Transcript
00:00So Jay, tell me why you're here today and why it's important to you.
00:04I went through years and years and years of challenging the council to support my son
00:10alongside his schools.
00:13We went through suspensions, labelled as bad behaviour, we went through a Send 4A tribunal
00:19which was about 12 months of gruelling, horrible hard work, having to educate yourself on laws
00:25that you have no idea of as a parent and his needs were unmet, they continued to be unmet
00:33until the end of his education, he was left with barely any GCSEs and the constant phrase
00:38that we used to hear was reasonable adjustments, we're doing just enough and that isn't enough
00:43and that's why we're here today.
00:45So how important do you think this is, the sort of thing you're doing here with all the
00:49pairs of shoes, it brings that sort of human element?
00:53I think representing how many children have been failed and there will be more, there
00:57are so many more across the country, they're not doing enough and I think that a movement
01:01like this, it helps amplify the frustrations of parents across the county, across the nation
01:08that feel like we've been let down, there are thousands and thousands of children that we
01:12are speaking for today because they can't and that's so important to come together with that.
01:17And you're doing this right because you're doing it, there are a lot to talk about it, there's
01:24a lot of people saying that, but they are not doing it, but I don't know, if they do not
01:26work.
01:27Some people are not doing it, but I don't know, if they ask them exactly, but they have
01:29some people saying that, most of them are making the difference so they have the US
01:30that they do not do.
01:32Maybe it's a bit of a problem to think about it, not being a problem to think about it, but
01:37I wonder if you can see the shoes rise in the shoes that must be organised.
01:44Oh, are you on?
01:49Yeah.
01:50They don't actually just feel like a boy.
01:52They're just like a little joke.
01:54My parents use that to me all the time.
01:56So, you are for the old school.
01:58Have you got space for two more shoes?
02:02Was it a good joke?
02:04I do it to my kids all the time.
02:07Look, I'm off.
02:10It took another while.
