulfill
06:01its own obligations
06:03and to do
06:03its own homework
06:04so
06:05there are different
06:08characteristics
06:09in the region
06:10there are different
06:11countries
06:12different histories
06:13and so on
06:13and so further
06:14when it comes to us
06:16I can say
06:17with a very loud voice
06:19that we are
06:20the most
06:21Euro optimistic
06:22nation
06:24in Europe
06:26or as
06:27Donald Trump
06:27would say
06:28on earth
06:29there is
06:31a specific
06:32focus as well
06:33by Brussels
06:33this is slightly
06:34on the downside
06:35probably of the report
06:36with the focus
06:37from Brussels
06:38coming regarding
06:39the issue
06:39of corruption
06:40now what I want
06:41to ask you
06:41is that Albania
06:42is the first country
06:43in the world
06:43to appoint
06:44an AI
06:45as government
06:46minister
06:46specifically
06:47tasked with
06:48fighting corruption
06:50now
06:51would you give us
06:51an update
06:52how is

06:54how is
