00:00William must appear cruel to save the monarchy.
00:04The pressure is on Prince William to be harsh toward Prince Andrew, as his uncle's reputation
00:08continues to decline.
00:10It was rumored that Prince William threatened Princess Eugenie and Princess Beatrice with
00:14stripping away their titles if they didn't push Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson to vacate
00:19the Royal Lodge.
00:20I am told that this rumor is categorically untrue, but even if this particular bit of
00:25the story has been misrepresented, there is no doubt that William is a tougher nut than
00:30his father, writer A. N. Wilson said via Daily Mail.
00:34And it is no longer a matter of choice, he must be tough, A. N. Wilson continued.
00:40Indeed, if he is to save the monarchy, he must even appear to be cruel.
00:44Prince Andrew's ties to Jeffrey Epstein continue to bring negative attention to the monarchy.
00:49Unless Andrew can be persuaded to banish himself to a cottage on the Balmoral Estate or a cushy
00:54villa on a Dubai golf course, his scowly-jowly visage will keep seeping back into the national
00:59consciousness.
01:00Royal expert Tina Brown wrote in a Substack post, King Charles III recently stripped his
01:06brother of all of his titles, and he must move out of the Royal Lodge.
01:10His Majesty has today initiated a formal process to remove the style, titles and honors of Prince
01:15Andrew, the palace said in the statement.
01:18Prince Andrew will now be known as Andrew Mountbatten, Windsor.
01:22His lease on Royal Lodge has, to date, provided him with legal protection to continue in residence.
01:27Formal notice has now been served to surrender the lease, and he will move to alternative
01:31private accommodation.
01:32These censures are deemed necessary, notwithstanding the fact that he continues to deny the allegations
01:38against him.
01:39The palace stated, their Majesties wish to make clear that their thoughts and utmost sympathies
01:44have been, and will remain with, the victims and survivors of any and all forms of abuse.
