I DEDICATE MY LIFE TO MONKEY’S – IT’S INTENSE
WITH PIX AND VID
By Shuk Yee Tsang
A devoted animal caregiver has shared a glimpse into his extraordinary daily life raising and caring for a troop of monkeys.
Michael Robison, 45, spends every day tending to 12 spider monkeys, 4 macaques, and 3 marmosets many of whom were rescued or surrendered after living as humanised pets.
His videos show tender moments like bathing young spider monkey, taking them for walks, visiting their human grandparents and letting them play alongside their dog companions.
Despite the exhausting schedule of feeding, cleaning, and maintaining the sanctuary seven days a week, Michael says his connection with the animals keeps him going.
Michael, from Tennessee, USA, said: “We share life with 12 amazing spider monkeys, 4 macaques and 3 marmosets.
"We are a sanctuary for humanised primates, so all of our videos show care, enrichment, and the beautiful relationships we share with each of these beautiful monkeys.
“I’m on the go 24/7 all seven days a week! Wake up at 2:30, gym 3–5am, work 5am to 7pm daily, animals need care 24/7 and maintenance is 7–9pm daily, then 9–10:30 bills, emails, texts, in bed to sleep 10:30pm, rinse and repeat.
“I haven’t had a true vacation in 5 plus years! It’s intense! One thing I learned is to just be.
"Be present, be me, be willing and be ready… good days and bad days. Hold life loose with an open hand. And just flow.
“Life isn’t about convenience or ease. Iit’s about creating, building, and experiencing every moment with presence and purpose!
"Gratitude adjusts the heart and head to move with positive energy every day.”

02:14You know one of the most common questions
02:16that we often get asked is,
02:17what do your monkeys eat every day?
02:19And, of course, the vast majority of their diet
02:21is made up of fruits and vegetables.
02:23Fatty liver, things like that.
02:24So, their diet is about 30% fruit.
02:27And the rest is made up of vegetables,
02:29nuts, meats, proteins, things like that,
02:31that we make sure that they have a healthy balance.
02:33And so, we focus on a whole healthy diet.
02:36And we've seen a vast improvement in their health,
02:39and their attitude, and their behavior
02:42just because they're eating better.
02:45Do you love those puppies?
