00:01Despite the internal turmoil which has led to calls for a change of leadership,

00:05Brasatu will not suffer the same fate as UMNO splinter parties around at 46,

00:09which ended up being dissolved, say analysts.

00:12University Technology Malaysia's Mazlan Ali said that Brasatu,

00:16despite facing internal turmoil and leadership disputes,

00:19still maintains its relevance and strength within Malaysia's political landscape.

00:23However, Mazlan cautioned that the party could collapse if it suffers a major defeat in the next general election,

00:29or if its alliance with PAS falls apart.

00:34UMNO Supreme Council Member Pouad Zarkashi mocked Brasatu's internal crisis,

00:38hoping that the party would collapse and its members would return to UMNO, as Samangat 46 once did.

00:44Samangat 46, founded by Tunku Razali Hamza in 1988 after losing to Dr. Mahathir Mohamad in the UMNO presidential race,

00:52failed to challenge UMNO in two general elections and was eventually dissolved, with its members rejoining UMNO.

00:58Meanwhile, Academy Nusantara's Azmi Hassan said that despite clashes between party president Muhyiddin Yassin and his deputy Hamza Zainuddin,

01:07both leaders still need each other and the party could survive through compromise.
