00:00The story begins in New South Wales, Australia, where we meet the main character, Grace Jennings.
00:07The film's timeline isn't linear. It jumps between the past and present, which works fine while
00:14watching, but makes the explanation a bit tricky. So, let's look at both timelines separately for
00:21clarity. Grace returns to her hometown after her father's death. She had been living in the city
00:28for a reason that's revealed later. When she visits the mortuary to see her father's body,
00:35it's clear she doesn't feel much grief. Later, she goes to the church to collect his belongings
00:42and then visits his old house, which is in terrible shape, showing that his final days
00:48weren't good. In the basement, Grace finds an old knife marked with a strange symbol. While she's
00:56there, she suddenly hears a noise. Startled, she rushes upstairs, but no one's there,
01:03leaving her uneasy and on edge. Grace also had a brother named David, but they hadn't spoken
01:10in a long time. She tried to call him to tell him about their father's death, but he didn't answer.
01:18Grace's family originally came from England, and her great-grandfather had once been involved
01:23in a mining business. Later, she visits her uncle Rex, hoping he can help her find David.
01:31Rex tells her that their father gave all his property to the church and that he had kicked
01:36David out of both the house and church some time ago. Rex warns her not to look for him,
01:43saying it's better to stay away. Still, Grace is determined to find her brother,
01:49even if he's now living among junkies in an old industrial area. A hint that David may have become
01:57a drug addict. Grace also learns that Rex's wife, her aunt, had supposedly died a year ago,
02:06which makes her sad. Later, while sitting in her car, Grace goes through her father's belongings
02:12and finds very old documents from 1874, linked to the Bathgate Mineral Company. Among them is a
02:21mysterious book mentioning demons, angels, heaven, hell, and dark rituals, though we never learn its
02:29title. When Grace stops at a store, she spots a missing poster of her aunt, realizing that Uncle Rex
02:36lied. Her aunt didn't die, she vanished. Following Uncle Rex's directions, Grace heads to the old
02:44industrial area. There, she sees a van picking up a few people, not everyone, just certain ones. They
02:52seem eager to go somewhere, though no one says where. Grace meets a woman who doesn't know David,
02:59but tells her that those taken in the van are being chosen for a utopia, a perfect place supposedly
03:07located deep in the forest. When Grace asks if she's ever been there, the woman replies that no one who
03:15goes ever comes back. It's clear the woman isn't well, she's clearly under the influence, and she refuses
03:23to say more. Grace files a missing person report for David, but she knows the police won't help much,
03:31so she decides to ask her former geography teacher, Mr. Green, for help. He had been fired years ago for
03:39his drinking problem. Grace recognizes him as the man she saw earlier helping load people into the van.
03:47Hoping he knows something, she offers him money to guide her. Mr. Green admits that David joined a
03:55commune in the forest, a place full of hippies and addicts who call it utopia. He warns Grace that the
04:03place is strange and that people who go there never return. But she doesn't care. She's determined to
04:10find her brother and bring him home. Before leaving, Grace visits her ill mother, who begs her not to go.
04:19Grace promises she'll return safely. She also meets Uncle Rex again, who warns her to stay away from the
04:26forest, clearly frightened of something there. But Grace asks him to come along to search for his wife,
04:34though he refuses. The next day, Grace and Mr. Green enter the forest. Grace suddenly stops.
04:43Something terrible once happened to her there, though we don't yet know what. Seeing her fear,
04:49Mr. Green promises to protect her, which helps her calm down before they move on. Guided by a map,
04:57they continue deeper into the woods. Mr. Green seems to be the only one who knows where David might be.
05:04Before nightfall, they set up camp. Grace learns he lost his teaching job due to alcoholism and once
05:12worked in the local mines. That night, Grace can't sleep. She keeps her father's knife close,
05:20unsure if she can trust Mr. Green. The next morning, she notices a symbol of an animal carved on a tree.
05:28Mr. Green says local teens might have done it. Later, Grace realizes her phone
05:34is missing and suspects him, but he proves he doesn't have it. During their talk, Grace reveals
05:41her father's dark past, his ties to a cult, his cruelty toward her, and his attempt to harm her.
05:48David saved her and helped her escape to the city. The town knew, but stayed silent, likely out of fear.
05:56Her father claimed his family had failed him and wanted to start a new one with Grace. His father had
06:04very dark intentions. David also suffered, but endured it. Before resting again, Mr. Green gives
06:12Grace a radio, telling her to use it to contact park rangers if she gets lost or ever doubts him.
06:19In reality, Mr. Green was trustworthy, but the next morning, Grace discovers he's gone. She searches
06:27and calls out for him, but there's no response. Panic sets in. She's lost, the radio isn't working,
06:35and her phone was already gone. Now, alone in the forest, she stays near her camp as night falls.
06:42Feeling uneasy, she scans the area with her torch, but no one's there. Suddenly, her radio connects to
06:50a man named Michael, who says he's also lost. They decide to meet the next day. Grace either hopes to
06:58help him or escape with him. On her way, she drinks water from a stream, but it feels strange, hinting
07:06something's wrong. She continues and tries to climb a rock when an invisible force pushes her down. She
07:14falls, breaks her leg, and faints. When she wakes, she's in severe pain and limps back to camp with a
07:22stick. Sitting by a tree, she hears footsteps and looks around, thinking Mr. Green might have returned,
07:30but no one's there. Frightened, she contacts Michael again. He says he's near her tent, yet she sees no
07:39one. Trying to stay calm, Grace lies, saying she's inside the tent, though something clearly feels wrong.
07:48Grace didn't trust the stranger, so she hid behind a tree, away from her tent. Over the radio, Michael said
07:56he was right outside and told her to come out. Grace knew it was a lie. When she said she couldn't see
08:03him, he replied, but I can see you. Terrified, Grace realized Michael wasn't real. Something else was
08:12watching her. Later, she has nightmares in her tent. When she wakes, she finds a family photo outside,
08:20in which the faces of Grace's family members were erased, except for hers. Alone and frightened,
08:27she senses someone nearby before fainting. When she wakes at night, the forest is silent.
08:35Her radio crackles again, and she follows the sound with her torch until she's hit by a horrible smell.
08:41A rotting body lies there. The radio noise comes from near the corpse, and when Grace checks his ID,
08:50it reads, Michael Steve. The man she'd spoken to was already dead. As the radio buzzes again,
08:57Grace senses movement close by. She shuts off her torch and hides behind a tree, shaking with fear.
09:05Just then, a figure holding a flaming torch walks past. It's unclear if this was a real person or a
09:12spirit. The answer comes later. Grace stays completely silent, afraid he might see her. By morning,
09:22she uses a wooden stick to keep moving and eventually reaches the entrance of an old mine, abandoned years
09:30ago. She doesn't go inside, and instead changes direction, arriving at a lake. Across the water,
09:37she spots a group of hippies and junkies gathered there. Strangely, she doesn't ask for help, almost
09:45as if she's being controlled by some unseen force. Suddenly, a horrifying scene unfolds. A group of people
09:54wearing mud masks attack the hippies and violently take their lives, all during an eclipse. Terrified,
10:03Grace realizes one masked figure is now standing behind her. Then everything goes black. When she
10:11wakes, she's tied to a tree. Another man is tied nearby, and several lifeless bodies hang from the trees
10:19around her. She tries calling out, but the man doesn't respond. He's unconscious. Moments later,
10:27a masked person approaches. Grace begs for her life, saying she came only to find her brother David,
10:34and won't tell anyone what she's seen. The man lifts the other prisoner's hood, revealing it's Mr. Green.
10:42Shocked, Grace faints again. When she wakes, Mr. Green is conscious.
10:48She demands to know why he left her, and he apologizes. Grace asks about the map,
10:54and he admits he knew he'd find this place eventually, that they were waiting for the right
11:00person. Soon, the masked cultists return to take down the bodies, but one man is still alive,
11:08so they release him. It becomes clear these people are part of a cult, performing a violent ritual,
11:15and the survivor is likely destined to become one of them. Soon after, a man approaches Grace.
11:23It's David, her brother. He unties her and gives her food. Seeing him alive, Grace is shocked,
11:30yet relieved. David says he never thought she'd return, but is glad she did. When she asks who these
11:37people are, he explains, this is the home of the lost soul's deity, with whom their family shares a
11:44deep bond. Grace refuses to believe it. David tells her she came not just to talk about their father's
11:51death, but because of guilt. She left and never came back. He reveals that their father's cruelty pushed
12:00him to try ending his life twice, but he survived, and then this place found him, just as it has now
12:07found her. Grace protests, saying these people harm innocent lives, but David says, this is your home
12:16now. You can't leave. He will watch over you. To serve the deity, she must do what they do. Grace refuses,
12:24and David coldly says, time will tell, before walking away. Grace crawls to Mr. Green to free him,
12:32but a masked man appears and attacks him repeatedly, ending his life. Panicked, Grace tries to escape,
12:40but doesn't succeed. That night, she stands before a fire, surrounded by masked cult members. Her once
12:48broken leg miraculously heals, and she still grips her father's knife, the same one carved with the dark
12:55symbol. In the end, Grace is forced to enter the cave that was once part of the old mine. Inside,
13:03she sees David, but a sudden noise startles her. Acting on instinct, Grace turns with her knife,
13:10and accidentally stabs David, ending his life. Shockingly, David seems at peace as he dies. It
13:18becomes clear this was part of the entity's plan all along. The cult had worshipped this dark power
13:25for generations, but their rituals had always failed, because no one had ever sacrificed someone
13:32they truly loved. Grace's father could never do it. He didn't love his family, but Grace, unknowingly,
13:40had just done so. That act made her the chosen one. Moments later, Grace sees visions of her family,
13:50smiling proudly at her. Strange images flash, symbols, shadows, and whispers. Until finally,
13:58Grace appears wearing a mask herself. The story ends with the haunting realization that Grace has now
14:06become part of the cult, possibly even its new leader or messenger of the dark entity. And with that,
14:14the film ends. If you look at this film only from a horror perspective, it's inspired by Australian
14:23folk horror. There's no mention of any specific folklore, nor do we get much detail about the rituals.
14:32Aside from that, the core message of film is roughly this. When we face our trauma, family history,
14:40and the darker side of society, what truly matters isn't just escaping or finding someone,
14:47but understanding ourselves, and realizing that the light at the end of the tunnel isn't always
14:53guaranteed. The forest and cult elements turn this inner struggle into an outer horror. The story mostly
15:02focuses on broken and lost people. Those who end up embracing evil because they feel unwanted by the
15:10world. The film explores themes like trauma, family scars, escape, nature as a mirror of inner chaos,
15:19ambiguity and meaninglessness, and how the cult or commune reflects society's neglect of the forgotten.
15:31The film has been developed by a special events. This entire movement is about the freshness of Harry
15:37and the rest of the world. This is the time of the world. I believe that we're not toward the
15:39world as a life so well. I think that it's a great place to be able to imagine such that this
15:41spiritual channel is a great place for us to be able to describe the feeling of our time-women.
15:42So that you can find some ideas, what would you consider us to be able to be able to do with our
15:43thoughts and guide us as a future of our life?
15:44that we hope that we don't see how we can take the pain in time to bring up the hold of the truth.
15:46So that if we choose our life in our book, then we can take that time to try and walk back at it,
15:49and have to solve the fact that you can take it out.
