00:00If you want to live this lifestyle here in the north, you have to be able to hunt, to trap, to fish.
00:10Oh yeah, I got a fish!
00:13You can make your own clothes, you can eat, you can do everything if you have the skills for that.
00:20Traditions is an extremely important thing, and being on the land is a tradition.
00:25But living up here takes a lot of effort, a lot of it.
00:38It's hard to do everything by yourself.
00:41Okay.
00:42The thing with living in a remote place alone is that if something happens, no one knows.
00:49God, the nearest hospital is hours away.
00:50One of the things I love about this lifestyle is, if I can imagine it, I can create it.
00:58Oh yeah, I like it.
01:03We've built this together.
01:05We've really turned this place into a family home.
01:09Whoa!
01:11It's done.
01:13This life I want, it's like a dream home.
01:16I'm dreaming about exploring.
01:21I'm dreaming about what's next.
01:24It was on this Monday morning, and it ate me calm and fine.
01:35For the harbour race excursion, for the boys to have a time.
01:39And just as a sailor pulled a gangway from the pier,
01:42I watched a fella pull me off a board of volunteer.
01:46Oh me, oh my, I heard me always cry.
01:50Oh me, oh my.
01:51It's hard not to be happy.
01:54A whole new boat, a whole new dream.
01:57There's a whole house out here on an island.
02:00It's a whole new thing.
02:07Growing up in Newfoundland, it's an island in the North Atlantic.
02:11So you're always surrounded by the ocean.
02:14And the draw of the ocean, and the draw to live near that,
02:17I guess it's just part of my heritage and something I want to go back to.
02:20So, I bought this old house on Little Island, hold access only.
02:26What a beautiful sight.
02:31Anyone with, you know, two cents in their head would look at this thing and say,
02:34throw the match to it.
02:36But even though it looks like a rotten down tub to most,
02:39go see the house.
02:40It's a dream come true.
02:42It really is.
02:42Oh yeah, look at her run.
02:48She's shining, baby.
02:54There she is.
02:55What a beautiful, beautiful diamond in the rough.
02:58This isn't a cabin like I got up in John's pond, up in the woods.
03:03Something I built myself.
03:05This house itself is over 100 years old, and it's just steeped in history.
03:09Don't get me wrong, I love my cabin.
03:12Come around.
03:14Oh yeah.
03:15But, I want to call this place home and have a life revolving around boats and the tides
03:22and the currents.
03:24That's real Newfoundland.
03:25This is a traditional Newfoundland salt box built back in the day by old fishermen.
03:34This was a thriving community.
03:36There was over 200 families on this island that one time.
03:39And this house and this house beside me are the only two originalists here.
03:44Everything else is gone.
03:45That's why it's got to be saved.
03:47I was here this summer and went through it.
03:50But, with my optimistic eyes, like I'm an over-optimist, I definitely didn't remember being this bad.
04:03I actually bought this cabin sight unseen.
04:06There it is.
04:08I bought this off two grainy old pictures, just off the cuff, and as soon as I seen the old picture of this place, I fell in love.
04:15Oh my God, this is cute.
04:16So when I got here, I seen the whole thing of rose-colored glasses, and you just see this historic, beautiful salt box home on this little hill, just waiting to come back to life.
04:26First look.
04:28Oh no.
04:30It's wet.
04:31Roof is leaking.
04:35F*** though, it's water damage or not, it's a real little house.
04:40Right now, the way the house is, the rose-colored glasses are down a little bit.
04:48And I'm definitely all in on this thing.
04:51It was a stretch for me to be able to buy, even though it was a deal.
04:54And I'm at a point in my life where I really want to set those roots, and not just have a cabin in the woods, but a real home to set my life up in.
05:04So I'm fully invested, just now going back at this point.
05:07This is really the only thing I did this summer, trying to keep some rain out.
05:18But I'm worried about the wind coming in here, getting inside the house here, and just taking this whole wall and just ripping it right off the house.
05:26F*** me.
05:28Have a look on the inside.
05:34This here is a master squeeze.
05:37Sometimes I wonder where I get these crazy dreams, that's for sure.
05:42A lot of people will consider this a nightmare to have to repair this.
05:53It's a little overwhelming how much work is here, because this place is shagged.
05:58And really the only way to save her is this whole wall is going to come down, tear it right off.
06:04This place is so remote.
06:05I'm the only human around for thousands of square kilometers.
06:25It's pretty much just pure forest, and wildlife, and mountains, and me.
06:34So last year my main goal was to build that cabin, which worked out pretty good.
06:47And this year I really want to focus on trapping and make more trails and just go way further into the territory.
06:54So this year I brought a dove team with me and I'm going to be traveling with dogs, which is going to be way more efficient.
07:02I had to fly everybody in, because the strapline is so remote that I couldn't just get here on a sled.
07:09There is no trail access, there is nothing, so we had to fly in together.
07:14We all had to come by bush plane, so that was a big, big adventure for them.
07:29They've never been in a plane, but it went pretty smooth.
07:37But we made it and they're pretty happy.
07:42I like it so far here.
07:45Yes, I love you too.
07:50These dogs are Alaskan Huskies.
07:52They're completely adapted to this environment and this kind of weather.
07:57But even though these dogs are Nordic dogs and they're used to the cold, they still need shelter to protect them from the elements.
08:07No, we're not going inside now.
08:10Right now it's technically fall, but there's lots of snow already.
08:14And when I got here, it was minus 40.
08:18It was a huge transition for the dogs, because the last couple of weeks were not that cold.
08:24So I need to get dog houses built as soon as possible.
08:27I'm not going to do a fancy building for that.
08:33I just want something airtight, a good roof, a small door so there's not too much heat getting out.
08:41And it should be good.
08:43Come here.
08:47Oh, happy dogs.
08:51This extreme cold weather got me off guard.
08:53It's not that cold that early usually.
08:56But that's how it is here.
08:59Weather is pretty unpredictable.
09:02So I have to deal with it and find a way to get this done.
09:07The logs are pretty frozen right now, so the mail doesn't stick as much.
09:12I didn't grow up in cold temperatures at all.
09:17In France, the winters are pretty mild.
09:19So it was new for me when I moved up north.
09:24And I never had dogs growing up.
09:27My parents are not really dog lovers at all.
09:30But I'm making up for it now.
09:40That's it.
09:41Little mini cabins for doggies.
09:44This one just took a couple hours compared to this one that took a couple months.
09:51And I just have to do seven more of these and it should be good.
09:57I feel really responsible for these dogs.
10:00I have to make sure they're safe and they're happy.
10:05It's not just about taking care of myself.
10:08There's nine of us here now.
10:22This land has been in my family for four generations.
10:26Tradition is just special to me.
10:30Old, old, old.
10:36But at the same time, there's something inside me that's pushing forward all the time.
10:42Everything is rotten here.
10:44It's like, oof!
10:48I don't feel safe anymore in this cabin because of the roof.
10:52It can collapse this winter, okay, from the heavy snowfall.
10:55So, the roof is done.
10:59I need to change it.
11:01And I've got to do it now.
11:03Because maybe in a few weeks, the snow will come and winter will be here.
11:07I guess I'm gonna stop from the inside.
11:16There's dust everywhere.
11:30It was hard to breathe.
11:31Okay, so change of plan.
11:32I've got to do it from the outside.
11:33And it's high up, man.
11:34Living off grid here, you need plan A, plan B, plan C sometimes.
11:37You have to be creative.
11:38I'm always learning.
11:39I'm always experimenting new thing.
11:43And I have to do it.
11:45If I don't, it's not possible to live in this home.
11:53The couch is done.
11:56I'm just going to play next week.
11:58And I have to do it.
12:00If I don't, it's not possible to live in this home.
12:08And if the couch starts by celebrating like this,
12:11The cuts is done, I'm just going to put the chain into the big hole there,
12:16and I'm hoping everything will just come off the roof.
12:22So that's the plan.
12:24Hopefully this one is going to work, otherwise I don't know what I'm going to do.
12:28I'm going to cry in the woods.
12:37All righty, this is a good job.
12:41This is very stressful, actually.
12:48The first one is always the worst.
13:05Come on!
13:07I'm out of here.
13:10Oh!
13:11I'm out of here.
13:14Come on!
13:18It's stuck there.
13:22It's stuck there.
13:26It's stuck there.
13:27It's stuck there.
13:28Yeah!
13:29It's stuck there.
13:31It's gone.
13:32Snowshoes?
13:41Snowshoes.
13:44Right now we're in the fall months.
13:47The snow just came about three days ago.
13:51Coming up, the river's going to freeze.
13:55We're going to be able to go hunting soon.
13:58So right now's the right time to start building a cache.
14:01Are you good?
14:03Oh yeah.
14:04The food cache is very important because we're hoping to get some caribou.
14:09We want to be able to store it up there, away from the elements and away from the animals as well.
14:17You've got to cover your head because there's going to be a lot of snow falling.
14:27Our homestead is a work in progress.
14:29We have so many ideas and dreams for this place.
14:35Living off the land.
14:36Nice.
14:37We got a rabbit.
14:39And teaching our kids traditional bush skills.
14:41Pick it up and smack it down.
14:44Yes!
14:45A food cache is going to be new for me and I love learning.
14:51I'd like to take this.
14:52Okay.
14:53I'll start taking branches off of this one.
14:55All right.
14:56Back away from my tree, man.
14:58All right.
14:59I'll do this one.
15:00See?
15:00How far up?
15:06Just here.
15:08Okay.
15:10Polar bears.
15:11They can't get up here because they don't know how to climb.
15:14But anything else, they can still get it.
15:16But we're going to put metal containers and then we'll put a lid on it.
15:20All right.
15:20Because we've got really smart animals around here, like wolverines.
15:28So we need four posts.
15:30We have three already.
15:32Natural trees.
15:33And then the other one's going to go right here.
15:35Do you have a gun nearby?
15:49Yep.
15:50Where is it?
15:50Right there.
15:51Okay, good.
15:53It's a little bit iffy for polar bears.
15:57Usually they go out into the Hudson Bay to go hunt.
16:01Like a month ago, they would have done that a month ago.
16:03But this year, the ice froze too late.
16:08Scary, too.
16:08The ones that starve.
16:10And they just want to kill, you know?
16:12Yeah.
16:12Eat.
16:14This is what happened to my uncle.
16:16He was target shooting.
16:17Luckily, he was reloading his rifle.
16:20And it's charged at him.
16:21It was a polar bear.
16:23And he shot it.
16:24Mm-hmm.
16:24Just wanted to eat.
16:28Running into a polar bear,
16:30that threat is always there.
16:35And I know it's not the best thing to do,
16:37but I just think about that all the time.
16:39And...
16:40About this old abandoned house.
16:53She's a ticking time bomb,
16:56and she could fall apart at any moment,
16:57or any gust of good wind.
17:00So there's no time to waste.
17:02I just want to save her as quick as possible.
17:11This is pretty rough around here.
17:14I mean, you can't even stand up there
17:15without coming through the floor, so...
17:17This needs to be reinforced in here
17:19before we can tear this wall off.
17:24If we didn't put these supports in,
17:26once we take the whole front of the house off,
17:29this will just be hanging in the wind.
17:31And this will just sag right down or snap off.
17:34Who knows?
17:34So it's just temporary for now
17:36to hold everything in place.
17:37There's deathly concern
17:44in this whole place falling down.
17:47If you were in the city,
17:48you'd be wearing a hard hat right now,
17:50and a safety inspector
17:51would have this place shut down so quick.
17:56I have no desire to have a house in the city.
17:58To have a house like this,
18:00remote on an old island,
18:02that's my kind of real estate.
18:04It's a lot more than just
18:05fixing up an old house.
18:06It's trying to preserve a way of life
18:08from my people, where I come from.
18:11And it's dying fast.
18:18All right, that's looking good.
18:20It's basically, instead of using a jack,
18:23every smack we're pushing the roof
18:24up higher and higher.
18:26She's coming up.
18:29As you can see,
18:30that's how much we've come up already.
18:36Something went wrong there.
18:40That's all right.
18:41We're going to maintain
18:42with the traditional building technique,
18:44which is zero measuring tools,
18:46just get it done with scraps and stones
18:48and stick it together.
18:50Wow, it's off.
18:57Oof.
19:02Oh, my God.
19:05I mean, we're leveling this up,
19:07but I can already tell,
19:08but let's not come square.
19:10There's a big hollow here on the floor.
19:12The thing I'm going to have to do
19:13is go underneath right here,
19:14jack up the floor a little bit,
19:16square up the rest of the house,
19:17if that makes sense.
19:20We'll see.
19:24I don't mind a lot of things,
19:26but something about crawling
19:29underneath this old house
19:30and so tight down there
19:31really does make you feel
19:34a little bit uneasy.
19:36Just going to have to do it, I guess.
19:37I don't know.
19:40We're a long way from the hospital.
19:47I really like my solitude in the bush.
20:01It's just your little world.
20:05But, uh...
20:06Sometimes you can get lonely.
20:08So...
20:09Okay, come on.
20:11It's nice to have company.
20:13Gates, Wolf, come on, guys.
20:16Okay, come in.
20:17Come in.
20:18Oh, good boy.
20:24I place the dog houses
20:26around the cabin
20:27so I can keep an eye on them
20:29and hear them at night.
20:34There's a lot of wolf activity
20:36around here
20:37and I want to keep them close.
20:39So, is that comfy?
20:41It would break my heart
20:42if something would happen.
20:44They're my best friends
20:45and my kids.
20:46Go back to sleep, bud.
20:48And I take care of these dogs
20:50but they also take care of me
20:52because it's been a dream
20:54for a very, very long time
20:55to be able to trap
20:57with my sled dogs
20:58and those dogs are my only way
21:01to get me to the places
21:03I need to go.
21:07Wolves hate having other canine around.
21:09They will come check it out
21:11either by curiosity
21:12or just getting rid of the competition.
21:16Last year,
21:17when I was building the cabin,
21:20I had to shoot one
21:21right next six yards
21:22from my tent.
21:24So, of course,
21:25there's wolves around
21:26and I want to be careful.
21:30Right now,
21:31I have half of the dogs free
21:32and half of the dogs tied up.
21:34Oh, good girl!
21:36What were you?
21:39Some of the dogs,
21:39I don't trust them
21:40fully loose around the cabin
21:42because I know
21:42they would run pretty far away
21:44from the cabin.
21:45I'm scared because
21:47I have traps set up
21:48and I don't want them
21:49to be caught and hurt.
21:55So, that's why
21:56I want to build a pen here.
21:59So, for the dogs
22:00that I can't have fully loose,
22:02they will be loose in the pen
22:03and I know the wolves
22:05won't be able to get to them
22:06if they come sneak around
22:07and they can play
22:09and be chain-free, you know?
22:15Okay.
22:21Bacchae, come here.
22:23Bacchae, come on, stop it.
22:26Bacchae is a bro digger
22:28and spends probably
22:29like 22 hours every day
22:31to dig holes everywhere.
22:38Working in the gold
22:39is challenging.
22:41Everything takes more time,
22:43more effort.
22:45The tree is frozen.
22:48But, you can't let
22:49the cold stop you.
22:51There are so many things
22:52that need to be done
22:53you can't stop.
23:00That's it.
23:00I can try to break dogs in
23:02and see if it works.
23:05Come on, guys.
23:07Come in.
23:08Oh, good boys.
23:10Michael, you ready, man?
23:13You're going to be nice.
23:14Good boys.
23:15Come on, yummy.
23:18Oh, I know you want to escape.
23:19I don't trust you.
23:22Woo-hoo!
23:25Hey, bud.
23:27You guys liking it?
23:30Oh, they're cute.
23:32You know, it's pee all over the place now.
23:35Last one.
23:38Bacchae, come here.
23:40Come here, Bacchae.
23:41Bacchae, come here, bud.
23:48Bacchae is always loose.
23:50Hey, guys.
23:51Where is Bacchae?
23:52But, uh,
23:53usually he's following me everywhere,
23:55so I'm not sure where he is right now.
23:59Bacchae, come on, buddy.
24:00I'm wondering if you took off further than usual.
24:07It makes me so worried because of wolves around
24:09and all the traps I have.
24:12If you get caught in a trap,
24:13you would definitely be hurt or be killed
24:18if it's a big conny bear trap.
24:19So, yeah, it's not good.
24:26Come on, bud.
24:39Everything you do for the first time, it's hard.
24:43But I'm just scared of failing because I'm learning.
24:46Oh, man, come on!
24:51Bacchae.
24:54It doesn't work.
24:56It's still stuck there.
25:09Whoa!
25:12Oh!
25:13The roof is farting down inside.
25:16I'm gonna try to lift it up.
25:19Put some shingle on the knees
25:21to make it slide better
25:23because now,
25:24if the roof goes down inside,
25:27I am f***ed.
25:33Oh, yeah.
25:35Okay, at least the roof is going hot.
25:40Okay.
25:41What I have to do now,
25:44put a pulley over there
25:45so it's gonna pull upward
25:48and not downward.
25:50I really want to make it done before it gets dark.
25:59Sometimes some work can be overwhelming.
26:02I am the only person on this instead.
26:03I am the only person on this instead.
26:05So the job needs to be done by me.
26:07There is a responsibility to it
26:08and also there is a pressure.
26:09Okay.
26:10If it doesn't work, you know,
26:11I'll have to cut it in pieces.
26:12You know, that's a lot of work though.
26:14Oh, man, that's...
26:26Yeah, let's do it.
26:31Yeah, let's do it.
26:35Oh, come on!
26:51I'm very disappointed now.
27:01Oh.
27:03Maybe I have an idea.
27:07Butter!
27:09It's here.
27:13Something's stuck here.
27:16It wasn't completely cut.
27:19Oh, yeah!
27:28That side is completely free.
27:3420 minutes.
27:36Sun left.
27:49Whoa-ho!
27:54Whoa-ho!
27:56Let's go!
27:57Come on, come on, come on!
27:59Whoa-ho-ho-ho!
28:06They're just busy!
28:09Hey!
28:10You're just 10 minutes to sunset.
28:13Oh, that one's set. Oh, man.
28:19Oh, that was a big job.
28:21Whoo!
28:32Are you ready?
28:34Ready.
28:36The word for a cache in Cree is a .
28:39Lift.
28:41And knowing Gilbert, he'll probably want to go big.
28:45This project here is the best project for me
28:48because when I was growing up,
28:49he used to make three houses.
28:51And this reminds me of that.
28:56Let me know when you're ready.
28:58Yeah, right there, yeah.
29:00Slowly.
29:06Okay, nice.
29:08All right, now just hold it.
29:09Okay.
29:10I'll hold it.
29:11Uh, Gilbert?
29:12Hmm?
29:13How do we take down this rope?
29:14No, we just leave it.
29:15Yeah?
29:16Yeah.
29:17Okay.
29:20So I guess we'll work on the main beams, eh?
29:22Yeah, main beams first.
29:23We don't need to go buy any lumber for this project.
29:33This is just as traditional as it gets,
29:37other than maybe the nails we're going to be using
29:39and these hatches.
29:44Am I doing the holding or am I doing the nailing?
29:46Nailing?
29:47Nailing.
29:48I'm doing the nailing?
29:49Okay.
29:50I'll do the nailing.
29:55I can't imagine.
29:58Okay.
30:01Gilbert?
30:02Hmm?
30:03Didn't we say we were putting it on the inside?
30:05Yeah, it doesn't matter.
30:06Because we're going to lay these other ones here.
30:08Okay.
30:09But then what was the point of putting these up?
30:11Oh, yeah.
30:12Maybe the long ones need to sit on top of these at this.
30:15Yeah.
30:16Yeah.
30:17That's true.
30:18We adapt and change as we go.
30:21We've been doing that since we had kids.
30:23So we're used to it.
30:25We're like experts.
30:26Yeah.
30:27Yeah.
30:31Let's try to finish this now before the sun goes down.
30:37You want to try it?
30:39Very nice.
30:41Maybe I should do this while you get logs.
30:43No way.
30:44Give that back to me.
30:5420 of these and they're finished?
30:58Yeah.
30:59It's a fairly straightforward, simple project,
31:02but it's a lot of work to get to that.
31:05You know, it's easy to say we'll just take down poles
31:08and get the poles going,
31:10but you also have to haul them, strip them, hammer them.
31:18Good?
31:19Yeah.
31:20It's starting to look like a cache.
31:25Alright, last one.
31:27Wow.
31:32Yeah.
31:33The height is good and it looks fairly straight, eh?
31:35Yep.
31:36Go on top of it now.
31:37Mmm.
31:38Do they?
31:39Uh, no.
31:42I really don't like heights,
31:43and right now my arms are sore.
31:46I'm cold.
31:48I will come up tomorrow when there's more brace.
31:54Sometimes there's risks that you need to take,
31:58and this isn't one of them.
32:00As soon as you look under here, you can really see that they just used whatever they had.
32:18Looks like there's an old wooden toolbox down here holding up the house for God's sakes.
32:23It is certainly sketchy.
32:24It would not be fun to have this thing fall on your head.
32:28Especially this far out in the woods.
32:29My God, they really didn't care about safety one bit back in the day.
32:38Let me get this done and get the hell out.
32:42Pull those wedges out, scares the hell out of me.
32:44Crazy to think that at some time this house was sagging,
32:49that some guy crawled in here, put a toolbox down it,
32:53and then a bunch of little rocks and scraps of wood called it good.
32:58Yeah, that's an old toolbox.
33:03Really, this whole foundation is just a lot of jack work.
33:06And you can't do it all at once.
33:07If you do it all at once, the house would crack in half.
33:09You need to just inch her up over the weeks and over the months
33:12until eventually she's nice and level.
33:15Yeah, good as new.
33:17Ready for a dance floor.
33:19But right now I'm happy with just getting her
33:21square enough to try and get my framing in.
33:37The work here, it's all dictated by modern nature.
33:41Rain is coming in two days.
33:45Rain can destroy floor of my cabin, the interior.
33:50So today I need the trust to be on the roof.
33:53on the roof.
34:02No, no, no.
34:04Yeah.
34:05Awkward.
34:08All right.
34:09Yeah, these are pretty heavy, like we'll say like 60 to 80 pounds.
34:15So, pretty awkward and heavy to lift it up.
34:23Looking back 20 years ago when I finished to build the roof,
34:26the roof.
34:28My dad said, you know, I should put trusses on.
34:30And I told him, you know, that I didn't want to.
34:32I really wanted to do it my way.
34:36And now I've got real truss.
34:39All right.
34:41This is the way my father wanted me to do it.
34:44Thank you, Kai.
34:46My dad passed away about, yeah, three years ago.
34:50Oh!
34:52But I'm pretty sure, you know, if dad would be back,
34:55he would be very pleased, you know, that I'd finally listen to him.
34:57What a beautiful day.
35:08Oh, man, I love when everything goes fine.
35:12You know, I'm just trying to do my best to make sure everything...
35:16It's right.
35:17Anger or joy.
35:30Nothing is permanent.
35:33Changes is part of life.
35:36And we have to add them.
35:42They have no choice.
35:43It's about at least 10 feet.
35:53So, oh yeah, I can hurt myself very much here.
36:00There we go.
36:04It's heavier than I thought, as always.
36:09Thank you, baby.
36:11You can do that.
36:14When I talk to myself when I'm kind of scary...
36:17Oh, right.
36:19Oh, man.
36:21It's a good way, you know, to breathe.
36:25Yeah!
36:26And I'm more in control.
36:28Compared to just...
36:29You know, I'm so happy, but I'm just tired.
36:30I just want a beer and a good bed.
36:31I push myself...
36:32I'm so happy, but I'm just tired.
36:33I just want a beer and a good bed.
36:34I push myself...
36:35I'm so happy.
36:36I just want a beer and a good bed.
36:37I push myself today.
36:38I'm so happy, but I'm just tired.
36:43So far, I've been self-sufficient here.
36:44I've been doing a lot of work.
36:45I'm so happy.
36:46I'm so happy, but I'm just tired.
36:47I just want a beer and a good bed.
36:49I push myself today.
36:50So far, I've been self-sufficient here.
36:51I've been doing a lot of things by myself, and it worked.
36:54But right now, because of the weather, I need help, just to make sure the job will be done
37:21fast, but also safely.
37:23All right.
37:24Be careful, man.
37:25Almost there.
37:26I asked a friend to a friend, Jeremy, to help me out.
37:30So, does it fit?
37:31Yeah.
37:32Yeah?
37:33Okay, cool.
37:34And we're going to make it done today.
37:43I'm so glad we are two, though.
37:50It's a relief, actually.
37:52It feels so much stress, you know, lately, doing everything myself.
37:56For now, it's just, wow, a lot of weight off my shoulder.
37:59I didn't quite beat the rain, but it's almost there.
38:06Yeah.
38:07Yeah.
38:08This place is so important to me.
38:13It's like I belong to this place.
38:16So, I'm glad I did it right.
38:17I'm glad I did it right.
38:18These past couple of days, it's been fairly warm, but today it's gotten pretty cold.
38:23North wind is really picking up.
38:24It's cold, eh?
38:2510 degrees is a big difference, right?
38:26Yeah, it's crazy how much the colder weather really changes the way you work.
38:32It's a gig.
38:33It's a gig.
38:34The nails are really cold.
38:35The nails are really cold.
38:36The metal's cold.
38:37It's a gig.
38:38It's a gig.
38:39It's more lovable.
38:40It's cold.
38:41It's a gig.
38:42It's a gig.
38:43It's a gig.
38:44It's a gig.
38:45It's a gig.
38:46It's a gig.
38:47It's a gig.

38:49It's a gig.
38:50It's a gig.
38:51It's a gig.
38:52It's a gig.
38:53It's a gig.
38:54It's a gig.
38:55It's a gig.
38:56It's a gig.
38:57It's a gig.
38:58It's a gig.
38:59It's a gig.

39:01It's a gig.
39:02It's a gig.
39:03It's a gig.
39:04It's a gig.
39:05It's a gig.
39:06It's a gig.
39:07It's a gig.
39:08It's a gig.
39:09It's a gig.
39:10It's a gig.
39:11you want me to come up to put in an anchor and get a hoist up well yeah you want to do that no but
39:26I should you can have fears but you have to be able to confront them it's really part of living
39:35up here because fears are going to hold you back and it makes you a much stronger person
39:42I'm dropping that it's going to be hard to fire
39:47how much weight do you think this is going to put on it says a thousand pounds right we'll have to test
39:55it oh Gilbert don't fall see oh Gilbert
40:03all right let's test it out this is definitely a nice addition to our homestead because there's
40:13already been a bear that's been around our cabin and they're known to destroy things even things
40:18you wouldn't think about like a gas can for example so being able to put all their stuff up here it's
