00:00Hello and welcome to this Western Australian Jane's weather update for Friday.
00:04We've got high pressure that is to our south, we've got low pressure out to our east,
00:08so we've got this cold and speckled air that is in through here,
00:11but it's only producing some light showers.
00:13There is a system to our north, but that's hardly getting going today.
00:17Alright, let's have a look day by day, what to expect.
00:19Here is our ridge of high pressure by the end of Friday.
00:23We're starting to see a bit of a trough, so you can see the kink in the grey isobars in through here.
00:28Where we have that kink, if you are to the east of that line, you have the heat.
00:32If you are to the west of that line, you are on the cool side of it.
00:36So that kink in that isobars is very important as we go into summer.
00:39So by the end of Friday, it is in through here.
00:43Have a look at Saturday, the remains of that wet weather just in through there.
00:46Here is our kink in the isobars running right down the coast.
00:49I'll explain what this means when we have a look at our Perth temperature, so you'll see it in action.
00:54But just keep an eye on where it is for now.
00:55So here's our hot air, shown by the red lines there, hardly any wet weather.
01:00Have a look at Sunday, there is our kink right on the coast.
01:03Here is our hot air.
01:05We've got this one building that is up in through here, nowhere near the southwest.
01:09Have a look at Monday, this starts to come down, but it's like there is a line in the sand where it cannot actually travel any further south than that.
01:16And again, here is our kink, it is right on the coastline in through there.
01:19So no wet weather, that is staying to the north.
01:22Have a look at Tuesday, it is still in the north and it's spreading eastwards.
01:25This one isn't coming down to us here and the kink is still here by the end of Tuesday.
01:30By Wednesday, things look quite different.
01:32A lot of activity out ahead of this weather system here, but there is no longer a kink along the coast there.
01:37We have seen that kink move inland.
01:40So that kink in the isobars is now in through here.
01:42That's where the trough line is.
01:44So it is cool on the other side of that by later on Wednesday.
01:47So Wednesday is when we get that change come through.
01:50Have a look at Thursday.
01:51All of that is moving eastwards.
01:53So we're missing it in the southwest corner.
01:55And by Friday, it is out in through here.
01:58All right.
01:58So what might that add up to?
02:00If you're in any of these areas, it's hit and miss showers and thunderstorms directly under a storm.
02:04It is going to bring a heavy fall.
02:06But in the southwest corner here, we're not likely to see a lot from any of these systems that are coming through.
02:11OK, so day by day in Perth, we've got a cool start.
02:14We're going to about 24.
02:16There is a bit of cloud that clears out to sunshine.
02:19Saturday, temperatures rising 27, 29 by Sunday.
02:24Monday, we're in the low 30s.
02:25Tuesday, we're in the low 30s.
02:27Have a look at these wind directions.
02:29See how all of that is coming from inland.
02:31So it is an easterly wind that brings a heat.
02:34That's why we can warm up as we move through.
02:37But by the end of Tuesday, it is southerly.
02:40Now, having a look at Wednesday, here's when the real change comes through.
02:43Still an easterly in the morning.
02:45But that's a gusty southwesterly by the afternoon.
02:48So that is when the cool change actually arrives.
02:51And it is bright sunshine.
02:52It doesn't bring any wet weather with it.
02:54So it's back down to 22 by next Thursday and the same for Friday.
02:58So temperatures keep going up and up each and every day.
03:01And the change comes through during the middle of Wednesday.
03:04As always, have a look at far more online weather for the latest.
