A dramatic new twist has emerged in the case of former Israeli Army Law Chief Yifat Tomer-Yerushalmi, who was arrested following the leak of a video allegedly showing IDF soldiers abusing a Palestinian detainee.
According to Israeli media, Tomer-Yerushalmi vanished for hours after leaving a troubling note that initially raised fears for her safety, prompting a large emergency search. She was later found alive — and investigators now believe the disappearance may have been staged.
Police reportedly suspect she carried two phones: one left to be traced, and another she allegedly threw into the sea. Authorities are examining whether the discarded phone may have held evidence linked to the leaked abuse video.
The note she left, first described as a suicide letter, is now being viewed by investigators as a scripted or ambiguous message, adding to growing speculation about what she intended to hide — and what was on the missing device.
