00:00For Detroit, Joe, it's very interesting, but Jared Goff is on pace to be sacked
00:11the most times in his career, coming off of five sacks yesterday against Minnesota.
00:18But that one, albeit a bad loss, a third loss, by the way, now for the Lions,
00:24it does feel a little bit more about Minnesota and a little bit more about that group
00:30coming to life around J.J. McCarthy because, to the Vikings' credit,
00:37while it's like, oh, they jumped all over him, down 7-0, game was tied at 14-14,
00:42that's not necessarily how it went. That was a very good win by the Vikings.
00:46Yeah, I think the perception, again, we go back to the last time these teams played,
00:51and that was the game where Sam Darnold and Minnesota crumbled.
00:56And I think the perception was, oh, in this spot with J.J. coming back from a long hiatus,
01:02this offense wouldn't be able to move the football. Detroit would just have their way
01:06because other teams have against Brian Flores in recent weeks.
01:10And we talk about divisional matchups with an above-average defense.
01:15Yeah.
01:16They're going to be in some aspects.
01:18They had to step up, and they found their way.
01:21And credit J.J. McCarthy, credit Kevin O'Connell,
01:24because in must-win type of situations in the regular season,
01:29he has found a game plan to out-coach potentially teams like, you know, Detroit.
01:36I'm not saying he did it last year, but teams like Detroit.
01:39And this is what they do.
01:41Now, they're going to have to maintain that just to get to a playoff.
01:44But if they play the way they did offensively with McCarthy,
01:48they have a legitimate shot at 10 or 11-win season.
01:52Yeah, see, again, I don't know if it's going to go that far.
01:54I think it's about this team finding their level, right?
01:56As someone who was on a Vikings team total yesterday, it's just I do think that O'Connell
02:00is a good coach, right?
02:03And I think he can coach offense.
02:06They have time to find out what McCarthy is going to be for this team.
02:11I mean, here's – I will say, like, he clearly wants it, right?
02:15Like, what I mean is, like, he wants to be the face of the franchise, that leader.
02:18He's ready for the challenge.
02:20We'll see if he can actually meet that moment.
02:22If I can just pull back to the Lions for a second, Joe.
02:25Right.
02:30Jared Goff's passer rating is a 115.
02:33I think it's the second or third best in football, right?
02:36But if you look through some of the Goff numbers, there's these big disparities with
02:40the more advanced – you know, his pro football focus grade is awful.
02:45His QBR is much worse.
02:47Like, yesterday, he had a 108.4 passer rating but a 44.4 QBR.
02:51I don't use any of those things as a gospel, but it matches what I'm seeing.
02:58Like, I get it, right?
02:59Ah, 24, two touchdowns, no picks.
03:01Like, Joe, he did not play that well yesterday.
03:03No.
03:03And I do not think Jared Goff has played that well this season.
03:05I really don't.
03:06But, again, Jared Goff is effective when he has a clean pocket and the rushing attack
03:11is consistent.
03:13But the world is his oyster when it's all gift-wrapped for him in a way they pretended
03:17it was for her.
03:17But he's similar to Matt Stafford and some of the other – but he's similar to Matt
03:21Stafford and all the other – no, he's not similar to Matt Stafford.
03:25Stafford is much better for him.
03:26That's why the Rams did what they did.
03:29It's true, though.
03:30Okay, but I'm just – all right.
03:31We've seen – yeah, I get – you want – I think Goff is just as good at times
03:36as Stafford.
03:37I really believe that.
03:38Oh, yeah, at moments.
03:38Yes.
03:39When he's hitting, you know, Gibbs three yards behind the line.
03:42Obviously, Stafford has the Super Bowl.
03:44I'm not taking away from that.
03:45Right.
03:46What I'm saying is they're similar in that you pressure the pocket up front.
03:50Yeah.
03:50They crumble.
03:52You have an opportunity to get them off his mark.
03:54They're not as consistent as they are.
03:56They're similar in that aspect.
03:57Coop.
03:58Okay.
03:58See you next time.
03:59See you next time.
03:59See you next time.
04:00Talk.
04:01Bye-bye.
04:02Bye-bye.
04:02Bye-bye.
04:03Bye-bye.
04:03Bye-bye.
04:04Bye-bye.
