00:23According to the charging documents, at approximately 2.33 a.m. on November 1st, surveillance cameras captured two suspects wearing face coverings, walking near the medical school, and lighting what appeared to be a Roman candle fireworks.
00:41Approximately 10 minutes later, the defendants were allegedly seen climbing scaffolding on the side of 220 Longwood Avenue and accessing the roof.
00:49A short time later, campus police were alerted to a fire alarm from an explosion on the fourth floor of the building, which houses a research laboratory for Harvard Medical School's Department of Neurobiology.
01:03Security videos showed the defendants allegedly exiting the building through a first-floor emergency exit and fleeing the area in opposite directions between 12.45 and 2.50 a.m.
01:15Apparently, they were aware that they may have been caught on security footage because they began ditching distinctive items of clothing that they were previously wearing.
01:25According to the charging documents, the explosive, which detonated inside a research laboratory locker, is believed to have been a large commercial firework.
01:35Following the release of the suspect's photos, members of the public called authorities, identifying Cardoza and Patterson as the alleged culprits.
01:43Thanks to a number of principled individuals who did the right thing and called authorities when they recognized Patterson and Cardoza, investigators were able to quickly piece together surveillance videos, comb through evidence, and positively identify them as alleged perpetrators of the charged crime.

02:20But only by sheer luck and because of a rapid response of first responders, no lives were lost, no one was injured, and property damage was limited.
