Halsey is recovering after a brief hospital visit that followed her November 2 performance in Boston.
The singer, who was in the city for two nights as part of her international Back to Badlands tour, revealed on Instagram Stories that she suffered a “minor medical emergency” shortly after her show at the MGM Music Hall. Despite spending the night in the ER, she assured fans she would still take the stage for her second Boston concert.
“Boston, I’ll be honest — after the show last night I was in the ER until 6 a.m.,” Halsey shared. “It was a minor medical emergency, but I’m totally fine now and ready to rock tonight! If I take things a little slow, that’s why.” She went on to thank the hospital staff, calling them “the best team I’ve ever met.”
The 31-year-old artist has previously spoken about her ongoing health struggles. In 2022, she revealed that she was diagnosed with systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) and a rare T-cell lymphoproliferative disorder, both of which are now in remission or being managed. “These are conditions I’ll likely live with for the rest of my life,” she explained in a June 2024 Instagram post. Halsey has also been open about living with endometriosis and experiencing a miscarriage while touring at age 20.
Her recent health scare comes during one of the most successful phases of her career. Her latest album, The Great Impersonator, released in October 2024 through Capitol Records, debuted at No. 2 on both the Billboard 200 and Top Album Sales charts. It also topped Billboard’s Top Rock & Alternative Albums and Top Alternative Albums charts, earning 93,000 equivalent album units in its first week, according to Luminate.
Halsey has previously reached the top of the alternative charts with If I Can’t Have Love, I Want Power (2021) and her debut album Badlands (2015). Over her career, she’s earned 20 entries on the Billboard Hot 100, including two No. 1 hits: “Closer” with The Chainsmokers in 2016 and her solo single “Without Me” in 2019. She’s also achieved multiple top 10 albums on the Billboard 200, cementing her place as one of pop’s most versatile and enduring stars.
