00:00This project has exceeded expectations.
00:04Just take one look at it.
00:05It's a wide community aspect.
00:08It's got something for everyone.
00:09It's got the younger kids, it's got the older kids, they can kick the ball along here.
00:13But importantly, it continues to make sure we recognise the service and sacrifice of
00:19our World War II veterans.
00:21That's what the bowl's all about.
00:23It's a playground with history.
00:26We've got plaques there telling you about what happened in Albury during the period 1939-45.
00:31You know, trenches, rationing, lights out at night, Albury need to know what happened in
00:38that period of time.
00:39Oh, it's quite, when I first came up here a few years ago with Graeme, we walked around
00:43and it was pretty dilapidated and in poor shape and we both thought, well, it's not good enough.
00:49And I think again, as a community, we just can't forget.
00:52We can't forget how we got here and I think it's important for us all to have those
00:56memories and understand the sacrifice, the people that passed, the people that were injured
01:00and certainly the families that had to support them during that period.
01:04And it's something as a country we forget.
01:06I think too often we cannot afford to forget that because that's what makes us who we are.
