00:00Take a look at these two baseball team logos and try to work out the difference.
00:06They're quite similar, aren't they?
00:07Well, they're not from the same team.
00:09In fact, they're not even from the same country.
00:12One is the logo of the CTBC Brothers, which is one of Taiwan's oldest baseball club,
00:17and the other is that of the Shanghai Brothers,
00:20a team that's set to play in China's new baseball league set to debut next year.
00:25Taiwan's baseball commissioner says the league knew of the suspected plagiarism half a year ago,
00:31and it's asking CTBC for an explanation.
00:46The company that manages the CTBC Brothers responded,
00:50saying that neither the team nor the company knew about this.
00:53If there is any infringement, the company will take action.
00:57The company then said that it prioritizes its interests and fans in Taiwan.
01:02The CTBC Brothers are not the only ones dealing with potential plagiarism cases.
01:07People on the internet have pointed out that all five team logos introduced in the new Chinese league seem copied.
01:13For example, the Sun Sun Blue Sox logo is like the American Boston Red Sox ball club,
01:18while the Xiamin Dolphins logo bears similarities to the American football Miami Dolphins franchise.
01:25With collaboration claims now off the table,
01:28it seems the only two possibilities left are either plagiarism or sheer coincidence.
