00:00We are now approaching the longest shutdown in American history.
00:04Democrats' fault.
00:05Under your presidency, we're talking about more than a million federal workers who are not getting a paycheck,
00:11including our air traffic controllers.
00:13You see there's traffic snarls out at the airports now.
00:16This weekend, food aid for more than 42 million Americans is set to expire.
00:22What are you doing as president to end the shutdown?
00:26Well, what we're doing is we keep voting.
00:28I mean, the Republicans are voting almost unanimously to end it, and the Democrats keep voting against ending it.
00:35You know, they've never had this.
00:36This has happened like 18 times before.
00:38The Democrats always voted for an extension, always saying, give us an extension.
00:43We'll work it out.
00:44They've lost their way.
00:45They've become crazed lunatics.
00:48And all they have to do, Nora, is say, let's vote.
00:52Senate Democrats say they will vote to reopen the government if Republicans agree to extend subsidies
00:58for over 20 million Americans who use Obamacare for their health insurance.
01:05Obamacare is terrible.
01:07It's bad health care at far too high a price.
01:10We should fix that.
01:11We should fix it.
01:12And we can fix it with the Democrats.
01:15All they have to do is let the country open, and we'll fix it.
01:18They have to let the country open, and I'll sit down with the Democrats, and we'll fix it.
01:23But they have to let the country.
01:25And you know what they have to do?
01:26All they have to do is raise five hands.
01:28We don't need all of them.
01:28But so you're saying your plan is to tell the Democrats to vote to end the shutdown.
01:34Correct.
01:34Very simple.
01:35And that you will put forward a health care plan?
01:38No.
01:38We will work on fixing the bad health care that we have right now.
01:41We have terrible health care at too expensive for the people.
01:44Not for the government, for the people.
01:46But, Mr. President, with all due respect, you've been talking about fixing the health care insurance
01:50since 2015.
01:51Sure, and you can't do it because of the Democrats.
01:52But since 2015, you've said you'd fix it.
01:54I've been talking about it for a long time.
01:55We almost did it.
01:56We were one vote short.
01:57We would have had great health care.
01:59That was in 2017 when Senate Republicans failed by one vote
02:04to partially repeal Obamacare.
02:07We can make it much less expensive for people and give them much better health care.
02:12But where is that plan?
02:12And I'd be willing to work with the Democrats on it.
02:15The problem is they want to give money to prisoners, to drug dealers,
02:20to all these millions of people that were allowed to come in with an open border from Biden,
02:26and nobody can do that.
02:27Not one Republican would ever do that.
02:30My understanding is if those health care subsidies are not extended,
02:34premiums will double for many of the people that are on it.
02:37And I was looking into it.
02:38Three quarters of these people will see their health care premiums double.
02:42Live in states where you won in the last election.
02:46I mean, even here in Florida has the highest number of residents on Obamacare in the country.
02:51And I'm saying we can fix it, Nora.
02:53All right.
