00:00Before the court was sentencing, the defendant was convicted by jury on October 9th, 2025.

00:07In count 1, the defendant was convicted of second-degree murder of Cyndiana Santangelo

00:12in violation of penal code section 187, subdivision A.

00:17In count 2, the defendant was convicted of practicing medicine without a certificate

00:21in violation of business and professions code section 2052, subdivision A.

00:26On this count, the jury also found true the special allegation

00:30that the defendant personally inflicted gray bodily injury on the victim.

00:36In summary, the facts introduced in the trial showed the victim,

00:40who sought to enhance the appearance of her buttocks,

00:43contacted the defendant who was known in Los Angeles area community

00:47of those seeking cosmetic enhancements for her services.

00:51On March 24, 2025, the defendant went to the home of Cyndiana Santangelo to perform her services.

01:00There, the defendant injected silicon oil into the buttocks of the victim,

01:04who, while the defendant was present, began to have difficulty breathing.

01:09Unbeknownst to the victim, the silicon oil had migrated from the injection site to the bloodstream.

01:15The victim's circulatory system thereafter moved the silicon oil into her lungs,

01:21which prevented the lungs from obtaining oxygen for the body, which led to her death.
