00:26made news, we got you sorted. Here's everything that trended in the Korean entertainment industry

00:32this week.

00:40In a landmark judgment, new jeans lost the case against Ardell after the court upheld the exclusive

00:47contract between the band and the agency. The two sides have been embroiled in a legal dispute

00:54since 2024.

00:58In a major win for Ardell, the court ruled out in favour of the label a subsidiary of Hype

01:04against new jeans. On October 30, the court gave out its final verdict in the prolonged

01:10case after almost a year upholding the validity of the exclusive contract with the five-member

01:16girls band. Comprising Minji, Hani, Daniel, Hayran and Haim, the K-pop group has been embroiled

01:23in a major lawsuit with its label Ardell since November 2024 to determine if trust collapse

01:30justifies contract termination in the landmark case. The legal dispute between the two sides

01:36began last year when new jeans held an emergency press conference and accused Ardell of breaching

01:43their contract. The group announced terminating the exclusive contract with the company to

01:49pursue independent activities under a new band name NJZ.

01:53BTS member Jin is set to hold two Encore concerts as part of his Run Sokjin tour. The viral videos

02:03from the soundcheck showed even Jungkook and J-Hope joining him on stage. Take a look.

02:37the venue went viral where one could hear Jin's voice crooning songs like Running Wild, Rope

02:43It and Don't Say You Love Me echoing from inside the stadium during the soundcheck. In fact,

02:50Jungkook singing Standing Next To You and J-Hope rehearsing Killing It Girl were also heard.

02:56The trio was singing BTS track Jamais Wu too, leaving fans sure that there's a lot of surprises

03:03in store for the audience. EXO recently stated that its future activities will be held only by

03:11six members and not include its subunit CBX members Chen, Baekyung and Zhumin.

03:18EXO is currently embroiled in a comeback controversy with its subunit EXO-CBX. In fact, the agencies

03:25of both groups are issuing statements back and forth to justify their stance. The matter pertains

03:31to the involvement of EXO's three members Chen, Baekyung and Zhumin. This comes as EXO gears up

03:38to launch its new album along with embarking on a world tour in the coming months, stating

03:44that its future activities will only be followed by six members. In June 2026, CBX had filed

03:51for an exclusive contract termination with SM Entertainment. Now, SM has taken the decision

03:57to keep CBX away despite the latter's attempts at reuniting with the main group.

04:03EXO's last show, After a photo with her co-star Kim Do Hoon from Vietnam surfaced, leaving netizens

04:14speculating a so-called love-stagram.

04:18EXO has percut curiosity for several reasons including the recent dating rumour between its

04:24between its lead actors Kim Yoo Jung and Kim Do Hoon that sparked major speculation.

04:29Yoo Jung, who plays the female lead, has now broken silence on reports of being in

04:35a relationship with Do Hoon.

04:37During one of the promotional press conferences of the show, Yoo Jung revealed how she and

06:04Korean rapper Dark was arrested over suspicion of marijuana distribution and usage.

06:10The artist has refuted all allegations.

06:15Former Dark has been arrested on suspicion of using and distributing marijuana, according

06:20to a report.

06:21The police confirmed that they executed an arrest warrant for the young rapper, whose real name

06:27is Jin Yulin, this week.

06:29Authorities stated that the 21-year-old artist is currently under investigation for violating

06:35South Korea's Narcotics Control Act, a law that carries severe penalties for both the use and

06:42distribution of illegal substances.

06:45Dark has, however, denied all allegations made against him.

06:49A representative from his agency told local media outlets that a preliminary drug screening

06:55administered to the rapper yielded negative results, indicating no immediate traces of banned

07:01substances.

07:02Lesser Fim's latest single, Spaghetti, featuring BTS member J-Hope, started charting on YouTube

07:10and iTunes in no time.

07:13Here's a report.

07:14J-Hope's freshly-brewed collab Spaghetti with Lesser Fim has started dominating music charts

07:21globally.

07:22Lesser Fim dropped Spaghetti on October 24 and in less than 24 hours of release, the single

07:28crossed 11.8 million views on YouTube.

07:32In fact, it has even shot to the top of iTunes charts in numerous countries around the world.

07:38It hit No. 1 on iTunes' top songs charts in at least 55 different regions, including

07:44Japan, Singapore and France.

07:47Even in a total of 80 regions, it charted, including United States, where it reached No.

07:522, and the United Kingdom at No. 6.

07:57Korean actress Han Ji Min announced her relationship with singer Choo Jung Hoon in 2024.

08:03Soon after, a woman started posting malicious content against her on social media.

08:09She has now been indicted.

08:12The online harasser of Han Ji Min, known for shows like Love Scout and One Spring Night,

08:18has been indicted without detention for repeatedly posting malicious content against the actress.

08:24In a case pertaining to 2024, the Seoul Central District Prosecutor's Office referred the accuser

08:31for intimidation and defamation.

08:33The woman in her 30s, surnamed E, was indicted without detention on October 20 for repeatedly

08:40targeting Han Ji Min 19 times on social media from September to October last year.

08:47This was soon after Han Ji Min confirmed her relationship with vocalist Choo Jung Hoon in August 2024.

08:57Korean director Shin Sang Hoon passed away in May at the age of 40.

09:02With no relatives found, his funeral was held alone.

09:06The South Korean entertainment industry mourned the tragic loss of director Shin Sang Hoon who passed away earlier this year at the age of 40.

09:18The filmmaker's quiet passing, revealed months later, has left fans and colleagues heartbroken,

09:25particularly after reports confirmed that his funeral was held without family or relatives.

09:32According to a report, Shin passed away in May.

09:35As no relatives were identified, his funeral was carried out as a no-relative burial.
