00:51began receiving increasing numbers of ufo reports once u2s started flying at higher altitudes

01:35were the source of half of all reported ufo sightings number nine fbi sightings in the fifties
01:42an fbi memo from august of 1950 confirms that unexplained phenomena now referred to as unidentified
01:49anomalous phenomena or uap were observed near sensitive installations over 150 sightings were
01:56recorded in new mexico alone over two years and it was more for the air force to look into along with
02:02countless other reports of ufos in roswell new mexico and elsewhere reports that were never
02:07substantiated the memo even lists the three types of phenomena that had been recorded over that time

03:05years however many documents have been declassified over the years to confirm its existence as a once
03:11top secret government testing facility to the dismay of many these documents do not confirm uap or housed
03:18there in an effort to make the u2 less vulnerable to soviet radar the test team at area 51 applied a layer of
03:25radar absorbent material to the fuselage of the u2 prototype however having a map of the facility
03:31officially released and details explaining that the site had been used to test multiple stealth

04:071969 project blue book collected over 12 000 uap reports which were declassified in 1976 after redactions
04:15had been applied and during this time the air force amasses 13 000 reports of ufo sightings and encounters
04:24out of those reports 701 remained unidentified with no scientific explanation though they decided to
